Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

Never give a known liar the benefit of the doubt.

Hey hey, RFK, how many kids did you kill today?

It’s a good piece. click on over. but then come back!!

I might just take the rest of the day off and do even more nothing than usual.

If you don’t believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom, it is privilege.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

Jack Smith: “Why did you start campaigning in the middle of my investigation?!”

Beware of advice from anyone for whom Democrats are “they” and not “we.”

I’m starting to think Jesus may have made a mistake saving people with no questions asked.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

You passed on an opportunity to be offended? What are you even doing here?

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

The lights are all blinking red.

“In this country American means white. everybody else has to hyphenate.”

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Depression

Sorry, but I don’t feel like blogging today. I don’t feel like doing anything today.

Life sucks. IF we had done anything more than winning the coin toss, I could accept this. But that was just a total collapse.

I feel your pain John, but try to look on the bright side. You have a young, up and coming QB (even if he faded somewhat down the stretch). The Bus my retire, but you still have Staley. The defence will still be solid and your stable of receivers is pretty sweet. The Steelers are on the upside of multi-season run here. Take it from a die hard Packer fan, where it is very clear that we are on the down slope of ours.

Sounds like a case of Post Playoff Loss Stress Disorder. My advice to you, John, is to take today, drink heavily, and move on.

John I feel your pain (my blog wears black today). I didn’t sleep well last night and I am in a bad mood today. The what might have beens can eat you up.

But I think it is unfair to call it a total collapse. The turnovers simply changed the nature of the game. I am as biased as they come, but I think the defense played rather well considering. You just can’t play the same way when you are down 21 points and when the offense gives the ball up 4 times to a very good team. The Steelers were not designed to get into a shootout in which they were constantly behind.

Face it, it is nearly impossible to take a rookie QB to the Super Bowl. It has never been done. heck the youngest QB to ever play in the SB was Brady I think and he was 24. Ben is 22.

The pain is real but so is the season. Remember last year at 6-10? What would you rather have?

Well, you could always tell yourself “it’s just a damned game, played by a bunch of millionaires who wouldn’t give me the time of day if it’d save my life”.

Which would have the added benefit of being true.

Steelers’ game plan was faulty. Roethlesberger (?sp) is a rookie. Cowher has a penchant for sticking too long with what does not work. Wait till next year!

I feel your pain (most intensely, see Super Bowl XXXVII). But I kept my promise and rooted for the Steelers – a first in this lifetime – until the bitter end.

I guess we’re all Eagles fans for the next 2 weeks, huh?

No, I’m a Patriots fan next week.

Why? I can’t stand the Eagles. Even if it means the Patriots have to win, I am very much against those annoying fans.

I wouldn’t have been this way if my family hadn’t moved to the Philly area. I’m sure they are being harassed AS WE SPEAK by Eagles fans. Fans who are too smug for their own good. Go Patriots.
