I learned about this great project from Jason Kander’s podcast.
The trailer is moving. The film is available on Apple TV and Amazon, and other places. I plan on watching it.

Spread the word.

Frist? Whee!
Sounds like a wonderful project.

I wish Jason Kander would run for statewide office again, here in Misery.

@Lapassionara: If you listen to interviews with Jason Kander, you can see that he still has a lot of receiving to do, and he’s pretty passionate about his tiny house project.
But I agree, he would be a huge asset in government.
If you listen to his podcast you can see just how sharp he is and how fast his brain works – he often stops mid-sentence to take a turn or share the new thing that just popped into his head about whatever he is discussing.

A few minutes ago we got an emergency alert that 80 miles per hour winds were coming in the next few minutes.
So I locked the kitties in the bedroom and raced around outside, taking down the bird bath in the new garden in front, moving big pots up against the house, grabbing every breakable thing and all sharp objects from outside. By that time the storm and winds had already hit, and I was racing around the screened in porch moving everything to the house side and covering all the furniture with towels.
So I am a wet, hot, sweaty, stinky mess and by the time I had everything done the storm had died down. And I am pretty wound up.

@WaterGirl: That was a great workout!
Seriously, glad you and your belongings survived the gale!
We get winds like that periodically, but they tend to last hours. No bueno.
Jackie
And a reminder: Nicolle Wallace is having an exclusive one on one interview with President Biden at 4:00 ET on MSNBC.
WaterGirl
@Jackie: It was!
I grabbed my solar lights – and it got so dark out that they lit up!
Here they are in a box.
WaterGirl
@WaterGirl: I think they are so pretty, but I don’t normally get to see them in the daytime.
WaterGirl
@Jackie: Will that be on-line? If there’s a youtube link for it, I can post it. I’m not sure we can embed MSNBC. Their videos won’t even play on my mac in Safari.

@Jackie:
That’s Chuck’s gig!

President Kamala’s Hand (Again) (@myronjclifton) tweeted at 0:31 PM on Thu, Jun 29, 2023:
Ever notice how republicans and their voters only celebrate..
and are happiest whenever people are harmed by their policies?
Nothing gives them more joy than when they know they are harming folk.

Huh. I thought BJ folks would be interested in this. I guess I got that one wrong!
mrmoshpotato
@WaterGirl:
Tiny house? Can a car jump over it?
“Dude, you just jumped the hoose!”
Silly Canucks!
narya
@rikyrah: And they get special joy when the people being harmed are black, or poor, or both.
narya
@WaterGirl: Well, yeah, I AM interested and glad you pointed it out! Can’t wait to see it, and love Kander. But that’s all I have to say so far–but thank you for the PSA!
mrmoshpotato
@WaterGirl: Band of crazy storms in southern Indiana – jealous!
Nothing up here. :(
SiubhanDuinne
Thank you for this link. Looks as though it will be tough to watch, but well worthwhile.
WaterGirl
@mrmoshpotato: Wow, look at this. This is us for the past 24 hours.
Air quality went from 265 to 48 in 24 hours.
WaterGirl
@SiubhanDuinne: I think that overall it will be uplifting.
Jason said on the podcast that so often with PTSD the information is about everybody at their worst. Did you watch the trailer? I think this will be hopeful overall.
Maxim
This sounds great. I hope it reaches a lot of the people who need it most.
WaterGirl
@Maxim: I think maybe we all need to watch this so we can better understand PTSD.
Either to be able to understand other folks better and maybe because some of us humans are walking around with PTSD and have no idea what the hell is wrong.

Thanks for this — I’m definitely going to watch. My oldest daughter, now a young adult, has severe PTSD arising from early childhood trauma (she was a foster kid from a really, really bad birth family situation). Having your young brain marinate for years in adrenaline from trying to survive a tornado of domestic violence around you really messes you up and the journey toward healing is so hard, particularly given how hard it is to find specialized psychiatric care for younger kids throughout most of the country.
I tell virtually every college-bound kid I meet, please, if you can, major in child psychology and focus on treating minors, especially in underserved communities.
WaterGirl
@jonas: Please be sure and let us know what you think, then, since this is personal for you.

Thanks for this WaterGirl. I have suffered depression for a long time. Particularly bad for past 25 years with isolation and anxiety. It’s only recently that my support team have called it PTSD. I have just started seeing a pain management physician, chronic pain is a part of my condition. It all stems from surgery I had to correct scoliosis. Surgery did not go as planned and I spent 7 months in bed with a body cast. I was 13. I am now 61. This physician has offered me possible way out with pain mitigation and SGB to reduce my mental health issues. I so want it to work.
I look forward to watching this documentary.
