WTF is going on with sitemeter? I have toyed with it for two hours, and can not figure out how to find out who is referring traffic.
This thing sucks. Does anyone have a suggestion on a replacement?

This post is in: Election 2008, Assholes, Did You Know John McCain Was A POW?, Republican Crime Syndicate - aka the Bush Admin.
Having thoroughly debased the executive branch, the bureaucracy, the military, and the judiciary, Karl Rove Republicans are not yet finished:
This week, non-partisan fact-checking organizations like PolitiFact and FactCheck.org
have called Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) out for lies in his attack ads against Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL). But on Fox News Sunday today, former Bush political adviser Karl Rove dismissed the organizations, claiming that “they’ve got their own biases built in there.” “You can’t trust the fact-check organizations,” said Rove.
There is no truth. All things are relative. The truth is a lie. All politicians lie, so why are you so worked up about the McCain campaign? You see how this works, don’t you?
And that is exactly what they want, because once they have destroyed every component of society that Americans trust, then they can simply do whatever they want. It has worked everywhere else they have tried it- intellectuals are dismissed scornfully as coastal elites, Universities dismissed as havens of bias.
There is no consensus on evolution- just different opinions. Sure, they say that McCain’s plan will be bad for the health of the nation, but those are just different opinions, and you are biased anyway. it is just your opinion that there are no WMD in Iraq. Who knows, they may have moved them all to Syria and we were right. Your anti-Bush bias is showing. Starting to see how this works, yet?
Facts are tricky and troubling things, and get in the way of the GOP machine. Might as well destroy the rest of our non-partisan fact-checkers, as well. We are all Michael Moore, now.

Put aside the avalanche of lies from Sarah Palin and John McCain the past few weeks, and answer this for me:
“How do they do it?”
How do people lie so easily and effortlessly? I have my fat ass on the exercise bike watching Bill Maher, and WSJ flunky John Fund, with a straight face, just stated that Barack Obama is more liberal than Bernie Sanders.
Bernie Sanders is a flipping socialist.
So how do they do it? I have passed along things that were untrue, but believed them to be true while stating them. I can understand that. But how do people stand up in front of other people, and just tell complete untruths? At least when Pat Buchana is lying and he gets caught, he laughs and you know he is just bullshitting. But folks like Palin, who lie repeatedly about the Bridge to Nowhere (and conveniently drop the lie when in Alaska and people will know better) just shock the shit out of me.
Sociopaths.

Best line of the show- being called elitist by cross-dressing Rudy Giuliani is like being called a douchebag by Andy Dick.

It has been 16,287 days, and Sarah Palin still hasn’t visited Iraq. Open thread.

Since I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the vast majority of this country is dumber than a sack of hammers, perhaps this will be on the level the public can understand:
Probably not, because, as we all know, Bill Clinton got a blowjob.

Tina Fey was as good as expected. The part at about a minute in when they contrast Hillary and Sarah is priceless, starting with them talking about how they agree on nothing and ending with her not knowing what the Bush doctrine is should be played on infinite loop everywhere.

Via the comments, this:
There were howls of laughter from the sizeable press corps covering Palin’s first foray on the campaign trail without her running man as a chaperone.
But, from the front of the plane, silence. The flight attendants assured us Palin and her entourage were watching. What she thought, though, is anybody’s guess.
Palin has yet to say so much as hello to the press corps.
The campaign is doing its best to keep Palin well away from inquisitive reporters, going so far as to book the press corps into a separate hotel from the candidate.
The bolded part of that is just shocking.

Senator Barack Obama raised $66 million in the month of August, making it his best month ever and the best in American political history, an aide said Sunday morning.
Obama is releasing that number after suggestions that his fundraising was failing to meet expectations. It puts him on pace to substantially outspend John McCain in the last two months of the race, in which McCain will be limited to spending the $84 million supplied by the Treasury under public financing rules.
A solid showing, and he will need it. This is going to be a very close election.
