Happy New Year!

Now that the calendars have all (mostly) been ordered, we want to announce something new:

2021 Balloon Juice Pet Wallpaper

(aka screen background for electronic devices)

Badger has the honor of being the first Cover Boy for iPads!

Balloon Juice Pet Wallpaper for 2021

There will be a new wallpaper for each month.  Often there will be different photos for each device –  computer, phone and tablet – because they have different dimensions, and a particular photo may or may not be suitable for all 3 devices.

Anyone interested?  Let us know in the comments.

A subscription costs $10 for the entire 12 months of wallpaper (for all 3 types of devices) with the entire $10 going to our new pet rescue.  You are free to share any wallpaper you don’t use personally with a friend or family member.

I don’t know whether I will use mine as wallpaper, but I will be happy to get Balloon Juice pet photos, 3 a month.

Update: Forgot to mention that he wallpaper idea is John Cole’s brainchild!

Update 2: We are able to donate the entire $10 for each wallpaper subscription because Albatrossity is donating his time and talent in creating the wallpaper!

Update 3:  Bixby & Scout will be January desktop wallpaper.  So adorable.  And that sunlight!

    It’s been 7 hours since our last new thread, and Steep asked for a new one.  I just put that one up so we can keep this one related to the wallpaper.

    @Brooklyn Dodger: I think we can probably accept new photos as potential candidates for wallpaper.  But I need to work out my Dropbox issue first – it doesn’t like my computer now that I had the system board replaced.  Hope to get a fix from Dropbox support on Monday

    edit: forgot to mention that we need high resolution pics for this.  Cell phones can do that now, but you need to be sure to share the right version of it’s just a low res photo that we can’t use.

    You don’t have to be famous (or even BJ front-pager-famous) to have your pet get a wallpaper slot.

    Glad you all like them! It’s been fun sorting through pics and trying to figure out how to make these into attractive calendars. We’ll try to have a mix of cats and dogs (and maybe even bunnies and ducks, oh my) each month.

    As Watergirl has mentioned above, high-resolution in-focus pics are much preferred. And I have an additional request. Please, please, please don’t crop the pic so that it only shows your pet; that leaves no room to add a calendar in most cases. If possible send in an uncropped version, so that there is space somewhere to add a calendar and make your pet into a BJ celebrity!

    I’m signing up, but i’m not going to use mine as wallpaper.

    But I will pay $10 for the year in order to get 36 fun BJ pet photos throughout the year.  Plus, the money goes to our new pet charity.

    The way I see it, it’s a happy surprise once a month, for less than $1

    edit:  Yes, this is me, encouraging others to consider doing the same thing.  The calendars cost us $15 each to print, so $10 of each calendar goes to the pet charity.  This is the same money to the rescue as a calendar purchase, but it only costs you $10.

    I will subscribe. This is a very cool, practical combination of enjoying and honoring pets and helping the new pet charity, and for such a tiny amount of money : )
