And better, too:
“Donald was not a dog fan,” Ivana Trump wrote in her 2017 memoir, Raising Trump, recounted his resistance to her bringing a poodle named Chappy home. “It’s me and Chappy or no one!” she said to him.
The poodle, however, soon showed that the feeling of dislike was mutual. When the real estate developer went near her closet, “Chappy would bark at him territorially,” Ivana Trump wrote.
Would Donald Trump ever do something selfless like this:

Dogs- DEFINITELY NOT DEPLORABLE!
DID LILY EVER GET HER TREATS?
Sorry to shout, but it’s been a great worry since last night.
I saw your tweet about @jack being alt-right.
I’m surprised that no one came up with that before. It would really explain a lot.
That DoDo video is the shizzel. Also what Subaru Diane said.
Also, also, I’ll just live my pet life through you guys.
Lemmee stop you right there.
Aw. The sweetie. ❤️
If you have a pool you have to teach your kids where the steps are. All your kids.
@SiubhanDuinne: Thanks, I was going to ask the same thing.
I would think that Cole would have learned from the great BJ pet anal glands scandal to maintain a responsible level of blog transparency.
Edit: and thanks to Cole for cute hero dog vid. Someone needs to send this to Trump. That hero dog know how to plan its work and work its plan. So, Trump might learn something on both ethics and management competence.
Pet Rocks, Smarter then the Trump voters. Also better smelling.
Trump: “I regret this country has but one life to give to me. Sad, very sad. Bring in the replacement, must be a 9 or better. Eat Cheesy Poofs.”

Thought that is a matter of Man Law that manly men like dowgs which is why every president gets one. Much like chest hair the issue just isn’t open to negotiations.
I mean seriously, WTF is all these idiots going on admiring Trump as some kind of man plus when the dork does a comb over and has a spray on tan? Both of those are marks in a girly man the way I was raised. Burt Renolds weeps.

Exactly. It’s the “Chekhov’s Gun” principle.
Democrats cautious about judging one of their own amid misconduct allegations
@TenguPhule: No investigation, off with his head. It’s the Al Franken rule.

Franken wasn’t pushed out until half a dozen allegations of groping came out of the wood work.
After the initial complaint of forcing a kiss, during rehearsal, on someomne else during a USO tour, a Senate ethics investigation was called for – by Al Franken – and everyone was cool.
I am not sure what ratfucker is after the MN Dem party, but this and Franken can’t be a coincidence
Sure beats the alternative.
Are you kidding? I’ve figured that since forever. The guy likes and protects Nazis and hardcore, rape-threats-issuing GamerGaters. He punishes people who insult those groups vastly more often and more harshly than the actual offenders. It’s been clear for awhile this isn’t some business model accident. He’s a hateful shithead.
Donald has already told us that he would run into a building to confront an active shooter even if he wasn’t armed, so why is it so hard to believe this? (snark)
….and there was no Ethics investigation.
@gene108: More than nothing, but still weak sauce.
A question I often ask my self, along with what the hell have I been doing with my life for the last 20 years…
In my experience dogs tend to be better than most people across the board.
Franken had a photo of himself pretending to grope a sleeping woman. That’s a big, big difference from unsubstantiated accusers. I was still on the fence about his resignation, but I certainly understand how it could be a bridge too far for a lot of people, especially since we are the party that is against sexual harassment. Republicans are for sexual harassment. Of course they get away with it more easily.
Reading an article on The Guardian about how Omarosa released a new mix tape about supposedly being paid off. I got to this part and basically started laughing:
Sorry famed neurosurgeon, and evangelical poster boy, Ben Carson. I know Cuba Gooding Jr played you in a TV movie, but you’re not Apprentice level famous. Now get back to work destroying HUD, Mr. Secretary!
@Leto: They played it on msnbc at 1p,
You, me and most of my dem friends I’ve talked to recently suspect ratfucking. I just wonder who was behind it. Ellison’s ex-wife made a statement that she never experienced anything like that with him. She emphasized they are friends, attend family events and he has even helped her get active in some political ventures.
@Frankensteinbeck: Did you see the videos of his “victim” rubbing her ass up against and country dude at another USO performance. The whole thing was bullshit.
Right. I look at the Dems they attack the hardest..Hillary, Pelosi, Franken, Maxine Waters, Obama, any Dem they think is the most dangerous to them.
@gene108: It’s an odd story. I first heard about the accusations against Ellison over the weekend. From what I gather, Ellison’s ex-girlfriend’s son claims there’s video of Ellison being physically abusive, but they haven’t produced it. Minneapolis Public Radio says the ex provided them with hundreds of text messages between herself and Ellison. The MPR folks say that while there are angry words, there’s nothing they’d characterize as abusive or suggestive of any physical abuse. Maybe it’s just an ugly-ass breakup rather than political shenanigans.
Major Major Major Major
@bemused: In Ellison’s case I guess the story had been floating around local media for a while and they hadn’t been able to verify it enough to run it.
I’m sorry former commenter AsiangrrrlMN no longer participates here (except, very rarely and briefly, when there’s a Steve photo up). She has always had a sharp eye for Minnesota politics as well as issues of sexual harassment, gender identity, and minority abuse. Not sure what drove her away, but I for one would enjoy seeing her take on the (apparent) ratfvcking of MN Dems.
Adam (and others, I’m sure) called it: Omarosa has released the tape of Lara Trump offering her 15k/month for her silence. To the Twitters, Orangmandias! You know you want to.
Also, this is kinda bold: Revoke My Clearance Too, Mr. President*
IC & military have had enough:
It gets better from there…

