    It’s what they always circle back to and why the helots of the Right are happy to take orders from dolts who buy their rank with money stolen from their own troops.

    Who has them, what you do with them, what you don’t get to do with them, whether you can keep them, how you can talk about them, when you can and cant talk about them. Etc. Etc.

    They are all about the genitals. Which is an odd foundational belief but those people be weird as fuck at the best of times.

    If I was a parent in Kansas I would be pulling my kids out of sports. If I was a coach in Kansas I would be quitting or leaving. If I was a school board lawyer I would be in a nightmare about the potential lawsuits which could still be brought decades later and the cost, and wondering if there was some way to make the legislature have to pay instead of the school district. Talk about unfounded mandate.

    No disrespect to our outstanding political correspondent from Old Blighty, but “Groomers Or Perverts” is, in my useless opinion, much better; it puts the burden on the GrOPers, rather than on some non-focused concept. As many others have said: make them explain/lie about how they’re not.

    What are the actual numbers of (originally) biological males seeking to play women’s sports?  What % of folks playing women’s sports are trans males?  I suspect the numbers are extremely small, just above vanishingly small.

    Even approaching the alleged “problem” on the GOP’s own terms, why not handle it the same way as when e.g. a little-league baseball team is suspected of having an overage player on its roster – discreetly demand *that* one player provide proof of age, and not subject every 11 year old player to an “excess puberty development” exam?

    And why are the criteria to play kid’s sports vastly more demanding than the requisites to purchase lethal firearms?  What % of females have been killed because a trans male is playing sports with girls?

    I saw someone in YouTube comments opining that it was “hmmm… curious” that the opposite NEVER happened–that there were NO “biological women” seeking to play men’s sports.

    It took about ten seconds to Google it and get evidence that he was wrong, but I don’t suppose it mattered. (Most of the people cheering him in the thread seemed to equate “men’s sports” with American football specifically, which is kind of an unusual sport. Lots of chortling about how trans men would just be killed on the gridiron.)

    I was a referee for Women’s Roller Derby for a bunch of years. During this time they added a policy of explicitly allowing transgender athletes.

    At the time I knew of just a couple skaters nationwide who were openly transgender. WFTDA didn’t ask and doesn’t keep stats so I doubt anyone knows what the actual number was.

    In that same time frame Men’s Roller Derby allowed anyone to skate. There were more than twice as many cisgender women playing on the <local city> mens team than there were transgender athletes in women’s derby nation wide.
