Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

Nothing says ‘pro-life’ like letting children go hungry.

Disappointing to see gov. newsom with his finger to the wind.

Everybody saw this coming.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Every reporter and pundit should have to declare if they ever vacationed with a billionaire.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

There are no moderate republicans – only extremists and cowards.

Also, are you sure you want people to rate your comments?

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

America is going up in flames. The NYTimes fawns over MAGA celebrities. No longer a real newspaper.

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

People really shouldn’t expect the government to help after they watched the GOP drown it in a bathtub.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

When they say they are pro-life, they do not mean yours.

When you’re a Republican, they let you do it.

Fight for a just cause, love your fellow man, live a good life.

I’m not going to pick a team today because, as yesterday showed, I’m clearly a jinx.

Turned on the TV to hear the pre-game and landed on CNN, where Jake Tapper was interviewing Trump. I’m not a fan of Tapper, who is a sanctimonious sumbitch. He made a fool of himself over PBO’s alleged fall from the non-smoking bandwagon, IMO.

Well, it looks like the incident where Trump mocked the NYT reporter who has a disability is Tapper’s current hobbyhorse, and after taking Trump’s campaign flak on over it a few weeks ago, he grilled Trump about it today.(Obviously Trump’s appalling behavior is a legit target of Tapper’s ire, unlike PBO’s ciggies.)

Trump made up a laughably obvious lie, insisting that he was mimicking a person “groveling” rather than doing what he was clearly doing. Just a big, fat whopper.

Anyway, fuck that lying sack of shit. It’s football time!

Must be why you plastered an enormous Seahawks logo up there.

I have a feeling this is the end of the line for them. They’ve shown flashes of their old selves this season but no consistency, and nothing but a completely clean effort will work today, and they’re already in a huge hole.

I think CAR has been mostly over-achieving against a pretty soft schedule and is not as good as a one loss team should probably be. However, I have no faith in the SEA offense at this point of the season. Their D is still aggressive but don’t think they can overcome a very poor showing by the SEA O.

You’re probably right about the Seachickens — it’s not looking good for them so far. But I hope they come back and beat the Panthers.

Getting beat physically and blowing coverages. Can’t survive both.

I’ll just throw it out right now that blown coverages have been a big problem for the Seahawks this season. Not sure if it’s the new defensive coordinator doing something wrong or other teams finally noticing something to exploit or just coincidence, but simple blown coverage cost them at least two games. Today it’s already cost them but mostly they’re just flat and Carolina is bringing everything they’ve got.

I don’t think there is any huge offseason change needed, I think they’re just pooped from the long season, the cross-country travel, shooting all those TV commercials, and so on. It’s very difficult to maintain that level of intensity game after game, year after year, this is Carolina’s year.
