From commenter Brendan:
Considering the awfulness that was perpetrated in Arkansas, I was wondering if there’s a good time to put up a save-a-cat post?
There is an incredibly friendly and cuddly little guy on our porch that we’ve named Buster. He’s about a year old, maybe two: he’s small for his age. He will literally jump into your arms and make biscuits (you know, where they knead your skin like it was dough?), purring the whole time. I would adopt him myself but I already have two.
Buster needs to be neutered and get shots, but I can split the price on that. We live in Philadelphia PA, so potential families need to be geographically convenient.
I’ve attached a picture. He is still there, staring at us through the window. He wants a home VERY badly. he is so friendly and loving, you could plotz.
I can be contacted at this email.
If you think you can help, leave a note in the comments and I will make sure that you get in touch.

Gawd, if I thought my John would take in a cat, I’d do it in a minute. Sadly, there’s no way we’re getting a kitty. He’s adorable though.

Oh, he looks like my dear deceased cat Sammy who I rescued from the Brooklyn waterfront and who turned out to be the best cat ever. I hope someone adopts him in a hurry.

Can’t offer to adopt Buster, alas (I live on the wrong side of the planet). But OMG that is one sweet boy.
jheartney
This is why I can never go to pet adoption places/events. I’d want to take them all. In St. Louis so Buster is out of reach, alas.

I know a number of people in Allentown and the Poconos. I’ll post this to Facebook.

Let’s see if Atrios needs a third cat.

Oh. My. Bob. what a sweet thing. Unfortunately, I am full of sweet things and on the wrong side of the coasts. Someone, please! Think of this kitty!
ET
If I didn’t have one who doesn’t like other cats I would drive up.
Mnemosyne
We also have a black-and-white boy named after the silent comedian, but we call him Keaton (we had a Boris (Karloff) at the same time and were afraid they would get their names mixed up). Sadly, we, too are on the wrong coast.
Chup
I wish I could as well — but I live in Texas and six cats is our quota …
horse dave
I would and I live just north of DC but I’ve got 3 100lb spoiled rotten dogs that would not be so kind to the kitty, any kitty.
brendancalling
Buster is a REALLY awesome guy. He can do both indoor and outdoor. I have never met a cat THIS loving and this social EVER. He runs right up to people, not scared of everything.
One caveat: I learned that he has a little limp from a previous dog bite, and so he may be leery about dogs.
Please contact me if interested.

@brendancalling:
I’m going to put this on my Facebook page. I know a few people out east and maybe they’ll be in need of a cute kitty.

We, too, have posted it on our Facebook page. We live in Philadelphia and have two rescue cats of our own. Marilyn can’t look at him again because she wants him but …

Let me know if you need help paying for the veterinary work. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some added costs like deworming…
Kate
I’m in the area but already have 2 as well. Please try a no kill rescue org. Finally Home Farm and Oasis animal sanctuary are both in South Jersey (Williamstown area…25 mins from Philly). Finally Home has a great track record so far with adoptions. I would also help with any costs necessary to get him a home.

@Scott Alloway:
come on, you have to have a minimum of three cats. Two is nothing! (I say this because I already have three)
Kathy
I posted this to Facebook as well. I don’t know where you are located, but there is a wonderful no-kill shelter in the Norristown area (E. Norriton) called Kitty Cottege. I pray that you find a home for him but if you don’t check this place out. I would take him but my husband and son are allergic.
round guy
He is a miniature version of my cat Moe. Unfortunately Moe is a 22 pound bully who would likely make life very unhappy for the little fellow. They made it very clear when we adopted him that he had to be the only cat in the house.
I do live in Philly though so I will pass this around to my friends to see if we can find him a home.
WereBear
Three cats are the awesomeest!
Why three cats means Cat Civilization
WereBear
I have also Facebooked him on my WayofCats page. Ya never know…
WereBear
Ack. Someone said to explain the Facebook page is called The Way of Cats.
Facebook is not very bright, it seems.
Constance
I’m too far away to help with a home but could help with the necessary vet care.

