Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

Boeing: repeatedly making the case for high speed rail.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Museums are not America’s attic for its racist shit.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

Shut up, hissy kitty!

The real work of an opposition party is to oppose.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

It’s pointless to bring up problems that can only be solved with a time machine.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

If you can’t control your emotions, someone else will.

Weird. Rome has an American Pope and America has a Russian President.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Reposting from below which is probably now a dead thread.

Great news from me. After all the upheaval after Mum’s death we have moved house. We are now in a delightful fully refurbished rental, 2 bed bungalow in Morecambe which after the four story Georgian terrace is a blessing. No stairs! The kitchen is HUGE and beautiful and I can’t wait to start cooking and baking in it. My family have been absolute troopers getting Mum’s house cleared and us moved. They have gone above and beyond to get us settled and nothing is too much trouble for them. Husband is working every day as a TA for Autistic children. Only downside is that the school is 22 miles away which means a two hour round trip for me in the morning dropping him off and then the same in the afternoon picking him up. (These are small country roads not motorways you understand). It should get easier once Mum’s estate is settled and he can buy a moped and commute himself (and I won’t have to get up at 6am.) Still things are getting better every day.

I watched the entire news report and didn’t see the tornado.  I was expecting to see the funnel cloud looming in the distance through that big window.

Woe is me! Alack and a lack-a-day! Liverpool could only draw 1-1 with visitors Napoli, and must now get at least one point in their last Champions League group at Red Bull Salzburg to go on to theknockout stage.

I went back to bed to ice the knee and keep it elevated this afternoon, and the power was twitchy and blinky for quite a while. We could hear the wind up on the ridgetops, and I’m sure it was limbs hitting the lines causing the grid to be, hm, unreliable. But it never went off, the generator never came on.

And since we woke up this morning the well pump has been online steadily, so hurray. Having a Gin & Tonic before dinner. Not doing anything fancy for the Thanksgiving except being thankful for good friends, for being warm and well fed, puppies and kitties, etc. And you all.

And Cole: Why ISN’T Guliana in jail !???!??

@J R in WV: Um, where is the pump? Might be a good idea to trip the breaker while someone investigates, no?
