A new YouGov survey finds nearly half of Americans (47%) aren't always wearing pants while working from home. Only about half (53%) say they are always wearing pants while working from home. https://t.co/mCjTfNpKuQ pic.twitter.com/KSjmQ08AC0

In these dark times, only the thought of Cole mopping naked for the greater good has sustained me.

About that China clip: they should wind Mao’s corpse in copper wire, and metro Beijing’s electrical power needs would be met through the end of the century.

I want to know more about the 7% in that survey who responded “never.”

I’m old enough to remember “In Living Color”. I loved that show.
Having said that, it’s still no “Hollywood Shuffle”.
Mnemosyne
Define “pants.”
piratedan
well I’ve been working “remotely” for quite some time, shorts are nifty, besides, when you’re naked, the cats always want to get in your lap….
Litlebritdifrnt
@Mnemosyne:
In the UK “pants” mean underwear, so this survey takes on a whole new meaning.
rikyrah
I am in the rarely category.
my meetings are phone in
I am in gowns at home.

@Litlebritdifrnt:
Oh…underwear????
I thought it meant pants??
Then I am in the always group ?

Sneaked in several hours of carpentering out back. Not all that happy with the resultant look of the trim on the final wall to go up on the shed today, but as am working with the existing non-square, non-plumb framing know in my heart of hearts it is the best that can be done with what was there; at least gaps where the walls are supposed to meet (because the existing studs ain’t vertical) are hidden.
A few pieces of trim to cut and install yet for symmetry’s sake and to tie down everything against fierce winds, after that comes tackling the roof.
The Moar You Know
I fully dress and shave every day. It keeps me from freaking out, for one, and I think it’s important that while the world may be going to shit that I make a point of preserving as much civilization in my own life as possible.
That being said, the urge to wear nothing but a blanket with a hole cut out for my head does get a bit strong at times. Problem is, if I get used to that I won’t be able to go back.
Litlebritdifrnt
@rikyrah: BTW David Plouffe and Axe just weighed in re the Biden allegations. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/05/01/opinions/biden-tara-reade-allegations-2008-vetting-axelrod/index.html

What’s the frequency, Kenneth?

@Litlebritdifrnt:
Well, I do always wear THAT kind of pants in the house so I don’t stick to the furniture ?
It’s been warm here lately and G is still working from home (I’m on furlough), so he’s been wearing a dress shirt with shorts so he looks decent for conference calls.
rikyrah
@Litlebritdifrnt:
Uh huh
Uh huh??
No shock

Me too. And it ticked me off immensely, though it didn’t overly surprise me, that the guy who got pulled out of that cast and given big Hollywood bucks was the one white guy (Jim Carrey).

@Litlebritdifrnt:
Any statements in support of Biden from any Democrat will be disregarded. Any statement against Biden will be moved to the top and amplified as “new” or “additional” evidence.
One of the articles linked upthread (I forget which) said Biden is “under fire.” What exactly does that mean? And if Biden is “under fire” why isn’t Trump? Can the press/media just brazenly apply to different standards? Do voters not see this as bullshit?
khead
@Ceci n est pas mon nym:
Don’t forget that Rosie Perez and Jenny from the Block cashed a few checks from that show too.
I’m still a lot more upset that no one knows Robert Townsend these days.

@James E Powell:
They’ve been doing it since at least Bill Clinton’s time, so why would they stop now? They’re going to demand 100% transparency from Biden while giving Trump a free pass on everything.
This is a slightly different question. Based on the 2018 midterms and the Democratic primaries, I think that a whole lot of Democratic voters just ignore all of this bullshit. I think that’s only going to accelerate the more hysterical the MSM becomes. I think that most Democrats and left-leaning indies feel like they got burned by the MSM in 2016 and have decided not to listen to them this year. We’ll see how it goes.
Duane
Okay half the people aren’t wearing pants and the other half are lying.
Mnemosyne
@Duane:
British pants or American pants?
PJ
@different-church-lady: I never understood what people where referencing with that quote until I finally saw Marathon Man this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avNraWT8CSI
Duane
@Mnemosyne: Why not both?
CaseyL
If “pants” = PJs, then I am always wearing pants. I have not “dressed for work” since the WFH thing started – though I do put on a respectable shirt if I’m Zooming. Maybe even some makeup… wait; no, I haven’t.
Brachiator
I’ve been working from home for a while and I used to always get fully dressed. I would go out and have breakfast and then come home and start work. I did this to have a kind of routine to formally mark the work day.
Some days would include a video conference, so I had an incentive to dress for work. I would not dream of not wearing pants, because I would be paranoid about some potential embarrassing incident.
Later on, I got more relaxed. I generally wear a light sweatshirt and sweatpants.
Generally don’t wear shoes.
Enhanced Voting Techniques
At lest 20% of the voters think the world is flat, climate change is hoax, Jesus worked on a Dinosaur farm, fossils are made in a factory in China, the virus doesn’t exist, Kurbrick faked the moon landing and they inject bleach because they were told bleach is both a cleaner and a dessert topping at the same time. A lot people want to believe bullshit.
