The folks at the Raw Story just kill me. From the editors page at Blue Lemur (the blog for the Raw Story folks):
When you first log-on to the Patriots website, you are greeted with the smiling mug of former U.S. Representative Bob Barr, now chairmain of the organization. Now, take a moment to think back to the impeachment of President Clinton

Gah. I’m torn. In my idealist eyes, I hate this. I just want to debate the issues, have fair honest discussion and have people vote their minds, without the thumbscrews being applied in the wings.
And then my bitter, crushed idealist reemerges as the nasty cynic and says, “Fuck it. If people will only be interested if there’s sex involved, let’s bring in the sex. If people will only raise a hue and cry, not for proper reasons, then let’s do it for improper reasons.”
And then I want to have a stiff friggen drink and wait for the gun fire to begin. And it is not even 9AM.

It’s okay.
The dominatrix in question was Jeane Kirkpatrick.
Note to Blue Lemurites/ Kostards / Eschatonians: It’s called learning at the feet of the master.

DFS, c’mon…I’ll buy the first round.
I can’t stand Bob Barr. But my opinion of him is based on his record in the House, not on what he is currently doing.
John, Raw Story is the Internet’s version of National Enquirer, IMO. Read it for the entertainment value then line the birdcage with it.

Let me see-Forced group sex in public vs. consensual sex between 2 adults in private. hmmm
Yeah, you’re right. That’s EXACTLY the same thing.
I think people’s private sexual behavior should remain private. However, isn’t forcing someone to have public group sex against the law?
It’s kinda like Jimmy/Jeff Guckert/Gannon. No law against gay sex. Definite laws against selling yourself online by the hour, gay or straight.

Coercing someone into sex is, so far as I am concerned, the moral (though perhaps not legal) equivalent of rape. It is not, so far as I am concerned, a private matter.

Hmm.. the evidence that she was coerced into sex is entirely circumstancial (or to put it another way, absent). I think I am going to have to file this under ‘none of our business.’ If you want a forced-sex scandal involving Bush’s posse, you don’t have to look far.
On the subject of Mr. Flynt, I can’t exactly get too worked up about a rich and powerful liberal using his influence to humiliate and discredit Republican politicians. Unilateral disarmament would go a long way towards establishing an accepted double standard. So let’s just hope that Mr. Flynt won’t be justified in continuing his crusade against moralizing hypocrites for long.

I really hate this stuff. I hated the crap when it was done to Clinton and I find the Bolton questions even more distasteful.
Allegations of “forced sex”? Well until Christina Bolton swears out a complaint against John Bolton it is a non-issue. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want to see John Bolton as US Ambassador to the UN, but not because of a witch hunt regarding very unsubstantiated claims regarding his sex life. I am opposed to him for very different reasons.
This “win at all cost” crap, from both sides, needs to stop…too many good people on both sides are staying out of politics because they refuse to have their personals lives examined under an electron microscope.

The left will excuse any behavior by Flynt, because only Liberals are entitled to any kind of private sex life. Republicans are all sexual hypocrites if they do it in any other position besides missionary, according to the standards the left apply to anyone who disagrees with them.
Per Clinton, I think it is relevant to a sexual harrassment case if the accused has a history of diddling his underlings. The judge in the case didn’t appreciate the perjury, and Clinton lost his law license. But I forgot, if a Democrat screws his junior coworker, that’s private. If it’s the Republican CEO, then he should be fired and the company should pay.

Liberals think that everyone is entitled to a private sex life, but we were overruled on that point. At some point, you gotta play the game the way the refs call it.

Member of the Brain Trust John Cole calls for unilateral disarmament. And gets outraged when he doesn’t find it.
Ha Ha.

Bob Barr is providing a great service to his country through his leadership. He works with everybody from the ACU to the ACLU to the Libertarian Party, fighting for our rights. The work he is doing now on the Patriot Act is needed. He is trying to get the law changed so our civil liberties and our safety is protected. I think the most important thing to protect in this country is every single one of our rights.
And no I am not a relative of Mr. Barr, LOL!!!

I didn’t know liberals were still confused about what happened when Clinton was impeached. They’re like a platoon of Japanese soldiers left on an island and unaware that the war has been over for years.
Clinton committed three felonies in the Lewinsky mess, two of which (perjury and suborning perjury) were on videotape in front of a Federal judge during his deposition in the Paula Jones case. The irony that has escaped his defenders is that he was directly responsible for being asked those questions about Monica.
Clinton’s defenders had nothing to say when he signed into law the Violence Against Women Act which was the statute under which he was questioned in that deposition. For sexual harassment cases, the VAWA eliminated one of the most well founded and respected rules of evidence in the Federal Evidence Code. Until Clinton changed the rule in 1994, evidence of a Defendant
