Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“And when the Committee says to “report your income,” that could mean anything!

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Let me file that under fuck it.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

This fight is for everything.

The current Supreme Court is a rogue court. Very dangerous.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

He imagines himself as The Big Bad, Who Is Universally Feared… instead of The Big Jagoff, Who Is Universally Mocked.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. let’s win this.

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Bogus polls are all they’ve got left. Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls a year from now.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

Many life forms that would benefit from greater intelligence, sadly, do not have it.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

I won’t even watch another Texans game this year. The team is just too awful, and I am definitely a fair-weather Houston fan (an artifact of the Oilers days). Plus I don’t want to ruin my Iron Bowl high.

    Browns over Jaguars. Check.
    Vikings over Bears? Nah.
I’ll go with the Titans over the Colts. The Colts seems to have thrown a shoe.
    Cards over Eagles. Check.
    49ers over Rams. Likely.
Broncos over Chiefs? Ugh, I think you might be right, hope you aren’t.
Bucs over Panthers? Hell if I know. I keep forgetting Tampa Bay has a football team.
    Pats over Texans. Uh, yeah.
Jets over Dolphins? Going for the upset: the manic-depressive Jets pull one out.
Bills over Falcons. That’s in Toronto, isn’t it? Hrmm. Going with the Bills in a squeaker.
Chargers over Bengals? Other way around, I expect.
Giants over Redskins? Seems like Shanahan’s tenure is in a death spiral over there, so yeah. I’m hoping the Redskins pull it out, though, because Giants.
    Saints over Seahawks. Totally unsure.

Picking the Vikings to beat the Bears definitely falls into the “wild guess” category.

As for the Saints defeating the Seahawks in Seattle, that goes into the “wild and crazy wishful thinking, of the same degree as speculation about a ‘President Palin'” category, for sure.

  24. 24.

    Yatsuno

    December 1, 2013 at 2:46 pm

@Nethead Jay: Saints aren’t used to loud when they have the ball though. And it’s supposed to snow in Seattle tomorrow night. Seahacks have been practicing outdoors, hope the Saints can work on something similar. It should be an interesting game regardless.

They’re trying for the noise record tomorrow as well. It’ll be wild.

We’ll see, just saying I don’t think that’ll be the deciding factor. Yeah, looked at the weather forecast and I don’t like it, but you bet they’ve been practicing for that, it was one of the significant factors a few years ago in the playoffs and Sean Payton remembers that. The one thing that could counterbalance that is that Seahawks defense seems a little weakened and you know that’s catnip to Saints offense. Anyway, as you say, it should be an interesting game no matter what.

    re:Saints
I don’t think the noise will be much more of a factor than it ever is. But the Saints, you know I love ’em, but they regularly tank in cold weather. A Saints fan’s worst nightmare is a clutch game in an open-air stadium up north in the winter. Hell, I watched the Jets smack us around just a month ago.

Watched the Ravens-Steelers Thursday and it was not the crazy rules and resets on that last drive,or Timlin acting like a child but the 3 left tackles and knocked out back losing his helmet.

I cheer for the Seahawks because I have lived in this area from the 1940s through the 1980s; and retired here. With the exception of the Seattle Supersonics NBA team, we had no big time pro sports. Thus, we normally picked teams from other areas to cheer for. My choice was usually the opposite of my older brother; e.g., he was a Brooklyn Dodger (soon to become Los Angeles Dodger) fan; I was a New York Yankee fan. He was a Bart Starr and Packer fan; I was a Unitas and Colt fan. Thus, when we finally got an NFL team, it was truly exciting. I cheered for them through all the lean years (something Detroit fans can understand). Now, that we have a really good team, it is truly exciting and enjoyable to find out what winning is all about. Of course, we don’t have the Supersonics any more (boo on OKC) and the Mariners only had a brief stint as winners. But, I also remember when New Orleans Saints fans found their team so embarrassing that they wore bags over their heads and referred to the team as the “Ain’ts”. So, I am happy for New Orleans, too; but, I hope we clobber the Saints on Monday night . . . or win by a whisker.
