The GOP Race

So the GOP race is apparently now wide open, and I would put money on Romney from here on out. The base hates McCain, and already efforts are underway to swift boat him (via Oliver):

“Today, a shadowy political organization calling itself ‘Vietnam Veterans Against McCain’ launched a vicious attack on John McCain in an attempt to impugn his character in the closing days of the South Carolina Republican Primary,” Orson Swindle, who was a fellow prisoner of war in Vietnam with Mr. McCain, said in a statement put out by the campaign. “The group claims that John McCain turned his back on his fellow POWs in order to save his own skin.”

I think his campaign has already peaked, and it will be all downhill for him. Huckabee is so much of a fraud that I find it impossible to believe he could last, so it really looks like the deep pockets and the institutional love for the establishment Romney will carry him to victory.

Are we looking at Romney/Huckabee 2008?

I don’t generally delete comments, and I think I have banned under ten people since this website was started (half of whom I then let back after a few weeks), but one idiot I have banned repeatedly, he keeps coming back with a new IP, I ban him again, rinse and repeat. The Canadian in Me

I am watching the hockey game tonight. Montreal Canadiens vs. the New York Islanders. So far, Canadiens are up 3-2. I hate the Habs. I remember rooting for the Soviets with my dad when they played Montreal many, many years ago.

On the upside, Toronto is beating Carolina 5-3 with 7:11 lft in the 3rd. Nashville is beating Calgary. Bah.

Atlanta 4. Detroit 1. 3rd period. I AM an Atlanta fan.

Time For Another Fundraiser

Maybe when the brain trust at Red State finish raising their eleventy bilion dollars to revamp their website, they can hold another fundraiser for the Department of Justice. Check out this pathetic excuse given to TPM for why they (TPM) were removed from the email list that sends our press releases and can not be added back:

I appreciated your desire to be in tune with DOJ press releases, however, unfortunately I am not able to add you to our distribution list. As you may realize we have a lot of requests to be put on our media lists and we simply are not able to put everyone on the list. We do however have all our press releases on our website and update them the minute they are released so I would suggest looking there. You can also always call us with press inquiries. Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez remains public enemy No. 1 in West Virginia.

If today’s reports from West Virginia newspapers are true, with the first one emerging from the Charleston (W. Va.) Gazette, the hatred is about to reach a new level.

The initial Gazette report, which cited an unnamed source, said that Rodriguez “destroyed all or most of the paperwork filed relating to every player on the Mountaineer roster and virtually all of the activities conducted by the programs over the past seven years.”

Rodriguez and Michigan officials were unavailable for comment this morning.

I hope he goes 0-11 and loses to THE OHIO STATE by 90 points.

Sully is now linking Captain Ed and praising his honesty for… a post blaming Hillary Clinton for Richard Cohen’s noxious attack on Obama in the WaPo today.

You see how that works- Cohen churns out a true piece of excrement, Ed blames Hillary, Sully praises Ed for… candor.

From here on out, I suggest we just blame Hillary for everything. Stub your toe- yell “GOD DAMNIT, HILLARY.”

Bad weather- “WHY WON’T YOU LEAVE OBAMA ALONE, HILLARY?”

Christ, I don’t even like her, but I have never seen such an over-the-top effort to trash someone as I have seen launched at Hillary the past few weeks. We have reached the height of absurdity, and the Obama fanboy nonsense is bordering on the unhinged.

I am officially writing in the Dodd. I don’t give a shit what Hillary and Obama do to each other in the next few weeks, but I am sure it will be all Hillary’s fault. Everything is, isn’t it?
