Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

Humiliatingly small and eclipsed by the derision of millions.

The republican speaker is a slippery little devil.

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

The republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

Steelers Open Thread

Steelers take on KC today, and hoping for a big bounce-back win this week after their loss to the Bengals last Sunday. Speaking of which, JenJen and I had a little wager. I lost, and unfortunately, there are no stores in the area that sell infant or cat-sized Bengals apparel, so I couldn’t follow all the way through with my bet, but I do offer this:

ochotuncho

The innocents always suffer the most. I just hope his namesake, Tunch Ilkin, never has to see this.

Gardening Question

This post is in: Garden Chats

Along one of the areas I walk Lily is a patch of wild mint (and before the jokes start, no, “wild mint” is not code for marijuana) that I want to transplant. It is some of the strongest stuff I have ever smelled or tasted- a deep, rich green leaf with so much oil that just touching it and your hands smell like mint for hours. Far stronger than any of the stuff I grew in my herb garden and far better than anything you can get in the store. I just love it in my tea, and pick a little every time I walk by it.

At any rate, how would I go about transplanting it? Can plants get “soil shock” or whatever it is called if you move them from one soil to another (like fish when you move them to new aquariums)? I know my dad used to be able to grow things in a vase of water and replant them, but I never figured out the specifics. Or am I over-thinking this and I should just dig it up and throw it in the ground where I want it?

RIP UGA VII

by John Cole|  November 22, 200910:33 am| 22 Comments

This post is in: Sports

This is sad:

Uga VII, the English bulldog mascot of the University of Georgia, died unexpectedly Thursday morning in Savannah of “heart related causes,” the school’s athletic association said.

Uga VII, 4, made his first official sideline appearance Bulldogs’ mascot on Aug. 30, 2008, replacing his father, Uga VI, who had died during the previous offseason. Georgia officials said a replacement mascot will not be named for the Nov. 21 contest vs. Kentucky, but a wreath will be placed on Uga VII’s doghouse near the east endzone.

Uga VII’s given name was Loran’s Best, in honor of longtime UGA football sideline reporter Loran Smith. He was the shortest tenured official mascot, replacing his father, who was the winningest Georgia mascot.

Although, if you have been following Georgia football this season, their play has killed more than just UGA VII. My mother is a Georgia grad, so all of the kids have always been fans of Georgia (I really only watch WVU and Georgia as far as college football), and of course we love UGA.

Kind of sad

I never thought that Luke Wilson would win an Oscar, but it’s kind of sad to see him doing those ads for AT&T. And I say that as a dedicated (locked in for 20 more months of AT&T “service”) user.

Can we all now agree that the whole Anderson/Wilson juggernaut was a big failure?

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you Tammy’s masterpiece tonight. Behold, the tacosagne:

tacosagne

That is right. Multiple layers of refried beans, taco meat, cheese, salsa, rice and beans, all topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa verde, baked until perfection.

I’m in a food coma.
