It’s time for Obama to channel his inner Django. With all this bullshit sharting around Benghazi, it should be clear to him he must stop being the appeaser. It’s time to break those slave chains and go for the fucking throat of every fucking war criminal, heckling him from the audience. Start with Guantanamo, and shove that shiv right up their white power orifice.
Yeah, yeah. I’ll bet you said the same thing about this video.

This guy is more than an Antoine Dotson or Sweet Brown. He is a genuine hero who truly went beyond what most of us would have done to turn up these girls. I hate that this is going to be his legacy.
I’m not a big fan of this – most folks wouldn’t get this treatment. Let him speak in his own words and leave it at that. He may seem like more than a bit of a character to a lot of people who never actually encounter guys like him, but he’s not a joke. And his observations are coming from a very honest POV. The context of this entire episode is horrific and he’s the one guy who did the right thing when he found himself in an unexpected situation. He’s a good man. I don’t believe this is intentionally malicious – “good humor” and all that – but it’s kind of creepy and disrespectful IMHO.

The guy is a hero, the girls who kept trying to escape are heroes. I think Mr. Ramsey is obviously a pretty regular guy who does not stand down and does not walk away. So, it will take more than one of these ‘mash-ups’ (is that what you dang kids call it?) to turn him into a clown.
Anyway, the story will get even uglier. Looks like there were more pregnancies. Where are the other kids? Looks like they died and are buried in the backyard.
Unless the neighbors who have been interviewed are lying about multiple calls about trouble at the house (including sighting of a naked woman crawling in the backyard), the cops should have done more than knock on the door.
On the subject of awesome videos, this Audi commercial is fan-freakin-tastic (and if you are a Star Trek fan, you MUST click on that link). (H/t commenter Lawhawk at LGF.)
I’ve never been a fan of these “hilarious” Black neighbor videos that become viral hits. And I try to delete them from my timeline when I can. There is something too racialized about the whole process and I’ve never been one to find autotuning shit like that funny. All I think is imagine if you will if youtube was what it was today back when Katrina happened. Now how many of those “Hilarious” autotuned videos would I appreciate as a NOLA native/Katrina survivor? I’d be and you’d be pissed too. So naw keep your autotuning BS thank you.
ETA: I tell ya also, in hindsight, I’m happy that we did not have twitter, facebook, myspace, whatever during Katrina, cause I just don’t even want to imagine the snark, the buzzfeed links, the twitterverse who think they are comedians and the RWNJ all creaming the way they seem to do nowadays
Also – why “Clown Shoes.” A lot of folks who will laugh at this aren’t fit to shine this man’s shoes.
This. Cole should be filing this thread under “Post-racial America”.
If anyone is laughing at that video I hope it is nervous, uncomfortable laughter. If you truly find it ha!ha! funny then something is badly wrong with you.

Listen, asshole. I don’t know what your b’day is but I think you may have been a student at Newtown, becuz your rationale is based on infantile breast-sucking which concluded much too late, and made you somewhat OCD about your failed connection to those who actually did something, even if it was getting stoned and listening to sounds. Mebbe you can reach that bar someday, but I doubt your need for teat, will allow.

Sorry–didn’t realize one had to be signed in to see details. Agree that’s annoying as heck. (It’s a great 4-CD collection of SF Bay area bands–tiny and huge–from the 60s. This morning’s LA set sold out too fast.)
Unless the neighbors who have been interviewed are lying about multiple calls about trouble at the house (including sighting of a naked woman crawling in the backyard), the cops should have done more than knock on the door.
Yes. I just saw an interview with a neighbor on Al Sharpton’s show & he said that after the cops were called about the naked woman, the kidnapper put tarps up all over the back yard, so that no-one could see in. Not suspicious at all, there, Cleveland PD!
“I don’t even want it,” Ramsey said of the attention. “They keep saying I’m a hero. Let me tell you something, I’m an American, and I’m a human being. I’m just like you. I work for a living. There was a woman in distress, so why turn your back on that?”
I thought the original raw video of his interview was great, but to me this remix version is incredibly powerful, and not remotely funny.
I agree – only one who is a joke – in the original and the remix is the white dude who tried to walk away the reality

I don’t know. There’s something about auto-tuning it that makes me focus more on the social implications of what he said. He’s both awesome for being a stand up guy and for saying something depressingly true about race relations. YMMV.

Charles Ramsey is to be commended for his actions. What I found interesting is his decision to come to the aid of a woman who was calling for help. He responded because he thought it might be a case of domestic violence. If there were more people like Charles Ramsey there might be less domestic violence.
The news played part of the 911 call from the woman he assisted. My impression was the 911 operator appeared more interested in getting her off the line than in helping her. If this is the standard of assistance given to people in Cleveland, no wonder the women were kept hostage for 10 yrs and not found.
Charles Ramsey did the right thing. He is the type of person you would hope would be there if you every needed help.
