Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

You know it’s bad when the Project 2025 people have to create training videos on “How To Be Normal”.

Bark louder, little dog.

Narcissists are always shocked to discover other people have agency.

If you can’t control your emotions, someone else will.

This blog will pay for itself.

I’m starting to think Jesus may have made a mistake saving people with no questions asked.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

You are so fucked. Still, I wish you the best of luck.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

Balloon Juice, where there is always someone who will say you’re doing it wrong.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

T R E 4 5 O N

Hey hey, RFK, how many kids did you kill today?

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

“Facilitate” is an active verb, not a weasel word.

I Don’t Know Either

Every now and then I turn around, look behind me, and find things like this:

I Don't Know Either

And then I slowly turn back around and pretend I didn’t see anything because mom and dad didn’t raise a total idiot.

I’m rewatching Chuck on Amazon Prime.

I recently and for a couple of days entertained a creature out of some scifi movie. Said creature was apparently a Modest Sphinx moth.

There is an entire genre of YouTubers who listen and react to music.

    I love them.
A couple of my favorites is when they discovered Aerosmith ?, and Frank Sinatra ?

Well, woke up at 3 and couldn’t get back to sleep. And of course a long day ahead of me, first at the market, then driving to Lexington for my son to put new brakes on the car. Normally I’d get them just done locally, but it will save me about $500 for him to do the work.

Somehow I have to find time to heel in the nine irises I received yesterday, because today and tomorrow are going to be much hotter and I don’t have time to properly plant them until Monday.

    August 8, 2020 at 5:43 am

@rikyrah: aw, hope you feel better! And that you can take it easy today. I told my son I was taking my time getting there and not to wait dinner for me. I’ll stay with them overnight and once he’s done tomorrow head back. So quick, socially distancing trip. But it’ll be nice to see them and to have new brakes on the car.

And soap! I’m always expected to bring soap ?. One of these kids better learn to make it, because they’re pretty spoiled ?

If I was related to you, sorry…would never buy that store bought stuff ever again ?

I decided a couple of years ago that I could spoil myself a little with good soap. You were a part of that.?

After seeing the clip on BJ last night, I was thinking that Miami Vice would be the perfect pandemic show to watch, but it’s only on Hulu, so I am bummed.

Am I right in thinking that Hulu has commercials unless you pay for some premium version of Hulu?

@WaterGirl: Yes. And you still have to pay for that version. I have Hulu and Netflix and occasionally do a free Prime. Although right now my brother had set up Prime on my living room TV, so I’ve been using that, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

If you do Hulu, I cannot recommend Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist enough.

@TaMara (HFG): I think Prime lets you share Prime with one other person, right?  I have Prime, though I much prefer the Netflix interface.

LOL on you finding those two guys adorable.  If someone tells them that, they would be mortified.
