Craig Silverman, a former chief deputy district attorney in Denver and talk-show host on the conservative 710 KNUS radio station, said he was fired mid-show Saturday after criticizing President Donald Trump.

Silverman was in the middle of a segment about Roy Cohn, Trump’s former personal attorney, when he suddenly was interrupted by network news, he told The Denver Post.

Silverman’s producer threw his hands up in the air, indicating it wasn’t him.

Instead, program director Kelly Michaels came through the door.   “You’re done,” Silverman recounted Michaels as saying.

This has been a big week for my fellow Craig Silverman, @craigscolorado. He also won a big settlement for a legal client. And as always, he has an excellent moustache. https://t.co/3ZqiDObOO0

Who knows? I listened to like 10 seconds of Fucker Carlson this morning and that was enough for me. Just a total string of lies about the Dems “trying to nullify American democracy”. What a fucking crock. Absolute lunacy.

It turns out you don’t need the media to be state-owned for it to toe the party line

Though to be fair, who besides an every shrinking audience of beer-gut blowhards listens to talk radio anymore?

That’s sad to hear about Warren. Though this is just one poll. Honestly, I think I’d rather Biden be in the lead than Buttigieg if I had to choose between them. He comes across as such a phony to me and black voters absolutely do not like him. He may do well in an overwhelmingly white state, but the SC primary along with other southern states will probably be a different story.

I didn’t like the brouhaha with his “Douglass Plan” where his campaign apparently misrepresented not only the level of black support for it, but also made it seem as if prominent black politicians in SC had endorsed his candidacy

Horowitz is described as a “straight shooter” and idiots on Twitter say he’s going to expose the witnesses, such Marie Yovanovitch, Bill Taylor, Vindman etc., in the impeachment hearings as “partisan tools”.

I’m afraid the GOP is going to use that report to try to legitimize “Spygate” and completely delegitimize not only the various Russia investigations but derail the current impeachment investigation

@??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??: I’ve heard it said that the only poll that matters is the one that happens on election day. I’m a Warren supporter who also gave money to Buttigieg, Castro, Harris, and Inslee.  And somehow, while being fairly partisan for Warren I have made my peace & will happily support whomever winds up being the D nominee (with the exception of TG–cannot go there).  At this point I think any of them can beat Trump.  And though I have my policy, personality, and persistence issues (or more like rankings) for all of the remaining candidates, they are all generally heading in the same  direction in terms of where they want to take the country.

So I say stop worrying, support your candidate, and stay mentally and physically healthy because whoever winds up being the nominee is going to need all of on deck and working at 110%.

    From The American Conservative:

…Trump’s action undermines military discipline. It sends a horrible message that U.S. forces will be allowed to get away with anything. Finally, it insults the hundreds of thousands of other people that have served honorably in the military. Trump probably thinks that by pardoning accused and convicted war criminals he is proving how “pro-military” he is, but by doing this he is showing blatant disrespect for the military’s own practices and system of justice.
    [snip]
…As in everything else, the president doesn’t respect the laws governing the conduct of military personnel in war, and he doesn’t have a problem with the men that break those laws. On the contrary, he takes the side of the war criminals. Source

@??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??: I actually think Horowitz’s “straight shooter” rep has taken some hits over how he carried out the McCabe investigation and the way he was planning on dealing with dissenting opinions on the report Barr will be releasing.  I am not holding my breath over what the report will say, but I’m pretty sure it will have a pro-Trump thumb on the scale bias.  Here is an article on the dissenting opinions issue:

Justice Department watchdog moves to reassure witnesses on Russia investigation report

A forthcoming Justice Department inspector general’s report into the FBI’s handling of the Russia probe is already drawing criticism, weeks before its expected completion, amid concerns that witnesses wouldn’t be given sufficient time to review the document before its release.

As President Donald Trump and his supporters seek to build expectations around the report, which they hope will undermine the investigation that ultimately led to the Mueller report, the Justice Department’s inspector general moved to assure witnesses that they would be able to offer full rebuttals before anything is released.
A spokeswoman for Inspector General Michael Horowitz said that the office is making “every effort to ensure witnesses can provide their comments” and is “clarifying to them that they will be able to provide written comments, consistent with rules to protect classified information.”
Concerns over the comment procedure, seen typically as one of the final steps before the completion of a watchdog report like this, were amplified by a Washington Post story that cited people familiar with the situation who said that some witnesses had only been given an opportunity to offer verbal responses to the draft. That led to speculation that the office, which is designed to operate independently in the Justice Department, was risking accuracy in a rush to roll out the highly anticipated report.

@??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??: The reason Buttigieg isn’t particularly high on my list (he’s around the middle) is I don’t like what I find to be his “technocratic” approach to problem solving (which is one of the reasons his signature project demolishing homes in economically challenged areas in South Bend to make way for new development just made the situation worse for a lot of the low income residents) and his apparent chameleon-like policy stances.

Silverman voted for Trump in 2016 and initially supported the president. But recent comments on Twitter, his radio show and in opinion pieces show his stance on the commander-in-chief has soured.

So he was on-board with kids in cages, POTUS fluffing fascists, and all the rest and just NOW decided there was something worth objecting to? Fuck him – I hope his erstwhile allies ruin his life.

Whoever gets the presidency next is going to have a really hard job—Trump has been dismantling the permanent civil service that allows the US government to function effectively. I can maybe see a state governor or a longer-serving US Senator having the experience to know how to get the government up and running again. I don’t think a mayor of a town of 100k will be able to do it. (South Bend is tiny—it’s only 2/3 the size of my home town of Hayward, CA, and we don’t exactly dominate the Bay Area.)
