Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The “burn-it-down” people are good with that until they become part of the kindling.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

The Giant Orange Man Baby is having a bad day.

If you can’t control your emotions, someone else will.

When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. ~Thomas Jefferson

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

We still have time to mess this up!

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Republicans in disarray!

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

That meeting sounds like a shotgun wedding between a shitshow and a clusterfuck.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

Fundamental belief of white supremacy: white people are presumed innocent, minorities are presumed guilty.

President Musk and Trump are both poorly raised, coddled 8 year old boys.

The lights are all blinking red.

Let’s delete this post and never speak of this again.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

I really should read my own blog.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

The fight for our country is always worth it. ~Kamala Harris

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

We are learning that “working class” means “white” for way too many people.

Rot In Hell

Rot in Hell, Idi Amin. I am sure Chomsky, Ramsey Clark, and some gun control enthusiasts are upset, but the rest of the world will look at your cold, lifeless carcass with profound glee. My only regret is that your death was from natural causes, rather than the result of due process. I guess you will have to get yours in the afterlife.

Michele’s Questions

by John Cole|  August 10, 200310:25 pm| 3 Comments

This post is in: Open Threads

Michele wants some answers to some basic questions:

1. If you were a tree, what kind of dog would piss on you?

Who cares? I just wish the birds would stop crapping on me.

2. Do these pants make my ass look fat?

Why don’t you take them off so I can compare?

3. What’s your stance on sporks?

I prefer to stir my vodka tonics with a straw, but in a pinch a spork will do.

4. You’re the presidential candidate for a viable third political party. What’s it called and who’s your running mate?

“I’ll be honest- We are going to lie to you” and my veep would be PJ O’Rourke.

5. Why do birds suddenly appear?

To eat the worms that fattened up on Karen Carpenter.

I saw this Hockenberry piece about Dean Kamen’s IBOT tonight on NBC (I remember it being on MSNBC a while back), and it is just as amazing the second time around.

Just a reminder, have your Blog Awards submissions in by 18 August. The original post is here with rules and categories, and I have also included it below for your ease.

show full post on front page

It is August, and other than some flatulence from Al Gore and some chaos in California, news is slow. Thus we are going to have some Blogger Awards. You, my friends, get to participate. All you have to do is cut and paste the awards into an email to me, [email protected], send it to me by Monday, 18 August, and I will tally them and put them up. Please include the url of the bloggers you are voting for in your email with “BLOG AWARDS” in the subject line, as well as your blog name (if you have one). Winners will be rewarded with permalinks for a month. If I don’t get 50 submissions, I am not going to bother tallying them. Here are the categories:

Blogiversary

by John Cole|  August 8, 200311:18 pm| Leave a Comment

This post is in: Excellent Links

Everyone head over to Kesher Talk and say congratulations on their Blogiversary. Kesher Talk, IMHO, is one of the more under-rated websites in the blogosphere, and I really need to start linking to them more often. They do great work, so make sure you go and tell them.
