Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The real work of an opposition party is to oppose.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

Shut up, hissy kitty!

The fight for our country is always worth it. ~Kamala Harris

Bark louder, little dog.

T R E 4 5 O N

Everybody saw this coming.

One of our two political parties is a cult whose leader admires Vladimir Putin.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.”

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

“Perhaps I should have considered other options.” (head-desk)

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

Celebrate the fucking wins.

The words do not have to be perfect.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

In my day, never was longer.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

The republican caucus is covering themselves with something, and it is not glory.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

You cannot love your country only when you win.

I have a pizza in the oven so I thought I would start writing this to keep me from opening the oven like a savage and checking. At any rate, it’s nice to see that for once the Republicans seems to be getting credit/blamed for the fecal art that is their behavior on Capitol Hill, and it saddens me to see the RNC in such a mess. Certainly Glenn Greenwald will be publishing their emails soon.

In other news I have quickly adopted the Arizona habit of acting like anything below 60 degrees is freezing, and all my joints hurt because of the rain storm. Had some crazy winds for a bit, too.

That’s it for me tonight. Tired.

Why not use the oven light so you can check (the pizza) w/o opening the door ?

Take it easy for a few days. Maybe go resale shop hunting for a comfy chair for you, with an ottoman so you can put your feet up and binge a few shows. You’ve been going all out.

I’m about to take a huge leap. As I have posted I lost both my last cat and dog last year. I’ve been looking at adopting new ones, but every time I start to visit a shelter I feel sad. Well last week, while checking Petfinder I came across three, bonded senior kitties. The owner died and they were left with nowhere to go. The rescue said as much as they wanted to keep them together, they knew that realistically that probably wouldn’t happen. They also said they would love for someone to foster them. So, long story short, tomorrow I will be getting 3 foster cats delivered to my door with litter boxes and food and vet care.

I know me and I totally expect to foster fail, but for now it’s dipping my feet back into having cats without having to fully commit. I’m so excited and a little scared. At least I’ll be giving them a good home and a place to settle.

I don’t know how long this will be up, but here is their PF listing and a second one with a video of another of the cats.

In good, no, _great_ news of GOP dysfunction, both the impeachment vote on Mayorkas and the standalone aid to Israel vote FAILED in the House.
Johnson may be as bad at counting as McCarthy was.

Eye yam setting up the mesh network hardware. For a good long while nothing works until poof it does.

One no longer administers from the PC, it’s now done from a tiny, tiny phone display. Progress!

No consumer feedback other than I have restored what the household was missing (internet) and it’s way too soon to learn if the sad coverage edges are now plump with wifi goodness. The point of this exercise.

The number of devices that need to be reacquainted with the new ID and password cannot be counted by reasonable people. Probably finish up sometime in May.

I made Heuvos Rancheros for a quick dinner for the missus and I. Get a chopped white onion glistening in oil, add a small can of diced tomatoes (mostly drained) and chopped chili of choice, reduce. Add some chicken stock (the gloopy collagen stuff you make at home, not store bought water) and cumin, reduce 7-10 mins. Meanwhile heat a can of refried beans in a pan and some tortillas. When the sauce is seasoned and done, fry eggs over easy in a non stick. Serve: tortillas on bottom, beans on half, tomato reduction on half, top with fried egg(s). Get onnit John Cole!

Here in Maryland the past few days, I see that it’s above 32 degrees so I throw on a hoodie to go outside, rather than the winter jacket and gloves I’d thought necessary the past couple of months.  It’s funny how we adapt.

The cat redistribution system is driving us nuts. This geourgous little girl shows up in our backyard on 3 Jan. 6-8 months.Totally just flopped on down and let us pick her up. No fleas, no chip. Our theory is someone dumped a Christmas Kitty, she couldnt have been loose for more than a day. We have tried posting everywhere. We’re not allowed more that 2 cats on lease, so clearly we’re gonna have to find a way to hide a cat.

I always planned to get 2 senior cats. I watch my grandkids during the day and I didn’t want a cat to be alone. Plus I’m 70 so a young cat made me worry about them outliving me. When I saw these 3 it seemed like the cat gods thought we would be a good match.

LOL sounds like Arizonans are the same as Floridians. On one of our first snowbird road trips we were camping with our Ocala friends. When we stepped out of the camper in the morning in T-shirts, they were huddled outside with down jackets and wool hats. And get this: both of them were originally from Buffalo NY!

we had just the one cat for the 16 years he was around.

After he was no more we got two. Then added a third a year later.

The litter box duty sure is a lot more. At least for us, it seems like multiple cats bond more to each other than to us humans.

Generally though, it’s been good with more cats. They are all quite good and interesting creatures.

    Oh, good Lord.

Nikki Haley was outvoted in Nevada’s Republican presidential primary by a “None of These Candidates” option on the ballot on Tuesday, according to The Associated Press, an embarrassment in a contest in which she faced no direct competition.

The primary, which awards no delegates, had seemed like a foregone conclusion, as former President Donald J. Trump chose not to take part. On Thursday, he will instead participate in party-run caucuses where all of the state’s 26 delegates will be awarded, a choice by Nevada Republicans that complicated the process and rendered the primary basically irrelevant.

Ms. Haley skipped campaigning in Nevada entirely, choosing instead to spend her time in South Carolina, her home state and where the next primary will take place, after Mr. Trump easily won the first two nominating contests in Iowa and New Hampshire. Ms. Haley is expected to hold a rally in California, a Super Tuesday state, on Wednesday.

Supporters of Mr. Trump in Nevada, including Gov. Joe Lombardo, had advocated selecting “None of These Candidates” on the primary ballot as a protest vote against Ms. Haley. Republicans can then vote for Mr. Trump in the caucuses two days later, where he is essentially running unopposed after Ms. Haley, his last major rival standing, chose not to compete.

Barely getting 50% in a primary for an incumbent is now considered “easily” winning if you are a repug.
