Sully links to this anti-Hillary ad, which is a play on the old Apple 1984 commercial, and it really does cut to the core of my problem with Hillary.
I have defended her in recent years, because she really has been a centrist since becoming a Senator (not that centrism is in and of itself a good thing, but more often than not her viewpoint has been sane and rational). At the same time, I am reminded of how the perception still holds that she will say and do anything to get elected to whatever the next office might be.
That might seem unfair, and people are always unfairly claiming that ‘politicians will say anything.’ In some cases, that is completely unfair (think Dennis Kucinich). Sometimes it is is more or less fair- think Bush, McCain, Romney, Biden, etc. But with Hillary, you get the feeling that it is an understatement. I really do think she will say or do ANYTHING to get elected, and not think twice about it.
Maybe I am being unfair, maybe my perceptions are way off base, but that is my problem with Hillary. Were I forced to choose between Hillary and Dennis Kucinich (what an awful choice for me), I would choose Dennis every time. Even those his positions in no way resemble mine, and Hillary often does take similar positions as me, I would vote against her. Without even flinching.

And even I am taken- Kucinich is a fraud. Not that I would have ever voted for him anyway. In light of this, were I forced to vote for Kucinich or Hillary, I would vote for…. James Stockdale. If this makes it easier to illustrate my point, insert Paul Wellstone’s name instead of Kucinich.
