Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

We still have time to mess this up!

Reality always gets a vote in the end.

Too little, too late, ftfnyt. fuck all the way off.

The media handbook says “controversial” is the most negative description that can be used for a Republican.

You don’t get rid of your umbrella while it’s still raining.

Giving in to doom is how authoritarians win.

“In this country American means white. everybody else has to hyphenate.”

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

I desperately hope that, yet again, i am wrong.

A tremendous foreign policy asset… to all of our adversaries.

Every reporter and pundit should have to declare if they ever vacationed with a billionaire.

People are complicated. Love is not.

I don’t recall signing up for living in a dystopian sci-fi novel.

So many bastards, so little time.

They spent the last eight months firing professionals and replacing them with ideologues.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

“Perhaps I should have considered other options.” (head-desk)

Balloon Juice, where there is always someone who will say you’re doing it wrong.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

The National Guard is not Batman.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

Daily Pundit has a new link, and when I went to switch it on my template I noticed I had never added Mr. Quick. That was a atragic oversight, and I apologize to you readers, because you have been missing out. The link should work now, and for those of you who just want the url, here it is:

http://www.iw3p.com/DailyPundit/dailypundit.htm

I wonder how many other worthy blogs I have omitted while thinking I have them linked?

I have been informed by my friends that reprogramming my cable box so that CNNSI, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNNEWS, and the Fox Sports Networks no longer show up so that I don’t accidently surf through channels and hear about the G** D***** Patriots and the Steelers loss is immature and that I should get over it.

My stance is it isn’t, and I won’t. I will put them back in rotation in a couple weeks after that big game.

Jason Soon highlights some remarks made by our Aussie Allies, and links it to Jonah Goldberg’s ‘looking for trouble essay a couple of days ago. The whole piece is about Aussie’s very own John Walker, David Hicks. Go give it a read.

Dawson also has a brand spanking new layout. And we like what he has to say (when he says something- which hasn’t been often lately). At any rate, it looks great, and I really need to do something about my layout here.

Workers World Online has a brand spanking new layout, and they also have this delicious op-ed by convicted murderer, degenerate rabble-rouser, and soon to be (hopefully) compost heap Mumia Abu Jamal.

At any rate, Mumia opines that War is big business.

He seems to be taking the lead of Ted Rall, but what is most offensive is that he perceives that the ONLY reason we are in Afghanistan is for oil (a dubious assertion in it’s own right). No mention of 9/11, no mention of the horrors of the Taliban, no mention of Al-Qaeda.

These people are just sickening.
