    The interesting thing to me: we know people can transmit COVID-19 before they have symptoms.  Can they transmit it before they test positive?  I would expect not, since the tests look for virus, and not enough virus to detect probably means not enough to infect, but it will be interesting to find out.  I expect the level of paranoia at the White House to escalate even further than normal.

    Let’s see how this plays out…in oh, about ten days to two weeks, which is the typical asymptomatic incubation period for COV.  Of course, if Katie Miller and Trump’s valet turn out to be the lucky sort who remain asymptomatic even while infectious, this will only reinforce Trump and Pence’s conceit that they are somehow exempt from infection as superior-type beings – for a little while longer, until their own asymptomatic incubation periods are over…and then….??? could we possibly get lucky enough that one or the other of them get as sick as Boris Johnson did over in the U.K.?  And even if so, would that experience really change their minds about anything, since their political calculation is that it’s in their electoral prospects interest to promote minimization of the threat of COV to the public?

    ETA:  No, this is not character assassination.  It is directly pertinent to Reade’s story, because if she was fired for having a record of fraud, her claim that she was fired or quit over sexual harassment is pure, 100% bullshit.  In fact, the conclusion is that her claim to have been fired or quit due to sexual harassment was a lie to cover up the real reason.

    County of San Luis Obispo, CA office confirms records were expunged.  There was a case, and the case number dovetails with some earlier research.  Charge was check fraud, a misdemeanor.  No word on disposition of charges.

    It is Tara Reade’s birthdate.  (Looks like 2-26-1964.  Public record, and helpful in assessing more information about her.)

    OMG, that first tweet, where Katie Miller was at a PPE delivery event.  That was at the Woodbine nursing home here in Alexandria, Virginia.  There have been 107 cases in that zip code and the testing rate is 25% positive.  She had to walk into a hot zone without a mask.

    Clearly Trump does not begin to understand what testing is all about.  You could test negative over and over because you didn’t have the virus, and then you get the virus and you test positive.  This  seems simple enough even for an ignoramus like him to understand.

    @Roger Moore: There was a study in China about oral (as opposed to respiratory) transmission of the virus.  Don’t quote me on the details, but my recollection is that people were found that had the virus in their feces but did not have it in their respiratory tract (and had no respiratory symptoms).  So, yes, you can be negative in swab tests and still have the virus in your body.

    NOTE: the study said nothing about whether people having the virus that way were infectious to others’ respiratory systems.  And the other studies about toilets spraying bacteria and all the rest all over the bathroom don’t say anything about people getting COVID-19 that way either.  The best evidence we have says that people get COVID-19 from close contact (touching, coughing) from other infected people.

    tl;dr – It’s complicated.  Cover your nose and mouth and wash your hands!!
