Craig Silverman, a former chief deputy district attorney in Denver and talk-show host on the conservative 710 KNUS radio station, said he was fired mid-show Saturday after criticizing President Donald Trump.
Silverman was in the middle of a segment about Roy Cohn, Trump’s former personal attorney, when he suddenly was interrupted by network news, he told The Denver Post.
Silverman’s producer threw his hands up in the air, indicating it wasn’t him.
Instead, program director Kelly Michaels came through the door. “You’re done,” Silverman recounted Michaels as saying.
This has been a big week for my fellow Craig Silverman, @craigscolorado. He also won a big settlement for a legal client. And as always, he has an excellent moustache. https://t.co/3ZqiDObOO0

This is obscene.

Fair warning: the ads on the Denver Post website are extremely obnoxious.

This is not good. Radio stations are thought policing for him. I wonder if another purge at Fox News is coming.

Iowa — Ann Selzer (Gold Standard) – Nov 13 (link)
Pete………..25%
Warren……16%
Biden………15%
Wilmer…….15%
Amy………….6%
Kamala……..3%
Pete breaks open Iowa race with a near double digit lead, while Warren’s momentum stalls out with 79 days left to the fist voting.

This is absolutely disgusting.
@Yutsano:
Who knows? I listened to like 10 seconds of Fucker Carlson this morning and that was enough for me. Just a total string of lies about the Dems “trying to nullify American democracy”. What a fucking crock. Absolute lunacy.
It turns out you don’t need the media to be state-owned for it to toe the party line
Though to be fair, who besides an every shrinking audience of beer-gut blowhards listens to talk radio anymore?

@David ??Booooooo?? Koch:
That’s sad to hear about Warren. Though this is just one poll. Honestly, I think I’d rather Biden be in the lead than Buttigieg if I had to choose between them. He comes across as such a phony to me and black voters absolutely do not like him. He may do well in an overwhelmingly white state, but the SC primary along with other southern states will probably be a different story.
I didn’t like the brouhaha with his “Douglass Plan” where his campaign apparently misrepresented not only the level of black support for it, but also made it seem as if prominent black politicians in SC had endorsed his candidacy

Good thing Silverman didn’t say Trumpov is a lazy, lying traitorous wife-cheating conman bastard. They might have shot him.

@David ??Booooooo?? Koch: So when does Trump withhold aid to Ukraine unless they investigate Mayor Pete?

Does anybody have any opinions about the upcoming DOJ IG report into alleged FISA abuses? Is the IG, Horowitz, to be trusted?

@West of the Rockies:
Horowitz is described as a “straight shooter” and idiots on Twitter say he’s going to expose the witnesses, such Marie Yovanovitch, Bill Taylor, Vindman etc., in the impeachment hearings as “partisan tools”.
I’m afraid the GOP is going to use that report to try to legitimize “Spygate” and completely delegitimize not only the various Russia investigations but derail the current impeachment investigation

@West of the Rockies:
You got that right. It’s frightening to think about what the rest of the world feels about that.

@??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??: I’ve heard it said that the only poll that matters is the one that happens on election day. I’m a Warren supporter who also gave money to Buttigieg, Castro, Harris, and Inslee. And somehow, while being fairly partisan for Warren I have made my peace & will happily support whomever winds up being the D nominee (with the exception of TG–cannot go there). At this point I think any of them can beat Trump. And though I have my policy, personality, and persistence issues (or more like rankings) for all of the remaining candidates, they are all generally heading in the same direction in terms of where they want to take the country.
So I say stop worrying, support your candidate, and stay mentally and physically healthy because whoever winds up being the nominee is going to need all of on deck and working at 110%.
??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??
@Marcopolo:
If Buttigieg ends up being the nominee, I will of course vote for him. Anybody would be better than Trump

@??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??: I actually think Horowitz’s “straight shooter” rep has taken some hits over how he carried out the McCabe investigation and the way he was planning on dealing with dissenting opinions on the report Barr will be releasing. I am not holding my breath over what the report will say, but I’m pretty sure it will have a pro-Trump thumb on the scale bias. Here is an article on the dissenting opinions issue:
Justice Department watchdog moves to reassure witnesses on Russia investigation report

@??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??: The reason Buttigieg isn’t particularly high on my list (he’s around the middle) is I don’t like what I find to be his “technocratic” approach to problem solving (which is one of the reasons his signature project demolishing homes in economically challenged areas in South Bend to make way for new development just made the situation worse for a lot of the low income residents) and his apparent chameleon-like policy stances.

Apparently I am the only person left awake & now it is time for me to go to bed but before that I just want to let folks know that Tedra Cobb has now raised $650,000 as a result of Congresswoman Stefanik’s stunt during the Amb. Yovanovitch hearing. That is a wonderfully ridiculous amount of money!

Before I go to bed a late update on how Tedra Cobb’s (D candidate to flip NY-21) fundraising off of Rep. Elise Stefanik’s hearing stunt on Friday is faring. Cobb has now raised $650,000 (a wonderfully ridiculous amount of money) and has announced a goal of $1M for the weekend.

Station owner needs a can of Fairness Doctrine opened on him.
Jay C
@Trollhattan:
Yeah, well the “station owner” at KNUS in Denver is a company called Salem Media Group, whose website touts their “Christian and conservative” slant upfront: so obviously no “Fairness” need apply.
I’m surprised they’d hire anyone named “Silverman” in the first palce…..
Matt
So he was on-board with kids in cages, POTUS fluffing fascists, and all the rest and just NOW decided there was something worth objecting to? Fuck him – I hope his erstwhile allies ruin his life.

He comes across as John Edwards to me… a little too earnest, clean cut, slick, privileged, overly confident, and a just a little too good to be true. And that worries me. My gut is telling me this meteoric rise means he will become a media darling and won’t get properly vetted.
Kattails
dead thread but Pete visited locally here and had standing room only, now signs up all over the place. My take is that the old hippies have found a replacement young white male for the old white males and can avoid worrying about them pesky womenfolks. Because I’m an old hippie and frankly most of the males of that period were sexist as hell. (here being southern NH)
Miss Bianca
@artem1s: I too thought of John Edwards, another slick white boy who just rubbed me the wrong way while all the Cool Kidz were throwing bouquets around about him.
Just really sick of slick white boys right now and how they get the media eating out of their hands. But as with Edwards, I find myself thinking, “up like the rocket, down like the stick…”

Whoever gets the presidency next is going to have a really hard job—Trump has been dismantling the permanent civil service that allows the US government to function effectively. I can maybe see a state governor or a longer-serving US Senator having the experience to know how to get the government up and running again. I don’t think a mayor of a town of 100k will be able to do it. (South Bend is tiny—it’s only 2/3 the size of my home town of Hayward, CA, and we don’t exactly dominate the Bay Area.)
