It’s all over the Web, so it may as well be here, too.

The White House says the reflection is an arm holding a fishing pole. Whatever it is, Cheney seems quite taken with it. If it is a naked chick, it’s the ugliest naked chick possible.

This seems unfair:
A Navy supply officer and former Naval Academy instructor testified Thursday that she moonlighted as a prostitute for the D.C. Madam, a California woman accused of running an escort service that prosecutors say netted her several million dollars over a 13-year period.
Lt. Cmdr. Rebecca Dickinson told federal prosecutors at U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., that she had sex with nearly every client she met while working for Deborah Jeane Palfrey from October 2005 until April 2006.
***After her statement, Dickinson also received nonjudicial punishment and was given a punitive letter of reprimand. Hanzlik said she could face additional punishment in the future and has been placed on leave. When she exhausts her accumulated leave time, Dickinson will revert to unpaid leave status and remain there until she is separated from the Navy.
“We expect the men and women who serve in our nation’s Navy to adhere to a standard of conduct that reflects our core values of honor, courage and commitment,” Hanzlik said. “Lt. Cmdr. Dickinson’s conduct will prevent her from wearing this uniform again in the service of our country.”
We have a long national history of fucking people for money, so I don’t see what the big deal is. Dickinson should get a Medal of Freedom.

Got up, got all smacked up on coffee, did the treadmill and the exercise bike, then chased the cat around the house for ten minutes while singing “Day Tripper.”
Gonna be one of THOSE days, I tell you.

From McCain:
Project Vote Smart, the nonpartisan voter-education nonprofit, confirms today that it has kicked John McCain off its board. Mother Jones reported on Monday that PVS was prepared to make the move due to McCain’s nine-month refusal to fill out its Political Courage Test. According to PVS President Richard Kimball, the nonprofit has a rule that bars nonrespondents from serving on its board.
PVS contacted the McCain campaign 25 times from June 2007 to February 2008 in the hopes of avoiding the embarrassment this move entails for both the organization and one of its long-time board members. Eventually, however, they were simply left with no choice. The senator who made his career on straight talk couldn’t spare some for the organization he served.
The predicted response from Chris Matthews: “But.. but.. but.. OBAMA DRINKS ORANGE JUICE, WHICH IS SOMETIMES CALLED OJ, AND OJ IS A SCARY BLACK NEGRO.”
*** Update ***
Sort of related, can anyone provide me with a link to the poorman post where he repeatedly apologized for editorial mistakes when discussing the size of Tim Russert’s head?
*** Update #2 ***
It was Brit Hume’s head. Still can’t find the post.

I watch Hardball daily because I am a masochist, and I just learned from Chris Matthews that Obama “doesn’t do diners good” and doesn’t make that “regular connection.” Additionally, Matthews was mortified that Obama, when offered a coffee, declined and asked for an orange juice.
Kill me now. A couple more Hardball episodes and I may have to collapse the media and assholes categories into one all-encompassing category.

For both of the alleged fiscal conservatives left in the GOP, another own goal from the Bush administration:
The federal deficit through the first half of this budget year is at an all-time high, underscoring the pressure the budget is coming under as the overall economy slumps.
The Treasury Department reported Thursday that the deficit through the first six months of the budget year totaled $311.4 billion, up 20.5 percent from the same period a year ago. That was the largest deficit for the first half of a budget year on record, surpassing the old six-month mark of $302 billion set in 2006.
The Bush administration, when it sent its budget proposal to Congress in February, estimated that the deficit for the whole year will total $410 billion, putting it very close to the all-time high in dollar terms of $413 billion.
By comparison, when THE GIANT THROBBING PENIS THAT THREATENED TO FUCK EVERYTHING IN DC Bill Clinton left office, we had a 236 billion dollar surplus. The projected deficit for 2008 was 396 billion, and we almost have that halfway through the year.
Something else to keep in mind when you hear Republicans running for re-election in November babble about fiscal conservatism. But don’t you dare say Bush has been a disaster- then you just hate America.

If you are wondering why the RNC and their apparatchiks in the noise machine and the blogosphere are freaking out over the McCain “100 Years” bit (and yes, they are freaking out, as this insane Red State piece shows), this is why (via Yglesias):
That kind of thing will be devastating to McCain in the fall.
