Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

One of our two political parties is a cult whose leader admires Vladimir Putin.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

Republicans cannot even be trusted with their own money.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Nothing says ‘pro-life’ like letting children go hungry.

This fight is for everything.

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, hurry up and indict this prick.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

Giving up is unforgivable.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

The Giant Orange Man Baby is having a bad day.

The real work of an opposition party is to hold the people in power accountable.

Narcissists are always shocked to discover other people have agency.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

Our messy unity will be our strength.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

When BJ front pagers changed the amount to $75,000, I laughed and now we are less than $1700 from that goal.
    Wahoo!!!

OK, you got me. $25 more to get Sestak’s “Cleaning Up after These Guys” ad on the air.

You come here asking for money for your radical Black Panther loving SEIU members, and yet you don’t offer up an NFL open thread, much less a picture of Tunch? What sort of Commie anti-Murikan are you?

Also too, Jeebus loves you and you will burn in hell forever for your sins.

Threw some in the pot for the cause.

You make my life so rich
You know you should have been some money
    Baby you’re so sweet
You know you should have been some honey
Well you could have been anything that you want to
    And I can tell
The way you do the things you do

Wow! Only a little over $800 to the new goal. If I weren’t tapped out, I’d add a little more.

Are there any other expats out there who have been able to pay with a debit card drawing on a foreign bank account? I’m sitting here with money burning a hole in my pocket but I don’t have a US debit card anymore.

I normally don’t contribute to these sorts of things, but hate the wingnuts and their media enablers enough — and am now employed full-time (knock on wood) and have some cash — so I bit the bullet and gave.

Just tossed in $15 to get us that much closer.

@R-Jud: Similar here. My bank (Wachovia) is doing the big changeover to Wells Fargo this weekend, and — well, it’s stupid and more complicated than it should be, but suffice to say, my old Visa account expired yesterday and the new one won’t kick in until tomorrow. (It is quite possible I managed to screw up the activation process.)

Kills me, because we’re currently only $60 from the $75K goal, and I would just *love* to provide that final $60. Grrr. (I did give earlier, so my conscience is okay; now I’m just thinking how cool it would feel.)

@tcolberg #14: Sadly, not I (see my lament at #13).

But YAY!! Juicers are *the best*!!

    @tcolberg:
I am going to assume it was my $100, and I will continue to believe it even if others prove me wrong, since Americans now have the option to ignore “facts” and “evidence” whenever we want.

That’s a rather, um… Freudian image you have there.

    But congrats!
