    At a press conference during the last Euros in 2016, Germany’s Shkodran Mustafi took offence at the beer bottle a sponsor had put in front of him. (It was Ramadhan, so as a Muslim he was fasting; and even if he had broken his fast for the tournament, he certainly wouldn’t want beer.) But when he pushed it away, he got a lecture for on sponsor’s rights. One rule for regular players and another for the superstars, I guess.

    Some interesting matches today: Italy should get a real test against the Swiss, opportunity for Wales to show they can make the underdog run, and I’m really rooting for the Fins to stomp on Russia.

    Bit of a test for the Fins to see how they respond after the scary game against Denmark. They got the win, but you know their players were really impacted by Eriksen going down like that too.

    Does anyone know what happened with randhino (sp?)  The last thing I heard was maybe a year or two ago from Cole, and randhino (sp?) had been hurt in an accident or something.

    I can’t go back and check in Balloon Juice because I don’t know how to spell his name.

    This was a person who front-paged soccer posts on BJ whenever there was a big soccer tournament in Europe.

    As it happens, Coke owns Dasani and Smartwater brands. They should be able to spin this.

    Coke also acquired the Mexican sparkling mineral water Topo Chico a couple of years ago. Since then, it’s become easier to find — I used to have to go to the Hispanic supermarket to get it — but I doubt it’s available in Europe.
