Those financial filings should certainly prove interesting, per the Buzzfeed article:
… In the early 1990s, Trump’s companies filed several major bankruptcies, and the massive court filings in those bankruptcies have been a key part of previous reporting on Trump’s finances.
But those files — totaling thousands of pages — have not been available online before today, though they have been pored over by reporters at a range of outlets. With Trump’s finances the source of intense speculation and interest a month before the election, BuzzFeed News is making them available in full for the first time…
The documents are, in particular, court filings from three of his bankruptcies in 1991 and 1992: The Trump Taj Mahal Casino, Trump’s Plaza, The Trump Castle…

Speaking of Deadbeat Donnie, I woke up from a nap with a weirdly vivid image of Roger Ailes, Roger Stone, and Sean Hannity as MacBeth’s witches, hovering over an array of soundbanks and monitors, feeding advice to you-know-who while Paul Ryan moaned about the perfumes of Araby. Anybody want to help me with cast the other characters?…
(As a matter of fact, yes I do have a paperback of Barbara Garson’s most famous work around here somewhere…)

I’m a bit sad you had a dream featuring those people, Anne.

Gawd, I think I’d prefer clowns.

Which prominent right-wing woman do I see as Lady MacBeth?
All of them, Annie.

I presume that if there was anything actually horrid-er-than-normal in the documents, somebody would’ve found it by now; but what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, and I’m sure there’s something in this pile we can take out of context and slime him with for at least a week.

@Major Major Major Major:
You seem to be presuming that someone bothered to look, rather than follow the soccer ball to see who can find Whitewater II: the Benghazi-ing.
redshirt
@Major Major Major Major: At this point distraction is an excellent tactic. Just keep challenging Trump about his success, his intelligence, his experience, etc, and you know he’ll spend time rebutting it. Time is now precious. Every moment he spends tweeting about some BS is time he can’t spend doing something substantial.
I like how Clinton’s team is directing this.

well, as for Lady MacBeth, I’d go with Coulter and maybe you can cast Palin as Ophelia… apologies for staying somewhat on topic.

@redshirt: I wasn’t saying it was a bad idea.
@Mnemosyne: I’m presuming a sufficient number of people did, yes. For reasons consistent with my worldview I believe this is a safe thing to presume.

Paul Ryan in his normal very nice expensive suit — that is his drag, dressing up as a Serious Person — but also a ripped muscle tee & b-cap, to show his butch side (which isn’t very).

@hellslittlestangel: well, there is a channel 3, an NBC affiliate, in Las Vegas. It sure looks like their homepage.
I dunno, I think it’s real. It’s Nevada, Jake!
Edit: Recall that in one his pastiche pop sociology humor columns, David Brooks extolled the all- and real-American values of Nevada, so you know in reality the place has to be as weird as shit.
Edit: IIRC correctly, it was Nevada truck drivers. So, using Brooks as an opposites prediction machine, we can confidently predict that soon Nevada Man will give Florida Man a run for his money. And since I live too close to NV for comfort, I am not too happy about that.

This is why I’ve been a bit concerned about the polling.
When there’s a large number of 3rd party and uncommitted voters in polls, you just don’t know how stable they are and how they’ll break. If the candidate is near 50%, it pretty much doesn’t matter, but if you’re in the low to mid 40s, those soft groups can swing one way or another.
Internal polls tend to push voters harder than public. They’re trying to work out how those soft groups will actually break once they’re staring at the ballot and the full weight of a decision sits on them. People get really pragmatic when actual decisions are made, and tend to be idealistic in polls.
The internals from both parties seem to suggest that the soft groups are breaking hard against Trump. That’s what we all were hoping/expecting would happen, but until you push, you don’t know. Remember how incredibly accurate Obama’s campaign was in 08? That was in part to them doing a very good job polling. They also were much more confident rolling into 12 than anyone else was – and were proved right. Again, better polling.
It’s not clear whether the public polls will catch up to the internals or whether the model of the public polls is simply off, but this is welcome news. The GOP has no incentive to lie about this.
NotMax
@Martin
As if the GOP has ever required an incentive to lie about anything.

@Dog Dawg Damn: Yeah, but:
Could this “newscaster” have been pranking Little Gloves? (Trump thought this idea was worth considering.)

What would happen if Trump and Pence switched places?
John M. Burt
@hellslittlestangel: “Little Gloves”? How is it I have not seen this before? How is it I have not thought of it myself?
“Little Gloves” needs to receive wider circulation over the next 33 days.
hellslittlestangel
@craigie: Worst “Freaky Friday” remake idea ever.
hellslittlestangel
@John M. Burt: I’m pretty sure it’s original with me. Why hasn’t it been more widely circulated? A rigged system and unfair media.

