Jesus, I’m not going to be able to take all the centrist porn about the awesomeness of Nikki Haley.
You know what will make us all feel better? Giving some money to the Balloon Juice More More More fund. Forty-seven candidates — almost entirely in 2nd and 3rd tier races — selected by the readers. You can give to just one or two candidates if you don’t want to end up on too many mailing lists.
You can send some postcards too.

She was crap as SC governor, she was crap as UN Ambassador. As Kay rightly states: low-quality hire. Can’t wait to see who they scrape off the underside of the barrel as the replacement.

How about a fundraiser for the senate races?

Prince titles are the best titles.

We should see what Trump has to say:

Along with one large latte & one blueberry muffin, sixty GOTV postcards to young voters written. Two more weeks for postcard writing then…something—probably daily canvassing thru the 6th.
And good morning everyone.
And I don’t fricken care about Haley & what it all MEANS. Afraid it doesn’t mean shit if D’s don’t retake the House.

I know, I know.
But I refuse to think of sad people pleaser Nikki Haley when I hear the song, “Darling Nikki“, the entire reason the Parental Advisory labels exist.
I either want to dress up as Darlin’ Nikki or one of the Fates (Atropos, the one who cuts the thread because your time is up) or one of the Furies for Halloween. That, or The Final Girl.
Would GOTV in Halloween costumes for the midterms be well received?

@Leto:
Still among the best the Trump administration has to offer.

I celebrated the Federal holiday by kicking in some money. Good luck to all the candidates.

The Sailor who turned into a meme last night works at my base. Or worked. But I recognized him and where the picture was taken.
He seemed like a good guy and his tweets about how newfound fame show that.

Nikki Haley was a terrible governor of the treasonous insane asylum known as South Carolina, where her biggest concern was keeping taxes as low as possible. She frequently demeaned labor unions and their membership as “cockroaches”. But leave it to our rancid media to celebrate her “moderate” credentials and speculate about her future as a presidential candidate.

@PPCLI: For every occasion, there is an equal and opposite Trump tweet.

@Mike in NC:
Which is absurd. She’s a brown woman. She isn’t even going to get as far as Carson and Cain, who were the designated picks by evangelicals in their elections to announce that they’re totally not racist right up until there was even the faintest sign anyone but a white man might win. At that point the evangelicals had done their public duty, and ran to the ugliest racist they could find.

@guachi:
His mom doesn’t know the real reason he won’t go on dates with women, I guess.
He sounds like a great guy, handling this very well.

Aside from being a nonwhite woman, Nikki Haley has always struck me (for as long as I’ve known of her) as a standard-issue Republican politician.

She was pretty odious for SC. And there are no moderate Republicans anymore. At this point in time, a vote for any R in any position is a vote for everyone single one of their terrible ideas, policies, and beliefs. When I lived in SC, there were rumors about her marital fidelity and maybe some hinky financial issues (so long ago I left that terrible state).
I did shake her hand once. The owners of an engineering company I worked at brought her into the office and had her come around and shake hands. Folks knew I was a Democrat and were surprised that I shook her hand. I responded that I still tried to be nice to people.

Doug, thank you for the frequent re-posting of the contribution link.
Would it be feasible to change the thermometer total to $47K, for our 47 candidates? Many thanks!
Doug!
@H.E.Wolf:
Sure thing

@Doug! Can you add Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) to the fund? She is challenging John Culberson, and is polling well and just received the endorsement of the Houston Chronicle, which is a big deal around these parts.
