Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republicans: slavery is when you own me. freedom is when I own you.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

Trump should be leading, not lying.

It is possible to do the right thing without the promise of a cookie.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

They spent the last eight months firing professionals and replacing them with ideologues.

We can show the world that autocracy can be defeated.

Dumb motherfuckers cannot understand a consequence that most 4 year olds have fully sorted out.

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

People identifying as christian while ignoring christ and his teachings is a strange thing indeed.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

“They all knew.”

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

Museums are not America’s attic for its racist shit.

Front pager Randinho had a fall this week, broke his femur, and just got out of surgery. Which sucks, but it means more time for him lying down watching his beloved football.

Get well soon.

Best wishes for a successful recovery, Randhino.  I’m six weeks out from a hip replacement as the top of my femur decided to dissolve, so I’ll just add to the chorus of rest, do exactly what your dr. says,  and then PT are your friends.

Glad to hear from you, sorry it isn’t better news.

Many friends have had hip replacement and similar work done, so it isn’t cutting edge work any more… still, you will have to work hard or your physical therapists will complain and whimper, and you DON’T WANT THAT!!!

Keep them happy, work hard, keep in touch, please.

Hell, I’ve had both shoulders replaced, and a ‘scope on my knee, so I know from orthopedic surgeons! It will all work out…

That had to be some fall!  So sorry to hear you needed surgery to set the leg, though that usually happens when you break a major bone (I snapped my ulna falling off a horse).  Best wishes for a full recovery – and yes, do what the PT tells you!  It makes a huge difference!

Best wishes and best of luck.

If you think Biden is the one, just vote for Klobuchar. Same thing, more competent, less stumbly speaking, and funnier. Note: Biden’s $42,000 pay in 1972 would be $262,601.17 today.

    Thanks again!
