As promised. Scout at 5 months with her favorite guy.
Don’t let that face fool you – she’s all mischief and trouble.
There are a ton more photos here. I got kind of carried away yesterday. There were a lot of requests for ducks in the last thread I put up – even though it was literally a duck post. So here are most of the duck photos I have. I don’t take a lot of them because most of the time I just get their little fluffy butts. Most of their charm is in their daily yard duties. They take their job very seriously. I should be taking more video of them.
I suppose my cats deserve equal time…maybe next week.
Time to update us on your critters! Share your photo links in the comments.

Now That’s Some Egg
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had all the “real” news I can handle for the near future.
Here’s Mabel and Maddie for a bit of a break. Mabel spent two hours this morning hanging with that ball – didn’t even head over for breakfast when I brought it out. I have no idea why, unless she thinks it’s some kind of super egg. Her eggs are really big, just not that big. LOL She moved on finally and now they are dealing with sideways grapple. Snuggled down by the lilac bushes.
How is your day progressing?

ETA: Scout is 5 months old today, so I’m going to get photos together if the day cooperates. If you need to get caught up, here are most of her photos to date.

I will admit, David Axelrod made my morning, so I had to share before I dashed off to begin my week.
If you need some good twitter thoughts today, I suggest you follow the amazing young activists from Parkland. They continue to inspire. @davidhogg111, @Emma4Change, @JaclynCorin to name just a few.

I served as a medic at Camp Anaconda, Iraq from 2006-07.
I saw the injuries that a M-4 rifle can do to the human body.
An AR-15 is the same as the M-4 that I carried into war.

Be safe today. Look out for each other. Hug a kid. I don’t think any of us could have ever predicted what we are witnessing, on any level.

I’m sorry, I forgot to put this up earlier for the non-writing post. That is my first Siberian Iris to pop this spring. A beauty, especially considering it should have been lost in the great garden bed purge. Nope, it’s living happily in and amongst the grass I planted.
What are you up to today?
