Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“woke” is the new caravan.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

You are either for trump or for democracy. Pick one.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

I desperately hope that, yet again, i am wrong.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Beware of advice from anyone for whom Democrats are “they” and not “we.”

It’s pointless to bring up problems that can only be solved with a time machine.

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

The willow is too close to the house.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

He really is that stupid.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

We do not need to pander to people who do not like what we stand for.

“Perhaps I should have considered other options.” (head-desk)

There are times when telling just part of the truth is effectively a lie.

Republicans: The threats are dire, but my tickets are non-refundable!

Innocent people do not delay justice.

Together, this quilt raffle has raised $5,900 $6,200 or Ukraine!  You guys are amazing!

On The Road - Quiltingfool - Ukraine Block Photos, Part 2 7

Please check the list of raffle ticket purchasers below.

Not everyone specifically mentioned the raffle, but if you didn’t specifically indicate the donation was for squares/blocks, I made the assumption that your donation was for the raffle.

If you should be on the list but you’re not, let me know.  If you’re on the list but you didn’t buy raffle tickets – it’s possible that you intended your donation to “buy” squares/blocks – so please let me know that, too!

Also, not everyone included their nym, in which case I tried to use some discreet version of your nym in the nym field.  So if you donated for the raffle but you don’t see your nym on the list, please check for something resembling your name in the nym field.

@Fair Economist: Folks have 24 hours to confirm that the list is correct.

After that, we can go through the process to determine the winner.

Plus, that gives me 24 hours to get some work done for the clients I have been mostly ignoring since last Thursday. :-)

Then I’ll figure out the process for assigning random numbers and then selecting one.

*I am still in triage mode, just trying to keep everything moving.

When do we pony up for our Patron and other quilt squares?

And:  way to go, generous jackals.

@Elizabelle: You can pony up any time for the blocks/squares.

Just forward your ActBlue receipt to me and note that it’s for blocks.  I will file it in my “quilt blocks” folder.

But we won’t be taking specific “orders” for blocks until after the raffle is over.  Since bigger blocks or more complicated blocks cost more, it might make sense to wait until we are taking “orders”.

    @WaterGirl:

I want 17 to be my random number.

    Seventeen is:

    * Described at MIT as ‘the least random number’, according to the Jargon File.[22] This is supposedly because in a study where respondents were asked to choose a random number from 1 to 20, 17 was the most common choice.

** This study has been repeated a number of times.[23]

    Thanks!!!

    Cheers,
    Scott.

    @eponymous:

QuiltingFool is amazing.  (I too want to capitalize the F in fool, even though she does not!)

I think before we’re through – between this last auction and the raffle and the blocks – that she will have raised about $10k this time around.

And it was $5k for the first auction (including misc donations, even one $500 one as I recall).

That’s a lot of dough for Ukraine, from one generous soul with a whole lot of artistic talent.

I’m a bit late to the thread, sorry!  I am humbled by the generosity of everyone here, so glad I found this place.

I haven’t checked in today, as I was working on some Patron squares and I made a different one (Patron is standing).  I like it, maybe some of you will like it, too!  I’m hoping to have the new block finalized tomorrow so I can send Watergirl a photo.

Thanks to everyone for raising so much money!  Slava Ukraini!
