Hi everyone! Pet bleg.
My dear friend Jackie lost her son unexpectedly this past week and now these two little ones need a new home. They are located in the LA area and I’m sure could find a ride around the California area. Although, Jackie might want to meet you and let me tell you from experience, that would be fun. They are about 5 years old, well trained and good with people and other animals.
They are living with a friend of the family right now, but that is very temporary. I know it would take a lot off of Jackie’s mind if she knew they had found a good home.
I have hope with her large circle of friends they will find a home soon, but so far, they’re still uprooted and confused.
If you want to know more or are interested, shoot me an email at whats4dinnersolutions (at) live (dot) com
Thanks!
ETA: Thanks to Raven for reminding me, it’s preferred they are kept together. And I mean, come on, how much room could these two take up? Asks the servant to a Great Dane.

Please send Jackie our condolences. The pups are lovely. This is so very sad.
raven
I’m sure they are a package?
TaMara (BHF)
@raven: Yes, thanks for the reminder, I’ll edit post.
raven
@TaMara (BHF): Thanks, I wanted to make sure before I sent it to my LA peeps.

Cuties! But I’m pretty sure that having 3 cats and 2 dogs in an apartment is illegal around here. I’ll make inquires at my office, though.

Everyone in my house has a nasty cold, except the 7th grader. I have an irrational hatred of Chihuahuas, too. Part of me wants to raise my hand anyway.
SiubhanDuinne
Have posted the picture and a shortened version of your message to my FB page. I have several friends in and around LA — let’s hope for a good outcome for these two cuties.

So adorable. And easy to transport, I imagine. One teeny crate on an airplane.
So, as always, BJ pet relocation could happen to anywhere, and I’m in for some fee coverage if needed.

My thoughts to Jackie and her family as well. I can be so self-centered. Her column is heartbreaking.
SiubhanDuinne
TaMara: Do you know their names?
SiubhanDuinne
@Mary G:
You are quite possibly the least self-centered person I know.
TaMara (BHF)
Thanks so much you guys for your thoughts and for sharing with your circles. I’m sure these guys will find a good home, I just wanted to make sure we spread the word here in case their forever family was also a Balloon-Juice family. And I think the sooner we can get them placed, that’s one less thing Jackie needs to worry about.
TaMara (BHF)
@SiubhanDuinne: Cowie and Patra. I have no idea why, but I’m sure there is a story.

@SiubhanDuinne: Try Cuff and Link!

They are adorable. I hope they find a forever home together quickly.
Please give your friend my condolences. I hope she finds peace and comfort in good memories of her son.
My friend Cassie took control of a 5-year male cat whose elderly human had died and the cat was despondent. It took only a little while and someone came forward to adopt him. The cat is now doing well. I’m sure these doggies will also do well when they have a new home.

So sorry for your friend. Such sweet doggies. I can only help by sending positive thoughts, and that I do gladly.

@raven
Or name them after the two gigantic hounds in the 1938 screwball comedy Merrily We Live.
Heyyou and Getofftherug.

@NotMax: Oooo, likey.

Awwwww, so cute, poor things! My deepest sympathies to your friend. I’ll share this on FB in case any Cali peeps are interested. If I didn’t already have my two, we’d be flying them into Pittsburgh.

Somehow the idea of sending an email to whats4dinnersolutions saying “I’ll have the dog” makes me giggle.
TaMara (BHF)
@Chip Daniels: Well that made me smile.
Juju
Both boys dogs?
Juju
Are both boy dogs?
TaMara (BHF)
@Juju: I honestly don’t know for sure. i’ll ask JJ.
SiubhanDuinne
@TaMara (BHF):
Good.
@raven:
Better.

I love Chi-Chis and their mixes. They both look adorable. I am a long time lurker with not much to say that isn’t better said already so there’s that. Are both neutered? I live in the LA area and would gladly pick them up. Altho I live in an apartment it is a pet purposed block with parks and lots of grass all around. Great walking territory. My rescue Chi-Chi passed about two months ago and I miss having a companion and I need the activity as well. It will take a little convincing my wife to take on both but I readily understand the need for that. Also curious as asked above if both are a male, not a deal breaker but do need to know. Like their names.

We would be first in line to bring them to the puppy farm, but being in the big woods, sometimes small dogs become prey to the coyotes. We’ve only rescued one small dog, she was sweet, white with blac spots, named Emma, liked to jump up and down like a pogo ball.
One night she went out, like the other dogs do, and never came back. She was 25 pounds, the other dogs range 55-65-90 lbs. Never had a problem with big dogs or sneaky black cats. Or giant white cats, for that matter, who used to jump foxes just to watch them lose a fight.
So our new policy, after Emma, is to stick to labs or bigger dogs, for their own safety. All dogs like it here, but if you can’t teach them to stay in when it’s dark, it becomes scary black forest for the little ones.
Condolences to Jackie for her loss, hopes for the dogs to get a sweet forever home.
And thanks for publishing these rescues here, someone always is able to help!

@robert thompson: The perfect way to initiate from lurker to commenting is to consider taking one of the rescues needing homes posted here. So glad to “see” you robert, and hope that you, your wife, Cowie, and Patra all end up together if it’s meant to be!
TaMara (BHF)
@robert thompson: Robert, I’ve asked Jackie for that information. If you want to email me, we can continue that conversation if you’re interested.
They may actually be taking them to an adoption event this weekend, but if not, they are staying with another friend of mine in the valley and we could easily arrange a meet and greet.

@Satby:
I talked to the wife before she left for the salt mine and she is most concerned as to A) they are not too large; they don’t appear so, B) whether I can take care of two; I don’t see a problem there and C) are they fixed. So Imma gonna email TaMare (BHF) and find out.
WaterGirl
@robert thompson: Please let us know whether you get the pups or not. Either way, glad to see you de-lurk,
