#JuggaloMarch and Trump supporters both marching. One is a group of people who worship an insane clown, the other is a group of Juggalos

The Hill is… game:
Fans of the hip-hop group Insane Clown Posse descended on Washington, D.C., on Saturday for a “Juggalo March” to protest the FBI classifying them as a gang.
The fans, nicknamed Juggalos, are holding a march and concert on the National Mall to protest a 2011 FBI report that classified fans of the group as a “loosely-organized hybrid gang.”
The march’s website includes personal tales of fans being fired from their jobs, stopped and detained by police and losing custody battles for being Juggalos, wearing band merchandise or having the band’s trademark “hatchet man” tattoo, a silhouette of a man wielding an axe…

I have no idea who these people are ?
Baud
People aren’t really prejudiced against Juggulos. They just think Juggulos are less capable.
Baud
@rikyrah: I feel that way about a lot of folks these days.
Lapassionara
I am so out of touch. I don’t think I have ever heard one of this group’s songs. Looks like they outnumber the Trump marchers, which is good.
Baud
The timing of It must have hurt their cause. Coincidence or conspiracy?

It’s too bad the Juggalos chose today. It makes it much easier for the Broderist both siders to avoid mocking the “massive”, pathetic Henna Hairball supporters rally.

Do you know what Dolly Parton looks like today? I’m sure Jennifer Grey looks different too. Apparently this is more important than any discussion we could have.
Now I wasn’t sure about anything involving white people in black clothes (for the greater good, anyone?) their whoop whoop at the removal of Confederate participation statues makes me think they’ll be alright.
David ?Canadian Anchor Baby? Koch
I can see why people join the Juggalos – they just have a magnetic appeal.

Well, you know what, good for them.
Today I finally sat down and made a proper drawing of the blueprints for the main character’s house in my comic. I was sick of having to rotate all those imaginary objects in my head while picking camera angles. dunno why I didn’t do it sooner. I guess I didn’t know what all I needed in the place until I’d been going for a bit.

Classifying Juggalos as a gang is just offensive. I have not been to any of their shows, but I would not mind going to one. Are cosplaying anime fans going to be labeled a gang next?
The classic line from one of their songs is “Fucking magnets, how do they work?”

Wapiti
@Duane: I think the ICP is considered a gang because cops… they like things to be in categories. Group or people, with common tattoos – must be a gang.
I used to run with a group called the Hash House Harriers. They called themselves “a drinking group with a running problem”. Their runs were basically a game of hares and hounds, where the fast runners (the hares) would get a head start and leave a trail, typically a sawdust/flour mixture, for the other runners (hounds, or harriers) to follow. The trail always ended someplace where they could have some beers. After 9-11 somebody spotted a pile of white powder from the trail marks and called 911. Cops freaked out, despite explanations; probably because the explanation did not fit their categories.

I used to have a very snobbish attitude against country music and country singers. It’s still not my favorite genre, but it was Dolly Parton whose songs made me realize that there were some great tunes and lyrics. From her to Johnny Cash and lots of others…. Still, as I say, not a genre I’m entirely comfortable with, but I recognize the appeal. And I completely admire Dolly for her literacy activism.

There is a little-known, but really wonderful, opera called Opéra d’Aran, by the French pop singer/composer Gilbert Bécaud, which has a lovely, haunting, traditional-sounding song sung by an old, I think blind, harpist at a pivotal moment in the plot. It has a repeating chorus “At the ball of Galway/In the Bay of Galway.”
I’ll try to track it down on YouTube and post a link. This opera should be much better known. Should be part of the standard repertoire, in fact. It is amazing.

So I hear thew REAL rally — not that gang-member thing — had something like 150,000 attendees (plus-or-minus three orders of magnitude). I bet Lying Littledick was pleased as all get-out that HIS rally was yuuuuuger than the Juggalo Fest. I was not impressed by Portland the last time I visited. We went through a neighborhood in Northeast Portland where the city had allowed the streets to fall apart to the point they were effectively unpaved. If you crossed a major street into the next neighborhood, they went back to being fine. I can’t say for sure, but it definitely give the impression that the government doesn’t think the residents of the area deserve the same level of city services everyone else gets.

B) Re-read my first line, especially the “plus-or-minus” part
[And, in case it’s not a term you’re familiar with: an “order of magnitude” means a factor of ten. So 15,000 is an order of magnitude smaller than 150,000. Sincere apologies if you already know all this.]

@germy: How many hours?
Anne Laurie
@Wapiti: Nah, ICP fans got targeted because the bluesuits consider them “trash”, and by cop standards “white trash” is barely a circle on the target beyond “uppity person of color”. In some ways, the Juggalos are even MOAR threatening to the cops, because a lot of the worst offenders have close relatives who are “white trash” — welfare-dependent, substance-abusing, dangerous-to-decency “trailer lifers” that constantly remind angry white LEOs that they’re one or two bad decisions away from the same awful fate.
Besides, calling ICP groupies White Gangsters means they’re totally *not* racist, even if they consider a Black reporter with a camera more dangerous than a mob of rage-addled “Oaf Keepers” with guns. Remember: It’s not the cops’ job to create disorder — it’s their job to preserve disorder!