Well I suppose he had a point, but that was an incredibly dumb way of expressing it. Still, anything that Cuomo says to disqualify himself from higher office, and damage his re-election chances, is fine by me.
And to pour gasoline on the fire…
@HeleninEire: Boy, Subaru Diane is going to stick, isn’t it? When our Irish posters are running with it, I don’t see any going back.
Major Major Major Major
@jeffreyw: I’m extremely glad they’re (more or less) releasing the methodology for this one.
Okay, I’ve crossed over some kind of line.
I just watched the whole interview with Omarosa on MSNBC from an hour ago, where they play clips of Lara Trump offering her $180,000 a year to be on the campaign, right after Maggie Haberman published a story in the NYT about how Omarosa might just have some stories to tell on the administration that had just fired her ass for … wait for it … integrity issues.
So I’m sitting here hoping to hell that Omarosa gets herself on tv every couple of days from now until that orange a-hole shuffles out of sight for good. Because she really does seem to have the goods on them.
Just go watch it and listen to stupid Lara telling her that the money will come from small donors. Listen to Lara explaining that she won’t have to do much to earn it. Listen to Lara working out (with a calculator!) that 12 x 15 is 180, which is just about exactly what O was “earning” in her job at the White House.
And then they play for O a tape that the RNC is running in which she repeatedly praises Trump, as if that’s going to persuade us all that Lara did not say what she said.
It’s freaking amazing. Also, O was clearly one of Maggie’s inside sources. And she just seems to be completely out of effs to give.
@Gelfling 545: Fotgot to add, I’d vote for him ( over any Republican).
An admirable admiral.
@?BillinGlendaleCA: Yup.Said that exact thing to the yuggins in work today.
Unlimited Russian donations.
But to be fair, if she had taken the deal, I would have pegged her as the first one Trump or Putin tries to silence on the cheap, permanently. As she demonstrates now, she’s a loose end. And beyond the pale.
@gene108: I ask myself that too. When Obama became President I was like, OK you are officially a loser. The President of the United States is only 2 years older than you. WTF did you do with your life?????
@Martin: Cuz I can’t really spell. Cuzza spell checking. And for sure I can’t count. I’m an accountant (ish) and I cannot count without a calculator or Excel. Because I’ve been using them for 30 years.
On balance, enjoyed the ride.
@HeleninEire: That depends on whether you think being a full time federal government office holder is a a living hell or not, especially president. You could ask ‘WTF have I, a loser, done with my life?” Or, ‘there but for the grace of God, go I”.
I prefer to with the latter, even though the former may be true.
@SiubhanDuinne: Sorry, hun. But I love you nonetheless. Whatever your name/nym is.
As I recall, the person who took the photo claimed that the sleeping woman was not sleeping at all – she was was only pretending to be asleep, and was a willing participant in the “joke” photo.
We’ll probably never know the truth of that now, but Franken was dealt with so quickly that that aspect of the story never had any traction.

@SiubhanDuinne: I OK’d your name and everything.

Trump is the first nominee I can recall for whom there were zero, nada, no charming personal anecdotes of him reaching out and making somebody’s life better, framing him as more relatable and human. Why, even Willard Romney had…uh…
Trump is the second nominee….
@hitchhiker: Omarosa got a 7 figure advance for the book. What’s $15K a month for as long as Trump feels like paying it compared to that? Why hold back?
And I’m willing to give Omarosa the benefit of the doubt that she saw an opportunity to join the WH as a way to cash in later. She knew it would be a shitshow and she could make bank documenting it from the inside. She doesn’t appear to have left any policy traces behind her.
@Aleta: Well, you know, they all look alike to Fox.
@jl: Nah. It was more about achieving the pinnacle of what you want. I do not want to be President. I fact I have a life saying; ready? Here we go:
“Of all the things I don’t want to be #1 is cancer patient, #2 is Famous. And there is that very special version of famous; famous for fucking someone famous.”
Not interested. Anyone want my 15 minutes? I’ll give to you for free.
But he got pulled over for talking on the phone while driving (allegedly)!
Romneycare. Which wasn’t even his to begin with.
@trollhattan: Mitt’s gaffes combined with superhuman financial operator competence made him a somewhat sympathetic cyborg. Strapping the dog to the rooftop for a cross-country car has to be set aside, or put under ‘cyborgs gone wrong’.
I think it’s funny, and I’m really just fussing because I can. The nym is pretty much unspellable and totally unpronounceable, so I don’t blame you (or any other BJackal) a bit.
@SiubhanDuinne: Look on the bright side, at least you’re not Cockburn.
Exactly. What’s mind-boggling is how utterly stupid the corruption is. The president’s daughter-in-law phoned up a senior adviser who had been fired for integrity issues (!!) and offered her an immediate job on the next campaign, with the understanding that she’d have to shut up about anything that wasn’t “positive.”
I picture Omarosa hanging up after that call, playing the recording back to herself, and laughing out loud. It’s like the Trump family members cannot conceive that their money-based power might have limits, or that people will take the bigger payoff if they can.
@Major Major Major Major:
Thank you. I might haul it out for a run every now and then (the way I occasionally break out the “mob enforcer” extension), but mostly all these alternatives are staying in the back of the cupboard.
@TenguPhule: I noticed that warning at the Costco food court last night when I was getting pizza.
@?BillinGlendaleCA: Now you won’t have to see it anymore. Probably.

Anyone know if she tweets? I don’t remember or didn’t get what drove her away but I liked her too.

No, no. It isn’t the folks who don’t like dogs. it’s the folks who dogs hate… see the difference?
Really, you’re quite correct. People who don’t like dogs, and whom dogs don’t like, are almost universally wretched monsters rather than actual people.
@Omnes Omnibus: No, she was around long after that. It might have been a different period of personal attacks though. Or just bc she was also blogging elsewhere (at ABL earlier) and now her own blog.