@Dog Dawg Damn: donnie was spewing utter nonsense throughout that interview. jeez.

Hey, knock it off. I’m the same age as you and decidedly NOT old. Kudos on being cynical though.

I think the bankruptcy filings and Playboy videos will just prove Trump is a man of very low moral character. In fact, he is really nothing more than shit wrapped in skin. His unwavering support by so-called “evangelicals” just proves how utterly phony and hypocritical these Pharisees are….
Schlemazel
@Cermet:
I’m concerned as the last track I saw had a high potential for it hitting near Brevard County (the bump that sticks out, home the Kennedy Space Center). When we lived there I had several people tell me that there was no way a hurricane would ever hit there because of some magic from the gulf currents. It is thinking like that that could get a lot of people killed.
On another note, given the links above it looks like raw story is full of good news this morning, going to check them out now.

@sukabi:
A what? Would you go to Glenn Beck to have your appendix out?
I’m not surprised yet another wingnut has gone Capt. Queeg or Gen. Jack D. Ripper. I am surprised clinically insane people ever get media empires in the first place.
Matt McIrvin
@? Martin: Meanwhile, Rasmussen and UPI/CVOTER just released polls showing Trump ahead nationally, and actually gaining after the first debate. I suspect they turned the Trump-o-Matic dial up to 11.

@amk:
But it was THE BEST nonsense.
Lurking Canadian
@? Martin: I have thought for some time that the Clinton campaign is not acting like it’s close. They’re still in “run up the score” mode. I’ve been hoping that’s because they know something the rest of us don’t.

@John M. Burt: Manicula would be “little gauntlets” in latin. That would work for me.

@Dog Dawg Damn: I think you misspelled “Jhina”. (H/T to Alec Baldwin and SNL)
workworkwork
@Anne Laurie: Let’s see how long it takes until he’s wandering the halls of Congress at night acting all crazy.

@Mike E: Not bad, but I seem to recall Lady MacBeth started out as relatively sane. Michele’s past that point and about twenty miles further down the road.
workworkwork
@Patricia Kayden: I’m just excited to be getting out of hospital today. Besides, I don’t sleep much anyway. Besides, I went to bed early last night.
Can’t you just enjoy the community?
sdhays
@Dog Dawg Damn: It pales into comparison to what you highlighted, but it’s breathtaking that Donald Trump has a hotel in Las Vegas, is trying to win Nevada and has been there many times this year, and yet even at this point in the campaign, he didn’t even know about the nuclear waste issue. It reminds me of how a month before the Brexit vote, Donald didn’t know what Brexit was, despite having major business in Scotland.
Rhetorical question: Does Donald bother to actually know anything? Clearly he rarely actually talks with anyone; he prefers to do the talking.
workworkwork
@TheMightyTrowel: I suspect they already had a nude scene written and filmed for the new Thor movie. Joss has a dry, sly sense of humor.

@Cermet: My brother’s going to Miami next week to give a talk so he has to re-strategerize his flight plan. Fortunately he’s got the flight insurance.
Ironically, he’ll be speaking on climate change.

@hellslittlestangel:
let’s just build the wall out of nuclear waste. boom, kill a two-headed bird with one stone.
Mr. Mack
@sdhays: I’ll need to find the title…but a book I read this summer went into great detail a HUGE squabble Trump had with Steve Wynn, it was a complicated read but the gist is he did beat Wynn in that one…Neither is liked much in that town.
Uncle Cosmo
@Matt McIrvin: Raz is still in GOP-cheerleader putschpoll mode. In a coupla weeks he’ll start gradually (& reluctantly) morphing his “turnout model” from its current Rethuglican-wet-dream parameters toward something approaching reality. Hoping no one will remember the earlier near-dishonesty & still treat him as an “objective” pollster. That’s how he’s always played it in the past, & it’s worked like a charm.
sukabi
@Ceci n’est pas mon nym: now be fair, given it’s Glen Beck (we’ve all seen and heard him in “action”) maybe his chain of hospitals weren’t typical medical hositals, but we’re for mental health care and he was just buying up the ones that wouldn’t proclaim him sane…
sukabi
@Matt McIrvin: sure drumpf is gaining, if you only count drumpf supporters.
burnspbesq
For their next trick, they should scan and post the pre-EDGAR SEC filings of the Trump public companies.
OGLiberal
@Uncle Cosmo: Scott Rasmussen no longer involved with the polling group but they still use the brand and are push polling hacks who, as you said, adjust the model closer to the election so they get good ratings from Nate Silver and his ilk.
