Exhilarating and depressing in equal measure. Fantastic support and of a system that demands endless amounts of cash shoveled into its maw. Money=speech is one of the most poisonous products of this supreme court.

True. But at least a lot of it is from grassroots small donors

I don’t know why, but I’m starting to feel a little more confident about the race. I don’t know if it was that Quinnipiac poll that showed Biden up by 5 points in Ohio or that FL poll showing Biden up by the same the other day. I’m content with donating money atm

Does anyone know when the Obama or Biden/Obama events are?  I was thinking yesterday or today, but I hadn’t heard anything.  Did I miss them?

Hoping I’m not the only one who feels like they are operating at 75% instead of 100% lately.

UCLA early voting data is encouraging. Among Dems, Biden 94/Trump 4. Among Independents, Biden 60/Trump 24. Among GOP Biden 13/Trump 85.

Hillary got 42% of Ind votes in 2016. So Biden has a 9 point net across Dem/GOP and a 36 point net among Ind.

Mind you, just early votes, not broken down by state, etc. But if this were to hold, Biden would win by almost 20 points. 3rd party only taking 2% of Dem votes and 2% of GOP votes. Taking 16% of Ind votes. I think we can safely say that Yeezy won’t be spoiling any elections.

    Additional info out of Nevada.

Independent voter turnout up, match Dem voting patterns, and skew younger than either party. I think the story out of this election *might* be that independent voters less occupy the middle ground between Dem and GOP and increasingly occupy the space to the left of the Dems. These are the young Dem Socialists who want the Dem party to move much more to the left, and who vote erratically depending on the candidates. They didn’t turn out in ’16 (many of them were too young to vote) but they’re turning out now. It’s both a growth of Ind voter registration with younger ages, as well as a growth of turnout for that group.

@WaterGirl: My Atlanta friend wanted to attend a recent Biden appearance, but could not track it down. He speculated that the campaign may be prioritizing security over publicity, and was fine with that.  I noticed last week that that the schedule of Kamala Harris’s trip to North Carolina was not reported even that morning.    They ought to be careful.

Over 93,000 new cases so far today. I added up the cases 13 days projected (by my math) until next Tuesday. About a million or more. Presumably that’s a million or more cases under 14 day quarantine, right? True that many will probably already have voted. But those of them planning to vote on Nov. 3; will they be allowed to vote?

@Winston: I live in Alabama, so not a swing state, but elections officials here have put out instructions for voting next Tuesday if you have COVID. Basically, stand in line with everyone else, then tell the poll worker at the door. They will pull the ill person aside and either take them to a separate area or separate room (larger polling places) or stop entry and allow only the COVID positive voter inside the polling place after the voters already inside have finished and left. With the poll workers still in there, of course. Once that person has voted and left, other voters will be allowed inside again. There was no mention of opening all the doors and windows. It is Alabama, after all.

@Sloane Ranger: Well, I’m nervous too, but…Biden is doing better with white and elderly voters than Hillary did. Also, Georgia seems to be swinging our way pretty fast. The upper midwest and PA don’t seem to be tightening at all and if we win there we don’t need FL. AZ, NC, and maybe TX are alternative pickup opportunities. So are OH and IA. Thrre are lots of paths to victory for us and only one for Trump.
