It’d be Leverage, but we don’t have cable so we’re catching up on DVD. And I have a huge sad that Southland is no longer on Hulu…
Also, I hope the suits that cancelled The Unusuals got ten thousand mocking and/or abusive phone calls for not hanging on to Jeremy Renner before Hurt Locker got all that attention.
I now love Morgan with the heat of a thousand suns. Such a wonderful friend he is, and surprisingly handy with a bamboo sword. And that wink to Sarah was full of win.
Gad, what a great episode! I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I clapped my hands with glee.

Sorry, not Chuck related, but just saw this story over at HuffPo and I thought it was cute, so I’m gonna share.
The first couple welcomed guests to the White House on Monday, marking International Women’s Day. Mrs. Obama looked ravishing in a grey draped dress by Lanvin.
They kicked off the event with this adorable exchange. Pictures and full transcript below.
MRS. OBAMA: Thank you so much. So I get to speak first while he stands and watches. I love this. (Laughter.) Look at me adoringly. (Laughter.)
All I could think the whole show was “Ellie in a bikini and pooe Morgan wasn’t there to see it.”

Speaking of Bubba, have you guys heard Bubba’s mistress is none other than Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild. Yeah – the super PUMA. No wonder she went nutz, she was so offended her man got kicked in the balls. Hell, she took the loss harder than Hillary, which says so much.
I’ll be on medicine for at least six months to prevent the clot from getting bigger. They will let the clot dissolve on it’s own and let the dissection heal on its own. As for my left arm, they think it will get better in a couple of weeks or months. I can hold thing in my left hand now, which is good.
I can’t get any massages, this sucks because my neck and head hurt and I want one. But the pain is due to the problem, so…
I have a few minor-damaged areas in my brain, but I will create new pathways and/or neurons (I can’t remember which word the doctor used) so I’ll be fine.
No word yet on when I can leave the hospital, but I am staying positive.
So, the mistress of the candidate for President’s husband is pissed because the candidate lost…If Hilary had won, was she expecting romantic evenings in the Lincoln bedroom while the President was in the situation room keeping American safe…
@Mike Kay: Yes, I am talking about a tee vee show. I don’t watch much TV at the moment — I catch the odd episode of Lost, just because it’s the last season and I figure “meh — might as well find out what happens”. I watch the news. Sam and I watch Sesame Street together. And I watch Chuck. And right now, due to BSG ending and Heroes bringing teh suck, Chuck is the only show about which I am truly enthused.
That sorta already happened. In the 90s, when she married Sir Evelyn Robert de Rothschild, they spent their honeymoon in the White House.
So you had Bill in one room and down the hall Lady Lynn consummating “her marriage” in the Lincoln Bedroom.
Way to go, Bubba. IF you only had let Moncia sleep in the Lincoln bedroom, but alas, Clinton was an elitist nd he didn’t let the “help” in the private quarters.
@Genine: Although you situation is much different that John’s, it sounds like the recovery will be similar. Hopefully you don’t have shoes that need to be tied every morning. Slip on shoes are your friend. Take care of yourself and be patient. The strength in your arm will return but will take some time.
Yeah, I remember. Brain injuries are sneaky mofos. The doctor said had I waited much longer to go to the hospital this weekend, I would have been paralyzed on my left side or worse.
Luckily, I caught it in time.

One of my week’s high points. Happy Chuck could finally tell somebody. . .
Yeah, most of my shoes are slip-ons. I may be able to tie shoes thought, sometimes. The strength and coordination comes and goes in my arm.

@ajr22: Maybe the plot for the episode is that while it appears Casey has gone rogue, he finds some deep dark Ring secret about Shaw, Shaw pins it on Casey, and now Casey is holding the bag of shit and has to take out Shaw to prove his innocence.
Note that I’m just pulling this all out of my ass. Chuck writers are much more clever than that. Or if that’s the plot, then they’ll make it funny.

Not even in the same category of goodiness.
Now, if you want to say that Chuck is the best low budget dramedy left on the sad shards of what used to be NBC, okay, maybe. But that’s like being the best dressed rodeo clown in Clinton, Oklahoma.
@everyone. Jeeeeze! Spoilers! SOME of us are west coast.

[I avoid a lot of the chatter, but generally the only things I would consider spoilers on Chuck would be either the death of a character, or if/when Chuck (OMFG, Finally, FFS) bones Sarah.]

@RedKitten: Does CTV or CBC carry Southland ? I would hope you’d get to see some of the worst parts of being an American as well. Although I shudder to think what an international must think of us crazies over here just from the rantings on this blog.
@Genine: This may or may not get covered by your insurance, but work with an occupational therapist. They are trained to pick up on subtle hints in behavior that sometimes can get missed by neurologists or other medical professionals. Plus every single one I’ve ever known has been funny as hell.

I think there are a few packets of that cheater cwap in my cupboard that need elimination as well. I need to do a spring cleaning in the kitchen, I already got the fridge mostly cleaned out.

@John Cole: I love William Daniels, and have ever since he was John Adams in “1776.” After St Elsewhere someone had the truly idiotic idea to have him star in a situation comedy – not his genre AT ALL. It crashed and burned and I cried.
I’ve tried to get into Chuck and haven’t managed it. And I’m out of love with NCIS since their utterly craptacular episode last week. So my only must see shows these days are White Collar and The Good Wife.
(There are other shows I like – Leverage and Caprica, f’rex – but I’m happy to catch them On Demand. WC and GW I have to see when they air.)
I was thinking to myself, what NBC needs is yet another medical drama.
ER’s off the air, dude.
And Taylor Schilling, as a nurse from a blue-collar family, makes a much better centerpiece to an ensemble cast than Noah Wiley as an emo-pants medical student. Mercy’s a lot closer to Rescue Me than to St. Elsewhere.
Chuck brought the funny tonight. So glad they didn’t “take it back” and have Morgan’s mind erased or something. After last week, I was begining to feel really bad for Chuck, the character, almost as strongly as if he was Chuck, actual person and reluctant spy. You shouldn’t feel that invested in what is really the popcorn movie equivalent of a TV action series.
“Wanna hit?”

@Anne Laurie: Besides which, NBC is fucking up so beautifully with pretty much all their TV offerings that I wouldn’t trust them to touch pretty much any TV show worth a damn (Exhibit A: Southland ) so why give them the chance at it?
The second season isn’t on CTV now though, but I have been downloading torrents when they are available. I lived in LA briefly during the “troubles” (Riots, Northridge quake) and it brings back a lot of memories of that time. After someone tried to break into my apartment while I was home (and this was in a wealthy neighbourhood in Pasadena), I decided it was time to move on.
