I love this town, because it’s hella more fun than so many others. For instance, imagine the soul-searing experience of a Tea Party Cruise to Alaska sponsored by the World Nut Daily!
Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Sign up now for the 2011 “WND Tea Party at Sea,” a week-long cruise to Alaska, Aug. 26 to Sept. 2, as a star-studded cast of speakers “sharpen and edify one another . . . sailing the pristine and majestic Alaska coastline.”…
__
The hard-partying, fun-loving trip leaders include WND founder and editor Joseph Farah; “Obama Nation” author Jerome Corsi; “How Evil Works” author David Kupelian; conservative superstar and Willie Horton ad producer Floyd Brown; and Aaron Klein, author of the best-selling “The Manchurian President: Barack Obama’s Ties to Communists, Socialists and Other Anti-American Extremists” — probably not including the executives at Morgan Stanley and Citigroup whom Obama (and Bush) bailed out.
__
The cruise also features perrenial candidate Alan Keyes, who lost presidential races in 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2008. (He lost a Senate race to Obama in 2004.)…
__
Rooms range from $1,400 for two in a “windowless stateroom” — we strongly advise avoiding those — to $9,150 for the big suites on the swift cruise ship. (The animated Web ad shows jet fighters flying overhead, either to defend the ship or maybe to strike Russia.)
You just know Farah, aka ‘The Mustache of Stubborn Mis-Understanding’, squinted at the Wasilla Grifter’s rapidly approaching sell-by date and muttered to himself, “Why should Jonah Goldberg score all the high-class bennies?”
Martin
Someone needs to tell WaPo that Alan Keyes isn’t famous for losing to Obama. He’s famous for proving the 28% rule. He’s like Pierre de Fermat for wingutopia.

This post has been up for 11 minutes and,
It is not yet infested with trolls.
Nobody has run sobbing from the blog.
Nobody has offered to meet Stuck in the alley behind the tavern.
Whatsamatter, BJ? Big Wednesday wear you out?
Parallel 5ths (Jewish Steel)
@Martin: My block was filled with Keyes for Senate yard signs. I’m petitioning to rename the town Twentysixpercentia.

@Parallel 5ths (Jewish Steel):
Okay, I freely admit to having my wild moments in college, but that is seriously kinky right there.
And yeah, I think it’s just been that kind of day. The logic contortions of mclaren were some of the best comedy I’ve seen here in awhile. Plus an old acquaintance delurked. Life ain’t too bad.
Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN)
@Parallel 5ths (Jewish Steel): Did you file for a restraining order against your entire neighborhood?
MikeJ
Rats. I had guessed they’d sail out of Seattle, but they’re going to good ol’ soçialist Vancouver instead.
Not that I want to be around those people, but when you know the sheep are coming you can prepare some way to fleece them.
Parallel 5ths (Jewish Steel)
@Yutsano: If the blog was a conscious being (and only google knows for sure how far away that day is), I think it would sleep soundly tonight secure in the knowledge that it had done its job to the fullest today.
The mclaren translations was really an oscar worthy performance. I’m hoping he can do a little more decoding work in the future.
Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN)
@MikeJ: Why does Wing Nut Daily hate America?
Yutsano
@MikeJ: I have complete faith in the Canuckistanis to do a thorough job of grifting our idiot rubes. Bonus points if Harper sends them off.
Parallel 5ths (Jewish Steel)
@Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN): I keep a close watch on em. And parade my three lunatic basenjis through the hood every day. Just so they don’t forget. Mutually Assured Destruction.

i think the prospect of being sharpened and edified, or is it eddyfied,by alan keyes while stuck on a boat, would be enough to make me nostalgic for the flat earth that never was.
piratedan
maybe they’ll anchor on the site of the Exxon Valdez disaster and sing a sea chanty recounting the old times without the EPA, a real cumbuyya’ll kinda moment.
MikeJ
@piratedan: They’ll have a seminar on how it’s too bad there’s no such thing as global warming since it would make Alaska more inviting.
cat48
It’s a Birther Cruise! WND is Birther Central…wonder if Trumps going?
Tissue Thin Pseudonym (JMN)
@cat48: If it’s a Birther cruise, maybe I could . . . never mind.

Do you think we could chip in enough money to have DougJ go and troll this event?
Joseph Nobles
You know, I find this cruise ludicrous as well. But something about these studied cretins pooh-poohing global warming while they sit there watching the glaciers crumble is just off-putting.
ETA: I mean, seriously, I worked aboard a cruise ship for three months in Alaska, and I’ve got pictures where I can visibly measure the Mendenhall receding in that short space of time. Thank goodness it’s World Nut Daily doing this, because the only reason to be caught by their madness is because you want to be.

A quarter says that there ain’t gonna be no worthwhile bennies to score on that trip.
Also, too, hearing aids can always be turned down to suppress the sound of creaking bones, should anything unchristian go down anyway.

I can’t sleep. I keep having thoughts & stuff.

“Cruise” always makes me think of the late, awesome David Foster Wallace.
My grandmother and her two sisters, 92, 88 and 85 years old, took 2 cruises last year. One 5 day Carib and 1 2-weeker in Alaska. Grandma says no more long trips because that airport nonsense is seriously getting on her nerves these days.

@MikeJ: Not to mention “sailing the pristine and majestic Alaska coastline” and complaining to each other about the lack of offshore drilling rigs.

Well it only took me a couple months to figure this out. I knew a prominent Republican had given Qaddafi a peace medal. It was Rep. Curt Weldon.

Good Morning, Yesterday the President gave a serious and courageous speech and it appears no one noticed how serious and courageous it was. That darn liberal media.
Jay Schiavone
“,,,pristine and majestic Alaska coastline.” What is the lunatic refrain of their patron saint? “Drill, baby, drill!” I guess they want to see the coastline in person in order to enhance their pleasure in destroying it.
Snarki, child of Loki
@RossinDetroit: me either…the Gilligan’s Island theme song just keeps running through my head.

What is it about cruises with these people? Do they on some level realize that the only way anyone’s going to listen to them for a week is to trap them with no escape?
Penh
Man, if I had a pet Kraken, I know where I’d be taking her for summer vacation. The S.S. Wingnut — crunchy on the outside, soft and crazy on the inside!
Xenocrates
Unless Andrew Breitbart and James O’Keefe are invited, I’m staying home! Actually, the “windowless stateroom” sounds about right for me. Why the devil would I want to waste vast sums of money to cruise with the likes of Alan Keyes and Joseph Farrah? For the lulz? There won’t be any…
Matt
With any luck, the teabagger cruise organizers will refuse to recognize sanitation regulations and everybody on the ship will get the runs – leaving them just *slightly* less full of BS than usual. :)
TenguPhule
If ever there should be a tragic accident with a misdirected armed Predator drone, it should be at this cruise.

@Starfish: Secret Undercover Agent DougJ — I like it.
