Already told my wife that I am not watching one of these again. Fuck Donnie. Fuck that assclown. Fuck him. Fuck that FUCKER

Biden’s taking Trump’s attack on Hunter’s cocaine addiction and turning it into a moment to connect with the millions of families who also deal with addiction was pretty good.
It’s awful. Trump has to ruin even THIS. That fucked needs to get kicked out immediately, and probably thrown into a mental health facility.

Leto
@Nicole: yeah, I thought so too. Millions of Americans connect with that, especially in the Rust Belt.

@MisterForkbeard: This has gotten to the point to where I’m starting to wonder if this man, at some point in the month of October, is just going to declare actual war upon the Democratic Party.
I must have gone to my happy place at that time because I missed it.

@Mary G: Nobody wants us. We have become the shithole country. I am embarrassed. I listened to it and I didn’t listen to a lot of it but I didn’t watch it at all so I have no idea how they looked. I hope it’s the partisan in me but I wanted Joe to be way more aggressive and nastier. On the radio he came across too nice and almost passive.

Donated (again). I was watching the ActBlue counter for a little while during the debate. The digit in the 100,000 place was incrementing approximately every 15 seconds.
ETA — it’s still going up but a bit slower — it just took 35 seconds to increment to the next 100,000.

Fact checks flying in from all angles:
In tonight’s presidential debate the President said the “Portland Sheriff” supports him. As the Multnomah County Sheriff I have never supported Donald Trump and will never support him.— Mike Reese (@SheriffReese) September 30, 2020
ActBlue ticker is going up by a million every nine minutes or so!

Chipped in a few $$.

@Baud: Trumpov brought up Hunter’s cocaine addiction as what helped him get removed from the military (after confusing Hunter with Beau), and Biden pivoted to the camera and spoke frankly about it: he was addicted, he’s overcome it, he’s continuing to move forward, and how proud he was of him. Again, thought a very good moment because of how it connects with the rest of America.
18.
Mary G
@Mai Naem mobile: That was the worst for me, too. The whole world is watching us allow this idiot to run riot. The damage is going to be incalculable.
Excellent. Joe’s best moments were when he looked at the camera and spoke directly to people.
20.
Leto
Maddow discussing how the Presidential Commission is going to respond to this after watching Trumpov make Wallace roadkill. Nicole/Joy pointing out how Chris was acting like an abused spouse, constantly saying, “Mr President, this will please you…” and how just fucking abnormal/absurd it is.

@Mary G: the GOP must be paved over for allowing the destruction of America.
22.
Leto
@Baud: I think so too. I think that was part of his strategy; ignore the clown show, speak directly to the American public. You won’t be able to control the clown show around you, just speak to the American people.
23.
Nicole
@Baud: Leto summed it up well, and what hit me was when he drew a comparison between Hunter’s addiction and the millions of people who have family members with addictions.
I am sure he feels shame about Hunter’s addiction, but man, I wish he’d talk about it openly because yeah, it’s a way to connect with people in the Rust Belt. Hell, my dad wasn’t a cocaine addict; he was just a boring old alcoholic, and even I felt the connection.

@Leto: I swear, I told my grandma that Trump would go there and she said, “he’ll give Biden a gift b/c anyone who has a loved one dealing with addiction would sympathize with Biden.” Did Biden pivot to opioid addiction?
25.
RaflW
@Nicole: Yes. I hope he connected with some struggling families on that. It really shows how human and real Joe is. His compassion is borne of struggle, and grown by it.
@Baud: My niece who is blue but not generally very political texted and mentioned how much she liked joe’s response to that question attack on Hunter and also said that she liked the way Joe looked at the camera and talked to the people.
Those were her two biggest comments, other than repeated texts about how disgusting and horrid Trump was.

Donated to Biden via the BJ thermometer about half an hour ago. Been watching the ActBlue ticker spin higher and higher. It’s kind of my new therapy.
We already jumped through all of the hoops to obtain Canadian permanent residency documents…started the process the day that Kavanaugh got confirmed. It’s been our escape hatch plan for some time.
Writing my first postcards to voters tomorrow!

What a shitshow this debate was! Trump was like an abusive spouse – yelling, talking over the other, calling Biden stupid – it was horrific. There is no doubt in my mind that Trump is a black-hearted abuser who doesn’t care about any human life besides his own. This is one sick, deviant degenerate man!
When you first go to the page, the number in the blue box in the upper right will have the latest number. It will start updating after a few seconds/minutes.

Re my previous comment: Never mind; it’s the big one on their home page.
I’ve asked the same question a couple of times over the last few days. I’d love to watch the ticker. Please, someone, tell us how to chill out to this lovely donation counter. (I’m on an iPhone, if that matters.)
37.
Wolvesvalley
@CaseyL: You will only see the ticker on a landscape-oriented display. The site will not rotate to landscape mode on a phone, if that’s what you are using.
38.
CaseyL
@SiubhanDuinne: See my comment just above yours: If you go to ActBlue’s home page it’s in the upper RH corner. It’s a cumulative – “all donations since 2004” – but the numbers go up, showing real time donations.
It appears that you only see the counter on the ActBlue page (top right) if you are on a computer or on a tablet in landscape mode.
On a tablet in portrait mode, or on a phone, the counter doesn’t seem to show up. I wasn’t able to find it anywhere on mobile.
I am an apple girl, but this was also verified by a jackal who uses android.

I decided not to watch the debate; I can barely stand to see short clips of Trump on Colbert. I have been binging Secret Scotland with Susan Calman on YouTube. A very nice travel show with some beautiful scenery. I’ve been to Scotland twice and seen some of the things they show, but by no means all.
I paused a few times to check BJ and Twitter. I don’t think I missed much.
