From commentor Jibeaux:
A Facebook friend, Jen, was publicizing the available puppy of one of her neighbors and FB friends, Kara, and we saw some videos and stills of him and we were smitten kittens. We didn’t know Kara but we went to meet the puppy our kids would later name Graham within a week. We had been planning on looking for a dog to rescue when the time was right, i.e. when the two week-long vacations we had planned for the summer were done with, but fell into our laps a little bit early. Kara’s boyfriend and a friend of his were mountain biking in Georgia, and came across an abandoned litter of puppies on the trail. They divided them up and put them down in their biking jerseys, and carried them out of the park. They commenced distributing them to willing homes, and Kara fostered one but had a jealous cat and worked long hours, and did not feel like she could be his forever home. She took him to a vet, got lots of nasty mites cleaned out of his ears, and took care of him and worked to socialize him and find him a home.

Graham is probably some sort of terrier mix, possibly some beagle or chihuahua or I don’t know what all in there too. He is a seriously cute dog. Our kids, 5 and 9, were absolutely over the moon about him and still love to wrestle and play with him, and give him plenty of attention. He loves attention. The five year old likes to pick him up just by holding him across the tummy, which can’t be comfortable, and he tolerates it with good cheer and patience. He has the little white sock feet that you can see, and when he is walking fast he absolutely prances. He picks up his front paws in this hilarious, delicate, adorable little way. He wants to make friends with all dogs and all people who are not on bicycles, school buses, or mail delivery trucks, all of which he considers sworn enemies. He loves to play “hunting dog” but goes after bugs, which is pretty funny to watch. We’re just very happy that he found us.

Also, probably the last Soonergrunt update for a while, in case anyone missed his message in an earlier thread:
I am home. I feel alternately like hell and really, really good.
Thanks to all for the good thoughts, prayers, positive energy and so on. The tumor, whatever the hell it was, is BENIGN!
I was gratified to see that the President had a press conference where, it seemed to me, that he kicked ass.
