Trump family tried to vote absentee in the NYC mayoral election:
MELANIA: Didn't follow directions to sign envelope so her vote didn't count
IVANKA: Sent it on election day, too late
JARED: Never sent ballot
DONALD: Got his own b-day wrong by a monthhttps://t.co/6X0aTfqZV7
— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) December 12, 2017
.
Gotta figure he had someone fill the ballot out for him, because even people well on the downslope of senile dementia are capable of remembering their own birthdate correctly.
Shows the shoddy quality of the current administration — the beleaguered office drones know the family should make a performance of voting, but they haven’t got enough pull to make them fill out the ballots, or enough expertise to forge them convincingly.
.
Apart from rolling our eyes, what’s on the agenda for the evening?

If that’s true, he needs much better help. Any halfway competent assistant should be able to look up the boss’s birthday correctly.
Smedley Darlington Prunebanks (formerly Mumphrey, et Al.)
Ladies and gentlemen, your Republican Party…
dmsilev
@Roger Moore: You’re assuming that the hypothetical assistant (a) is halfway competent and (b) actually cares.
Mnemosyne
@Roger Moore:
IIRC, Trump actually filled his birthdate out correctly on the ballot. It’s his registration where his birthdate is wrong. Voter fraud!
Villago Delenda Est

These people are corrupt to the bone.

I mean you are probably right, but one shouldn’t assume that there isn’t someone at the WH who has had more than enough.

To be fair, he was hatched out of some reptilian egg, so he doesn’t really have a “birth”day like the rest of us do.

@Mnemosyne: Clearly, we need to inspect Trump’s long-form birth certificate.

We recently licensed this to the Roy Moore campaign when they were in need of canvassers.

I’m always happy to see anything that makes The Family Trump look like the fools they are — but honestly, I’m a bit uncomfortable that information on their ballots is being made public. Is it customary to release this kind of information? Do they release it for every voter?

@SiubhanDuinne: In many states, whether you vote in a given election is a matter of public record, only who you voted for is confidential.
I suppose depending on state law, why a submitted absentee ballot isn’t counted might also be a matter of public record. You could certainly argue knowing how many ballots aren’t counted and why is in the public interest.

Some Ala voters seem to believe they can vote for Moore with a clean conscience because if he wins someone else will take his seat. I remember Rs floating the idea weeks ago, but I also wonder if this promise was some directed at them in some form.

CNN keeps showing a 2012 statewide race that Roy Moore was in where won but he only got 52% of the vote against the Democrat. It was a presidential election year Romney got a much higher percentage of votes. Saying it’s a sign that Moore has problems in statewide races. I guess we’ll see.

The 2021 World Games are scheduled to be in Birmingham, Alabama. The World Games features sports that are recognized by the IOF, but not included in the Olympics. They are estimated to cost around $50 million, most of that from corporate sponsors. I wonder how many sponsors will be uncomfortable about being connected with Alabama in three years, if Moore wins?

You think they’ve hit bottom and then they get worse. Trump was actually not the bottom. There’s a level beneath him.

One of the things about the Trump Family that surprised me is how personally nasty they all are. The corruption, arrogance and coddled, insulated stupidity I knew- what I didn’t know was how mean spirited they all are as individuals.
You wonder WHY they’re such bitter, nasty assholes. They were handed everything they have. They want for nothing and never have. Yet every day it’s this blast of meanness. One would think these people had suffered hardship or something, but no, they’re nasty just because they can be. They prefer that.

@Kay: Kay, any chance you listen to the podcast “The Dollop?” Not world class university accuracy in all senses to their research sometimes, but hilarious and incredibly informative. They recently did a two parter on DJT, which answers your question in one word: Fred.
He instilled in his p.o.s. offspring (in addition to bigotry/eugenics/etc.) both an infinite sense of entitlement and an abiding belief that every single fucking thing, every day, in every aspect of life, is about winning or losing, with the adjunct lesson that being a “loser,” ever, in any encounter is a shame on your name forever.
So everything is a fight to the death, all the time, every day, and there are no virtues that restrain behavior in the pursuit of making sure someone else is tarred as a loser.

Indeed. This is the state in which Rove, Canary, and Martin managed to get former popular Democratic governor Don Siegelman imprisoned for the crime of governing as a Democrat, and in which Siegelman was kept in solitary confinement for an extended period for the crime of talking to the press.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eIvZKS3VBM
Over one hundred former Attorneys General of various states joined in amicus briefs stating their belief that the acts with which Siegelman was charged were not prosecutable. Many of those AGs were Republicans, but not from Aladamnbama
