Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Battle won, war still ongoing.

This fight is for everything.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

Republicans don’t want a speaker to lead them; they want a hostage.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Fuck the extremist election deniers. What’s money for if not for keeping them out of office?

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

The willow is too close to the house.

Let there be snark.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

The republican caucus is already covering themselves with something, and it’s not glory.

No one could have predicted…

Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.

You cannot shame the shameless.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

Accountability, motherfuckers.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

I swear.  No politics at all.

That ripping sound is the universe rending itself apart, its purpose finally fulfilled.

I lied.  That Prick Bastard John McCain staged a press conference today to demogog Benghazi, but he didn’t bother to attend the classified briefing on it.

Just wanted to thank all the Balloon Juicers for their good wishes in an earlier thread on the coming grandbaby.

I’m happy to report that Olivia Juliet was delivered via C-section at 7:31 tonight, and that mom, dad, and baby are all doing wonderfully (but a little tired).

    Pictures tomorrow!

Of course he didn’t attend the briefing. If he had known some facts, he couldn’t demagogue the hell out of it without knowingly telling untruths. By remaining deliberately ignorant, he was only telling untruths unknowingly. That’s very important to him, because lying is wrong but bullshitting is fine.

Yes indeedy, fuck politics with razorwire.

Amazingly, there are now four good movies in the theaters at the same time. Four good American-made movies. That’s astounding. I haven’t seen that since…I dunno…1995? A long loooooooooooooooooooooong time.

The following movies kick ass & take names:

    LOOPER

    SKYFALL

    ARGO

    SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS

I still have to pinch myself. Four movies made in America that are actually worth paying money to see. Damn! Usually, Shithole America doesn’t make four movies worth seeing in four years.

Argo is a brilliant film. Best movie of the year so far, IMHO.

Looper was decent, not as much fun or as thrilling as Argo.

Cats are not able to enjoy cheeseburgers. None of my cats has any interest in cooked red meat, actually. This is a fraud.

What cats want, really, is Fancy Feast (green can) with extra broth or with creamy Florentine sauce–preferably fish.

Mine seems to be very happy with chicken breast or turkey skin, and he has something of a taste for carnitas. He seems to have no interest in dark red meat, cooked or raw. Other cats I’ve met seem to like trout skin.

That would be the same American movie that was shot in the UK (with a few scenes in other countries that don’t include the US) featuring a British director filming a British actor as one of the most iconic British characters of all time? Yeah, great American flick, that one.

Oh, good. My cat wants to eat whatever I’m eating. She is convinced that I am keeping all the good stuff, Romney-style.* Won’t drink milk but craves all dairy products, especially when she can lick them off my plate which she waits for at every meal.
