Something tells me we won’t have the lost Madonna of the Teabagger WASPs to kick around much longer (via):
Sarah Palin has not yet received an invitation to speak at or attend the Republican National Convention this August in Tampa, Newsweek reported.
“What can I say?” Palin told Newsweek in an email. “I’m sure I’m not the only one accepting consequences for calling out both sides of the aisle for spending too much money, putting us on the road to bankruptcy, and engaging in crony capitalism.”
“In accepting those consequences,” she added, “one must remember this isn’t Sadie Hawkins and you don’t invite yourself and a date to the Big Dance.”
As soon as you read that, I’ll bet you guessed that she’s making plans for her own event at the convention in case she isn’t invited. She probably wouldn’t have reached her sell-by date so quickly if she weren’t such a completely predictable liar.
Handy
Sarah who?

Being a predictable liar is an asset for her, not a hindrance. It is going off script that gets her in trouble.
tjmn
She rented a plaza near the convention site. She’s up to something.
valency
I predict a narcissistic third party senate run in Palin’s future. Her desperate need for attention and her minuscule attention span and intrinsic laziness are clearly in conflict here.
Observer
Just because someone isn’t invited to a convention doesn’t make that person a has-been.
And actually “putting us on the road to bankruptcy, and engaging in crony capitalism” is a pretty good line.
Whenever some future wannabe Dem prez candidate like Cory Booker, Harold Ford, or Hilary Clinton want to stop feeding at the Wall St trough and say that endless wars and bailing out millionaire cheater bankers are “putting us on the road to bankruptcy, and engaging in crony capitalism” then perhaps the Dem party can start properly representing the middle class again.
Sure she’s a liar but her lies are almost pitch perfect to what a lot of her people want to hear.
Freemark
In the Republican party lying doesn’t give you an expiration date. Just look at who the nominee is. Matter of fact , NOT being a liar is considered grounds for being a RINO. If you aren’t kicked out of the party completely.
brantl
She’ll be on the wingnut welfare circuit for quite a while now, S.E.Cupps doesn’t excite them enough, being an atheist and all.

@Observer:
“Her people” don’t give a shit about crony capitalism or bankruptcy, because they all appeared on January 20, 2009 with misspelled witch doctor signs after 30 years of conservative governance and pointless ruinous wars, and the previous 8 years of crony capitalism that rivals Russia. They wanted their country back from the secretusurpingmuslimkenyan. Stop wanking.

Ever playing the victim.
That deck apparently has a gazillion cards in it, all identical.
Deep down I sometimes feel she finds the characetr Gloria Swanson plays in Sunset Boulevard a misunderstood heroine to be emulated.

@the Conster:
thank you – Palin’s role in the McCain campaign was to incite hatred for McCain’s opponent because he was “different”.
Ignoring her is probably the only smart move the Romney campaign has made this year.
Observer
@the Conster: Tea Partiers appeared on Inauguration Day with ginned up witch doctor protest signs? Do you have any video evidence because that’s an interesting rewriting of history.
Or how about in 2009 Tea Partiers knew in their hearts they had been conned by the past 8 years and by TARP but rather than blaming Bush, which would have caused them to take an honest look at themselves, they took the path of least resistance via Rick Santelli’s rant from Feb 19, 2009 and turned their anger over towards Obama.
The Tea Partiers would always have found something to get pissed at Obama anyways. But unlike you, the Republican operatives are actually smart and they saw that and found a way to channel and convert general economic dissatifaction into a force for the Repubs rather than sitting around passively and letting events control them.
Any number of Dems could have done the same but chose not to.
the Conster
@Observer:
That’s an interesting rewrite of history given what happened all during Palin and McCain’s campaigning – but since you know what’s in their hearts, I can’t argue with you. I know what was in their emails and on their signs, and it wasn’t secret longing for an honest discussion of deficit spending.

Another milestone on the road the inevitably ends in a Playboy celebrity has-been nude shoot.
Sarah’s lies only appeal to the broke and powerless among the angry stupid white people and broke and powerless is sooooo 2008.
General Stuck
Sarah doesn’t have time for the wankers at the RNC. She’s plotting her big political comeback, having spoted a weak incumbent for another plum Alaska mayor gig.

