Fred Trump’s Racehorse Theory of Superior Genes gets slapped upside the head with a dead fish, i.e., his most public grandson. (Not that his own firstborn was any bright light, but as the old saying goes: Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations.)

    Inspirational protest badass:

    60 year old historian Martin Bühler (who identified himself to the press, I do not identify activists without consent) appears to ‘photobomb’ a lot of media images of the G20 in Hamburg. In reality he is a long time observer documenting police brutality. In Hamburg he chose to cultivate the most non-activist ‘white bystander in a suit with a bike’ look he could manage and casually walked in front of police. As police slowed down or interrupted attacks and waited for the ‘bystander’ to get out of the way (being caught on camera trashing what look like bystanders is bad press after all), activists had time to regroup or retreat.

    This gives me reason to not refresh my blue hair, dye it back to something like my natural color, and not resent my professional drag come September.

    Petty nitpick: assuming “firstborn” refers to the Orange Occupant of the Oval Office, Donald was actually the fourth of Fred Trump’s five children.

    From what I have read, Fred, Jr., Fred Trump, Sr’s first born, is a tragic tale of a son, who wanted to get out from under his domineering father, and live a laid back life, and not try to expand the family’s real estate business, but could not. The pressure from his dad and family was probably the reason Fred, Jr drank himself to death at an early age.

    Actually looked it up. Fred, Sr’s first born is Maryanne Trump, who is a retired Federal Appeals court judge.

    Fred’ Jr is the first born son.

    Don’s the second born son and fourth oldest (as has been pointed out).

    I am not so sure that Fred was wrong about this – the family does seem to have the brains of thoroughbred racehorses.
