Did she say this was a distraction? From what? All the jobs the Reps are creating? From the Dem war on women? What’s it a distraction from? God damn her and all the fuckers like her. They let their crazy ambition and insane beliefs hurt actual real constituents! Is it time for the tumbrels yet?

I was just about to post a link to this story.
Are all Republicans mean and stupid? We’re going to need a new word for sociopath because sociopath doesn’t cut it. How about evil?

Being a SC’ian, that Time cover made me absolutely gag.
The Thin Black Duke
It’s not that complicated.
As long as these GOP Monsters Of The ID keep being rewarded (translation: re-elected) for their atrocities , they’ll keep on keepin’ on.
Why should they stop?

@Scott S.: That would be awesome! Her dad wears a turban.

And she thinks that one day that Jesus will accept her into eternal life, to break bread with him while on earth she treated the least of those like dirt. And some wonders why atheism is fast growing among the folks.

Has this bitch ever seen someone who has been assaulted? If not, time for a trip Nikki and make sure to take her to a poor neighborhood, not to suburban church center. A Bikini wax rash doesn’t count either.

@red dog:
She doesn’t care.

Conservatism cannot fail, it can only be failed.

@red dog:
Meeting assault victims wouldn’t change a thing. This would require empathy. Rape victims, like the poor and uninsured. are at fault for their situation in life and have whatever misfortune that befalls them coming. Therefor they are not worthy of concern, compassion or help. All wingnuts believe this at the core of their shriveled up, black hearts.
Maude
@Jay in Oregon:
We can add, it’s all the abused person’s fault.

Millions for the job creaters, not a penny in welfare folks. Its just what Ayn Ranf would have wanted.

OT – question for those who perhaps might know. Is there any way to discover when a facebook page was created? Thanks for any help. (I am not talking about a personal page, I am talking about a business page)
Baud
@The Thin Black Duke:
Exactly. The Republicans of today are the same as the Republicans of 2009-10. The only difference is that the Democrats controlled the federal and more state governments then. The solution to many of our problems really isn’t that complicated.
WereBear
@texascowgirl: They really don’t want to feel compassion and things like that. Look how they avoid it!

“care” just means something different to Haley. Keep in mind that this is a woman who has been married for 16 years and has 2 kids but yet says that “women don’t care about contraception”.

These people are just awful, awful people. I mean, there aren’t really words that even hint at the awfulness of these people. John Cole has a post up about how anybody who votes for Republicans just can’t call themselves decent people any more, and he’s dead on. There’s no excuse to vote for these people. Anybody who votes Republican now broadcasts to the world, “I’m a sleazy, vicious, soulless asshole!” I know they try to come up with rationalizations for why they’re “nice” people, and Lord knows, they don’t approve of some of the Republicans’ uglier positions, but, hey, those Democrats just aren’t serious people, what with all those Occupy Wall Street weirdos, and the Democrats aren’t that good on taxes or defense, and I only make $350,000 a year, which isn’t nearly as much as it sounds, and they just want to raise my taxes and punish my success, but I don’t hate black people and I’m a nice person!
But you can’t willingly fuck helpless people over and be a “nice” person; you can’t actively help other people fuck over helpless people and still call yourself a “nice” person. And right now, sadism and fucking helpless people over on principle seem to be the Republican Party’s main policy goals. Anybody who votes for them is an asshole. I don’t really care if that hurts the “nice” Republicans’ feelings. If they don’t want people to think they’re assholes, if they want us to think they’re nice people, then they need to stop voting for sadists like Nikki Haley. Shit, this isn’t so hard to understand; if I can get this, then anybody can. Shit.

Haley: “Each of these lines attempts to serve a portion of our population for which we extend our sympathy and encouragement, but nevertheless…”
Sympathy and encouragement don’t set broken bones. Even if it was real feeling and not sociopathy.
Triassic Sands
Cutting the budget is only the first step. I mean, shouldn’t sexual assault victims be paying restitution to the state for all the expenses incurred because they all “asked for it?” If they hadn’t lured, provoked, enticed, practically forced men to attack them then there wouldn’t be a problem, right?
Haley is a comfortable upper class female who has body guards and all the privilege anyone could hope for. The likelihood of her being the victim of sexual assault is probably about as low as it could possibly be for a woman in her age cohort. So why should she care about other women? It’s pretty clear that Republicans are all about the individual — but not other individuals, just ME. Health insurance: Haley’s got it; everyone else can just piss off. Food security: she can eat whatever she wants, whenever she wants it (and probably at the expense of her constituents). Personal safety: the biggest risk to her freedom is probably the danger that one of her fellow Wingers will have a cataclysmic attack of arrogance and wipe out everyone within a radius of 100 meters. Employment: admittedly, being a politician is and iffy job, or it would be if most candidates weren’t already wealthy enough that work isn’t mandatory.
This is a woman with pretty much everything — except empathy, a conscience, and a basic sense of human decency. In other words…she’s a Republican.
Gawd, I hate those people.