@Observer: Tea Partiers knew in their hearts?
WTF is this?
I was deeply involved in some messages boards that formed the pre-Tea Party Tea Party. Not the insurance company front group, but a group of mostly-conservative fiscal conservatives who were protesting Wall Street in 2008.
That group was coopted and PUSHED OUT early in 2009.
And the Republican operatives were not “brilliant”–the racists had “NOBAMA” stickers literally the day after the election. It was disgusting. By January even the media was starting to repeat butthurt racist talking points and it really exploded after the inauguration.
Dick Armey took advantage of this wave of paleoconservative indignation as well as the gullibility of retired people on conservative mailing lists and organized and trained senior citizens to disrupt constituent meetings.
Those who were paying attention knew the rot started before Big O. A few of them might have even voted for him (R-leaning Independents) but quickly turned on him when he kept Geithner, someone they very much hated, in office. However they were (and are) a very tiny group. Their message was quite literally in Florida SHOUTED DOWN by birthers.
No, all the ‘baggers “knew in their heart” was that the Sheriff was Near, and you know what you do with uppity nears.

@General Stuck: Mayor Stubbs did not, apparently, leave his small town disastrously in debt due to one of the stupidest, laziest real estate and development deals imaginable.
That level of skill at anti-governance was brought by the mean, dumb, snotty basket case of nasal tone sneers belovedly known as Sarah Palin.
Also, I bet Mayor Stubbs never had followers show up to his public appearances dressed and made up like him, which is what happened with Palin.

@tjmn:
The FSM surely doesn’t love me enough to have her out there protesting the elevation of Lord Mittleroy, gathering her Teabaggers around her and the whole bunch of them getting so fired up by her sparkles that they end up marching on the convention center.
Nah. Although, based on all of the fun I’ve had following the Bain stuff, the FSM has suddenly decided it was time for me to have fun at this late date in my life. So, maybe.

@tjmn:
certainly. the teabillies are revolting. also too, they’re looking to revolt.
if obama keeps putting the screws to mittens for the next month, we’re going to see the paultards break in to the convention while lady starbursts starts her own a block away in one last, feeble attempt to stay in the game. and also to help set up the meme that mittens’ inevitable failure is a failure of inadequate conservatism.
oogabooga
lol…you were the retard still saying Palin was going to try run for Prez just before the Primaries. I think you were also spewing on about how she might be a VP pick again.
You trying to disappear that fact or do I have to be bothered to spend 2 minutes to search for those posts?
GregB
I saw it is time to use Sarah against the GOP and Romney in particular.
Why won’t Mitt meet with Sarah?
He’s snubbing the dear leader of the tea party.
Why won’t Mitt meet with Sarah?
He’ll meet with Donald Trump……
But not Sarah?

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!! Well, considering how the Romney campaign has been conducting itself, they must have had a lobotomy!

Speaking of Sarah. There’s a lot of airtime to fill during a convention. Okay, they don’t want to give her one of the prime time slots, but they couldn’t let her give a little speech, say, at 3 am?

@General Stuck:
Are you kidding? That cat is vastly superior.
As to Sarah being a liar, well, so what? It worked well enough for a certain early-mid 20th century Chancellor…
Does any of this sound remotely familiar? Hell, people are saying right now that “it’s absurd, it can’t be true…” when they’re told the details of the Ryan Plan and the Marquis’ proposed economic program.
Always stick with the tried and true techniques and blame all problems on ‘the enemy’, whether it be Jews, brown people, liberals or Kenyan interlopers.

First, I am glad to see Sarah Palin drifting ever farther out of the public eye. She got there by sheer dumb luck that interrupted her self-destruction in Alaska. When the money spigot turns off, and it will because NOBODY LIKES HER and Wingnut Welfare is for useful chums, the spending spigot will not turn off. Narcissists do not accept that they’ve peaked. There will be bankruptcy, the family waging court battles against each other, possibly crimes committed, particularly tax evasion or some other ‘but I’m entitled to this!’ crime. The implosion has begun, but if it happens invisibly because she’s no longer a public name, that would be fine.
Second, @Observer: sounds like a renyming of Caz, whose schtick was to show up and calmly and reasonably inform us that black was white and asphalt was ice cream. I recall fondly when he explained that Birtherism was a fringe phenomenon that had nothing to do with the Tea Party and he’d never even met a Birther. This was a few days before a poll showing that 51% of the Tea Party believe Obama was not born in the US.

Sadie Hawkins!! Har har har!
That’s junior high when the girls get to invite the boys. omg; I wonder what’s going through her head……………

Ha ha ha! Loved her “they aren’t inviting me because I’M TOO AWESOME” schtick. That’s so Palin!

@El Cid:
Maybe she and Mr Libertarian can put an act together and go on the road, Palin Around with Paul.

@Observer: I call bullshit! You know damn good and well you saw those Obama as witch doctor signs at those tea bagger rallies. Who the fuck do you think you’re talking to? FUCK YOU!
