    Remember when Republicans used to wait and drop their “October Surprise” right before election season. Does Romney just not plan on doing that, or was his big surprise the “Obama said he believed in wealth redistribution in ’98” and it just flopped?

    There is another effective version of the 47% ad airing on TV. This one shows Willard’s remarks, explains who is in the 47%(elderly, military, single parents, etc.), puts Romney’s tax rate on the screen, and ends by asking something along the line of “Shouldn’t Romney be standing up for you, not ridiculing you?”. It is very good.

    @Omnes Omnibus: And we know how the cons are supposed to revere contracts. Remember how upset they were about the possibility that banks that took TARP bail outs might not be able to pay their contracted bonuses and how contracts were sacrosanct?
    Are do they look at enlistment contracts and commissions in the same way they view labor agreements, in which case, fuck us?

    I really want to see the DNC or some SuperPAC put out an ad that demonstrates with specifics how the Republicans generally and Romney/Ryan specifically really do not do squat for actual veterans’ actual needs. Sure, they like to talk in front of lot of flags and talk the war talk, but when it comes down to doing not talking, they’re no good for anything.

    I want to see it because I think it would speak to veterans and their families. And because programs for veterans are broadly popular. But most of all because I am sick of the lie that “Democrats hate the troops!” that gets trotted out every four years.