@zifnab25:
Except that if it were the case, she wouldn’t have gotten to claim her own Social Security and Medicare benefits when she got to the point where she needed them.
Ayn Rand worshippers have tried to debunk this by pointing to this quote at: http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/government_grants_and_scholarships.html
Except that’s not how Social Security works. Nor unemployment insurance; that money isn’t contributed by the employee, it’s contributed by the employer. But Ayn Rand said it, so even if she’s full of shit, there’s no hypocrisy! /headdesk

@The Thin Black Duke:
Yeah, but they don’t see anything they do as at all freaky. They, after all, are the real Americans. Anything they do, say or believe is by definition normal, healthy, moral upstanding Americanism, and most assuredly not freaky. (It’s true that some of their most cherished beliefs and fondnesses, like open racism, are no longer put up with in America, but that’s only because liberal disloyal freaks have poisoned our society with their un-American ideas.)
Brian R.
Yet another example of the imaginary Republican war on women.
beltane
@RSA: And “encouragement” do to what exactly? This evil trash sack of protoplasm can’t even bring herself to pay lip service to the suffering of rape victims. She is like the Jan Brewer of the East.

@beltane:
Remember when Palin had the Alaskan women who were victims of sexual assault pay for their own rape kits?
beltane
@Maude: Yes, I do remember that as I remember how Palin cut funding for special needs children in Alaska and then had the balls to tout her status as the mother of a special needs child. The disgust I feel for these people is visceral.

Karma, karma, where the hell are you?

Scott S got it in one. Who cares about principles and human decency when there’s a VP slot/wing nut welfare gig to be vetted for?
jl
Gov Haley’s explanation that rape crisis and counseling centers distract from the mission of the PUBLIC HEALTH department is, to understate, slightly odd.
But, I guess calling rape crisis centers a distraction is better than just referring to GOP general orders on women.
For, there is no GOP war on women, amirite?
Maude
@Ash Can:
She says she’s not being vetted for VP. AP headline.
Violet
They did a pretty lady VP last time. No way a brown pretty lady gets it this time. It’ll be a boring white man with no further political ambitions. Anyone who’s looking at 2016 knows that the disaster that is Mitt’s candidacy won’t do them any good down the road.

We need to make them pariahs.
I think that the tide is turning and they could end up being hoisted on their own petard.
I despise them.

OT, but I am watching Romney clips on the Ed Show and Romney is looking and sounding a bit unhinged. Maybe it’s me.
Ash Can
@Maude: That’s why I included the “wingnut welfare” bit. And if it turns out she’s lying about being vetted for VP, well, that just adds to her GOP credentials, doesn’t it?

What strikes me as particularly crazy about all this — Haley getting rid of the budget for domestic violence and sexual assault victims, and shutting down the state’s public art program, as well as Rick Perry and so many other governors pretending they can shut off all medical care for everyone — is that they’ve misjudged the political winds as badly as anyone could.
They’re playing to the teabaggers — and the teabaggers are done as a political movement. Have been done for months. Their power is dwindling, everyone hates them, they’re widely discredited — and the mainstream corporate GOP has won the day.
Kissing up to the teabagging losers is an act only for the politically desperate.

@texascowgirl:
Or maybe they believe that victims of domestic abuse and rape should gun up and kill their attackers. Conservatives appear to love that stand your ground stuff.

Since Anti-liberal Black Lady “doesn’t give a single shit” about all the innocent noncombatant women and children Obama’s drones have murdered, sounds like it’s tit for tat.

Heck, actions like this will only make her more popular with the teabagging, wingnut base.
I feel sorry for the decent people in South Carolina who have to put up with this pampered c**t.

@Jay in Oregon:
Good point about a sad case.
Still, I think SC legislators should call the governor’s bluff and introduce legislation explicitly allowing women to stand their ground and use deadly force against a rapist or abuser.

She cares nothing about women’s issues and gender equality? Are you really that fucking dumb? Well, you’re either that dumb or that dishonest, and neither would surprise me as I’ve seen you display an equal degree of both on here.
You’re nothing but a hateful racist with a mouth to match. A perfect fit for this hate blog actually. I suggest you keep your opinions within this little echo chamber of hate, because the rest of the world probably won’t take too kindly to your idiocy and hate.

You’re right. That was so pathetic it doesn’t even qualify as trolling. It was just a petulant outburst. Add a little (specious) reasoning or (made up) evidence and maybe you’d be trolling.
