Well, it made me LOL. As did this, via Mr. Pierce:

Strip clubs may not be the most politically correct venue for those attending the Republican National Convention, but that doesn’t mean Tampa’s well-known adult hot spots won’t be ready for the influx of visitors.

One place is bringing in a stripper who looks like former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. There are major renovations taking place. And some nude clubs have already been giving potential customers a taste of the talent online…

By the time the RNC begins in late August, Kleinhans hopes out-of-towners will have already formed attachments to his dancers from watching them online through the Club Cam System, which the 2001 Odyssey developed.

Thee Doll House, on North West Shore Boulevard, doesn’t have webcams but its dancers are also planning to cash in during the convention. Thee Doll House recently underwent a $1 million renovation and plans to bring in a Palin impersonator to entertain customers.

Neither club would predict how much money they would make during the convention but both expect business to more than quadruple.

Even with all the cameras turned on the area. In 2010, when the convention was awarded to Tampa, club owner Joe Redner said never mind that the GOP pitches itself as a party of family values.

“Washington, D.C., per capita, sells more bondage leather than any place else in the world,” Redner, who owns the Mons Venus, told the Tribune in 2010. “Those people are kinky.”

The Bay area has more than 40 strip clubs, and their already infamous reputation increased during the 2009 Super Bowl, when some clubs stayed open 24 hours and doubled or tripled the number of dancers….

    So this picture from the Liberty Movement’s Facebook page has been making the rounds, getting over 2,600 shares since Wednesday, when it was first posted. Lots of Ron Paul fans have been sharing it SINCE the Aurora massacre. For those that don’t have Facebook, it reads:

    84,999,989 firearm owners killed no one yesterday.

    This is really a stupid argument. Reminds me of the comedian (Chris Rock?) who asked, “Why doesn’t the news cover all the planes that didn’t crash?”

    Since the Ron Paul fan I know who shared that is Muslim, and has been a very loud critic of Israel, I’ve been tempted to respond thusly: “And 176,499 Israeli soldiers (give or take) killed no Palestinian children yesterday either. So that must mean everything’s fine and dandy then, right?”

    But if I did, the energy released from his head exploding in anger at me might cause a 6-mile blast radius in Los Angeles. So I haven’t. But I’m tempted.

    I hope those strip clubs are equipped with automated external defibrillators, because given the demographic that’s going to be there for the Republican national convention they’re likely to need them. I’m also guessing that the male strip clubs are where the real take is going to be.

    “Strip Clubs And Hookers Await GOP Convention” is the American political equivalent of “Look At All The Condoms At The Olympics! Sexytime!”

    Both stories appear every four years marking events that give people the chance to fuck people who they wouldn’t normally get to fuck.

    That’s a real treasure. Also much more interesting photos than most of that era. Although I have one of my grandmother and my dad and 2 brothers all — including granny — dressed up in wigs and operatic clothing, no idea why.

    On a technical note, I always wondered how women like Venus were able to tuck that much hair into small little buns. Where’d it all go? Such a mystery.