I’m on the other side of the country and have two cats and very small apartment so I, unfortunately, can’t be of any help, so sorry. Very cute kitty, bad dogs. My youngest cat got into it with a neighbors ill-behaved dogs. Cat won, neighbor wants me to pay vet bills. Had to inform him his leash(es) weren’t legal in Portland. He started to whine until I informed him that several owners had been successfully sued for the actions of their pets. That stopped the whining.

Brendan,
I also sent this to Tim to pass on to you in case I was too late for this thread and your email isn’t coming up, but try citykitties.org, a great org. located in my neighborhood (West Philly, but they will take this cutie, I think, or at least give you referrals).
La Caterina
What an adorable little fella. I’m in for a share of the vet bill.
We have a full house just now- 7 cats inside (including one Buster), 3 outside and a feral colony of 25 in the Bklyn Navy Yard. Will have Johannes post on his facebook, he’s got friends near Philly.
Bob
OMG! I want that kitty, but in Kansas City. Good luck Buster.
MazeDancer
Anyone who lives anywhere with an airport that would like this kitty, I’d be happy to contribute to the funding of the flight.
It’s winter, no cat will die from the heat in the cargo. Have moved cats myself on airplanes. It’s not fun, but neither is no home.
Also happy to contribute to a drive to any takers.
Kris in Philly
I live in Philadelphia, and may have a lead for Buster. I should know more tomorrow. Brendan, of course if someone else steps forward please accept any certain requests for Buster, but if you are still looking tomorrow, check in with me.
He is adorable, and I hate to think of him on the outside looking in.

Try getting in touch with these folks:
http://furryfriendsnetwork.com/
They’re located in the Carlisle, PA area (bout 2 and 1/2 hours from Philly) but pull in animals from all over (my pup came from a shelter they fostered her out of in WV – apparently they don’t all jump in front of Sergeant Cole’s car…).
I’ll also check around and see if anyone on base (Carlisle Barracks) is looking for a cat. And I’ve emailed this post to the director of the rescue group in case she wants to follow up.

Adam

Sent this along to my sister, who’s heavily involved with “Stray Cat Blues”, a cat-rescue outfit up around Lansdale PA. She’ll know what to do (could be nothing: she’s got five or more cats, and has had up to a dozen).
contact me at fahnestockalan@gmail with the critter’s contact info and I’ll pass it on

Along with City Kitties (which is an awesome organization), there’s some other Philly stray cat rescues: see http://www.phillycats.org/ (under Members). Also Prancing Paws: http://prancingpawsphilly.org/

I’d be interested in adopting but I can’t afford to come get him. I live in morgantown wv. My email is shannon_frankdno-spammsn.com change no-spam to @.
kim
I’d be pleased and happy to contribute a little cash toward vet bills and/or transport. It’s early-ish, here, so maybe I’m not seeing an obvious email link. How do I get in touch, Brendan? Do you have a Paypal account?
Gary
Hi, I’m a long time reader but first time poster. I live in Baltimore and have been looking for a rescue opportunity. I would really like to adopt Buster if the opportunity is still available. Thank you.
Michele C
I’m also at the requisite three cats, so no more in a small apartment. I would also be very happy to chip in to transporting the little guy anywhere, if that helps, and certainly would chip in for his vet care. Did any of the rescue people help? He’s so cute!
John
I’d be interested as well…live in NJ about an hour away from Philadelphia and recently looking to adopt.

Brendan:
I live a little over an hour from you in PA and would gladly take Buster in if no one’s ‘claimed’ him yet. We are a pet friendly household. shoot me an e-mail [hipster55 AT gmail DOT com].
Kris in Philly
Brendan, any updates on Buster? My lead didn’t pan out, but I am hopeful after seeing a few people say they are interested in adopting him in comments here.
