When I first saw this headline, McCain addresses economy in Obama’s backyard, I actually had to read the story to assure myself that McCain didn’t hire Michelle Malkin and company and, you know, really set up shop in Obama’s actual backyard.

Straight Talking in Circles
Ouch:
Robert Greenwald takes McCain to task for a few of his about faces. Maybe Hillary is staying in to take McCain’s spot when he is forced to drop out?
speaking for me only. I am not saying this to be snarky, but merely to point out that I am not John. Well, actually the last sentence is supposed to be snarky, but not the italicized part.

Run, Vito, run:
There has been nothing but silence coming from the embattled Staten Island congressman, Vito J. Fossella, regarding his plans to run for re-election this year. And that uncertainty has caused waves of concern not only among Republicans in New York City, but in Washington as well.
All signs indicate that Mr. Fossella, a Republican who was arrested in Virginia on May 1 on a drunken driving charge and then admitted to fathering a child out of wedlock, is leaning toward running for a sixth term in November. He has been telling friends and advisers that he thinks he can win. And though he canceled a fund-raiser scheduled for this past weekend, he has five or six events planned for the coming month, his spokeswoman said.
And on Saturday, he marched in the Memorial Day Parade in the Great Kills section of the island. He was greeted warmly while marching and while sitting on a platform with other politicians at the end of the route.
I support this decision.
Pens v. Flyers
Crosby is just sick.
Sick, I say. That steal setting up the third goal was just, well, silly.
*** Update ***
It is now 6-0, and the fans are now openly taunting the Flyers.
Also, He Never Apologized For Lots Of Other Stuff He Didn’t Do Either, So He Must Be An Asshole
Libby has the right take on this “POWERFUL” youtube video that Blake Fleetwood is begging us all to watch- it is nothing more than a hit piece on Obama. Otherwise, I am not sure why anyone thinks it is fair or appropriate to seem to beg Obama to apologize for a bunch of jackasses holding up an “Iron my shirt” sign at a Hillary event. Same for the rest of the crap attributed unfairly to Obama in the “powerful” youtube video.
Maybe this is just the more rabid wing of the Clinton supporters moving into the anger phase.
Another One Bites The Dust
Another lobbyist leaves the McCain camp:
Former Rep. Thomas G. Loeffler, a Texan who is among the McCain campaign’s most important advisers and fundraisers, has resigned as a national co-chair over lobbying entanglements, a Republican source told Politico on Sunday.
It’s at least the fifth lobbying-related departure from the campaign in a week.
The McCain campaign, already facing the prospect of being badly outgunned in the general election, now also must cope with the disruption of the lobbying shakeout.
The McCain campaign’s stringent approach to the issue is provoking a bit of grumbling from some of its Washington allies, who point out that a lobbyist’s function is enshrined in the Constitution.
“No one in real America cares,” said one key Republican. “But McCain cares.”
I love the spin by a “key Republican” there. Most people don’t care, but McMaverick does! That is why he is getting rid of the lobbyists one by one!
Did he just not notice what they all did for a living? I am not the smartest man, but I vaguely remember the right-wing FREAKING OUT over a piece in the NY Times in which it was asserted that McCain may be so convinced of his ethics that he is blind to all the crap going on around him (and truth be told, the article was sleazy for attempting to inject sex into the storyline). I didn’t just imagine all that uproar, did I?
Let’s just put it this way- for a guy who prides himself on straight talk and not being swayed by the evils of money or lobbyists, John McCain sure seems to have a whole bunch of lobbyist friends and a lot of lobbyists working for him.

Here is a film full of McMavericky McStraght Talk:
CBS Sunday Morning
That Charles Osgood sure gets around for an old guy- today he was broadcasting from Berlin.
In all seriousness, I thought the story about Adi Dassler was fascinating.
