Were the impeachment hearings a bank heist movie, Devin Nunes and Derek Harvey (who spent the last two months trying to out the whistleblower), would be known by the term “inside men“:
Lev Parnas, an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani, helped arrange meetings and calls in Europe for Rep. Devin Nunes in 2018, Parnas’ lawyer Ed MacMahon told The Daily Beast.
Nunes aide Derek Harvey participated in the meetings, the lawyer said, which were arranged to help Nunes’ investigative work. MacMahon didn’t specify what those investigations entailed.
Nunes is the top Republican on the House committee handling the impeachment hearings—hearings where Parnas’s name has repeatedly come up.
Congressional records show Nunes traveled to Europe from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, 2018. Three of his aides—Harvey, Scott Glabe, and George Pappas—traveled with him, per the records. U.S. government funds paid for the group’s four-day trip, which cost just over $63,000.
The travel came as Nunes, in his role on the House Intelligence Committee, was working to investigate the origins of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election meddling.
To restate, the two Republicans heading Trump’s defense are a crook and a guy who covers for rapists.

Two Cole posts in a row? He must really love that new blog smell!
Wag
That’s ok. It makes Trump feel like his defenders understand him.

@clay: Dang, you beat me to it! I was going to ask who this John Cole guy who keeps posting all the time is. Before you know it this blog will turn into a naked mopping and mustard treasure hunt aficionado site.
frosty
@clay: I was thinking the same thing!
ETA No visual comment this time. New blog smell is a bit like the old blog smell. However, nym is here so it’s fresher!

No wonder Nunes looked like he was in the throws of severe acid reflux every time the camera panned on him today.

The truth is,
these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.these guys are fucking idiots who said to each other, “Let’s commit crimes until Lady Justice can pound us into dust! And then let’s crimes some more after that!”?BillinGlendaleCA
@MCA1: The mustard is a myth, there is no mustard.

Thank you Balloon Juicers, I appreciate how you all confirm my experience of seeing 4 lights when others insist there are however many been told to see.
Nunez particularly seems to hump the company line just to try to make me yell at the both-sider interviewing him on the radio to actually listen to the nonsense filibuster response and note that it’s not an argument, it’s a contradiction.
All responses that begin “You should be ashamed to ask me that” are fascist bullshit.

have to admit, these folks in the 45 administration certainly were ambitious and so far, they’ve been pretty damn successful too in lining their own pockets while simultaneously trashing the Republic. I can see why when you consider how the GOP is doing their level best to explain all of this away/give it their own cache of approval and hearing it bleated in the hearing room and among their fellow legislators and so many of their propaganda mouthpieces. watching the alternative factless/lawless world that they represent it is easy to see why so many people take the easy way out and let these asshats do all of their thinking for them.

@piratedan: Not sure they’re banking more money than they’re blowing on lawyers. A lot of them are seeing the inside of the federal prison system.

@?BillinGlendaleCA: We can have nice things, but then trash that makes tens of millions of dollars a year will call you elitist. See Spicy Mustardgate.

I did the same calculation. Though maybe they all flew business class, for $8k per person, leaving a mere $2000/day per person for the rest of the expenses.

“Derek Harvey, Scott Glabe, and George Pappas”
Can anyone put faces to names?
Which is the Harvey Weinstein-looking one, and which is the one that can’t grow a full beard, seated behind Nunes at the Hearings?
It’d be worth tracking their careers.
