BREAKING: Saudi Arabia recalls its ambassador to Canada, considers Canadian ambassador persona non grata. Freezes all new trade and investment transactions with Canada: Saudi Press Agency.
P.S. Saudi twitter has been placed on their highest alert status. It’s almost funny; they’re such amateurs at the schmeer.
Dude, if it’s a big interview, you need to go to bed. Best prep is a good night’s sleep. I wish you way more than good luck.

OT reading the candidate statements for US Senate from WA in the state voter pamphlet…29 total candidates with a high Wackadoodle %. Nice to see GoodSpaceGuy trying out his 19th try at elected office.
@James E Powell: it’s at 1pm and I’m jet lagged so staying up until midnight is not a huge concern.

Finally made some political donations today. We gave to re-elect Gov Kate Brown, re-elect Sen John Tester, and gave to the DNC. It’s so hard to choose! There are so many great Dem candidates and critical campaigns this year…
@Major Major Major Major: I’ve always thought of you as the best juvenile waterfowl. Sometimes that’s what they want.

Congrats to Ruemara! Almost there!
And the shed needs to be brick red or other deepish red shade. Creates a visual focal point and helps green foliage stand out. Plus is cheerful in the winter. Too bright of any color will shorten the view.

Let word go throughout the land that today I have lain eyes on the first retail display of Christmas wrap. Aug 5, yo.
You’re welcome.

@Major Major Major Major: I’m sure your interview will be just ducky, and go swimmingly. Yes, this is corny, but if you remember it before your interview you will smile and relax and possibly find some success there.
Spend all of Sunday resting at the hotel, so I was hoping to get outside for a bit today. Alas the monsoon rains have decided to have other ideas. It’s coming down so heavily that I’d need webbed feet to get around town.
Ironically, despite my worries about being here in Thailand during monsoon season, up until now it’s mostly been cloudy and gloomy, with only occasion light showers. The upside is it’s been about 10 degree cooler than expected — 80s with 90% humidity are definitely far more tolerable.
Just annoying, because now is when cabin fever is starting to kick in, and I don’t return to the States for another 11 days, where at least I can have cabin fever in familiar territory while I recuperate at home for another month. More importantly, at home Netflix and Hulu will work since 1) the hotel’s wifi is a bit too iffy for streaming, and 2) all the VPN programs I’ve tried so far Netflix and Hulu have detected and blocked me from streaming.)

@trollhattan:
That is revolting. I used to complain about Christmas merch in September, but we are still in back to school mode here. I’m curious as to what benighted company is doing this – is it one of the chains?
@Sister Golden Bear:
Sending you positive thoughts. Thanks for letting us in on your journey.

Costco. They may have already moved out the back-to-school stuff, at least I didn’t see any.
Like a river, you never step into the same Costco twice.

@trollhattan: The only display of Christmas merchandise I will accept this early is at craft stores because some projects (blankets, quilts, etc) do need four month headstarts. Any other merchandise should not be seen until after Thanksgiving.
Good night and I’m sure you will show that duck a thing or two tomorrow!

Steve is a steadying element in a confusing world. When he’s not being a bobcat, that is. As for ducks, I’m going to the state fair later this month to draw chickens and goats, because I’ve never seen ducks at the state fair. Of course, by the time I’ve gotten through the horse barn, goat show, it’s usually end of day, anyway.
