This post is in: 

School ended for me last week and now I’m on the road, probably with poor internet til mid-July. My current connection is too slow for me to do things like read articles and give links to them. Steve M, Zandar, and Libby Spencer will be guest blogging for me for the busiest stretch of this, starting in about a month.

In the meantime, let’s hope that not everyone here spends the next month dicking around with slats in their bed and such.

    If you are traveling and depending on hotspots wifi to get online, you gotta get one of these

    I been piggbacking on a router sig over 100 yards away with five solid green bars for a couple of months. (apartment landlord gave me key) Before, with my laptop wifi adapter, I got one green bar.

    Just recently took a little trip down into the boothill of NM, and southeast AZ, that very people live. And this little gizmo had me hooked onto several signals, one up to a half mile away at a tiny library in Portal AZ.

    It’s redistricting vote time in Illinois, which is an absolute bloodsport. The Senate map was released today, and in it, I lose my asshole Republican Senator! Hooray! And they merged the Minority Leader’s district with another Republican, which is just a delicious poke in the eye.

    for just 29 bucks, one time cost, I have saved two months of comcast bill at 60/mo, so saved already about 90 bucks, and that will increase by 60 each month it remains available.

    somedays it drop signals, but I just tape it to another part of the window and everything is fine.

    DougJ: I read SteveM at his site (No More Mr. Nice Blog) and I’ve read Zander there (when he subs for SteveM) and at a few other places. I like them. I think they’ll work out fine here at BJ. I’ve not read Libby Spencer but I look forward to reading her.
