I’ll be stuffing them in envelopes and putting the addresses on tonight and tomorrow and hope to ship Thursday!

On the Road and In Your Backyard
Good Morning All,
This weekday feature is for Juicers who are are on the road, traveling, or just want to share a little bit of their world via stories and pictures. So many of us rise each morning, eager for something beautiful, inspiring, amazing, subtle, of note, and our community delivers – a view into their world, whether they’re far away or close to home – pictures with a story, with context, with meaning, sometimes just beauty. By concentrating travel updates and tips here, it’s easier for all of us to keep up or find them later.
So please, speak up and share some of your adventures and travel news here, and submit your pictures using our speedy, secure form. You can submit up to 7 pictures at a time, with an overall description and one for each picture.
You can, of course, send an email with pictures if the form gives you trouble, or if you are trying to submit something special, like a zipped archive or a movie. If your pictures are already hosted online, then please email the links with your descriptions.
For each picture, it’s best to provide your commenter screenname, description, where it was taken, and date. It’s tough to keep everyone’s email address and screenname straight, so don’t assume that I remember it “from last time”. More and more, the first photo before the fold will be from a commenter, so making it easy to locate the screenname when I’ve found a compelling photo is crucial.
Have a wonderful day, and enjoy the pictures!
More from Le Comte.
FYI, watch the TV or internet or what-have-you for the 1:30 PM EST launch of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. This should be amazing – I expect success, or it could be an amazing explosive and fiery failure. Either way – dramatic!
I can’t promise I’ll be online to post a thread, but I’m sure someone else will. Fingers crossed for a 100% successful launch and subsequent planning of heavy exploration/colonization missions.

Thanks to an enhancement from Major Major Major Major, the back-end form mechanics are improved, so we start this week with more from Le Comte…’s trip to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, etc.
But first – mot sure who else is as jammed about Tuesday’s launch of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket as I am, but folks, this is really a big step in history. Launch window begins at 1:30 pm EST and I’ll be glued to a screen or two with at least one eye, no matter what else is going on!
I hope this is a week we look back on in awe, and that this launch starts something inspirational: a more concrete vision of neartime space exploration and habitation possibilities. It’s really exciting!

Folks, if it’s Friday, it must be otmar!
He actually submitted two sets, and I’ll run the next one next Friday.
Thanks otmar – your pictures and explanations bring me and many others lots of joy. You’re lucky to live somewhere so scenic!
And should we have other overseas readers, please do send in photos. We’d love to gain some insight into your country and culture, and get a feel how the world looks around you.
Friday Morning Open Thread: We’ve Earned A Little Indulgence
Gotta admit, one of the best things I know about President Obama is that he had the smarts to fall in love with this woman, and the skills to keep her interested after all these years. From The Hill:
… “All we have is hope,” the former first lady says in a preview clip from Thursday’s “Ellen” show. Obama’s sit-down with host Ellen DeGeneres marks her first TV interview since leaving the White House last year…
“The thing I learned in the eight years that I was in the White House is that what we do every day in our lives, the good things that we do every day — and we know we do it: we show empathy, we care for each other, you know, we do have a lot in common,” says Obama. “That’s what it means to lead with hope and not fear.”
“I would just encourage your viewers, the country, to do the things we do every day: to love each other, to take care of each other, to show empathy — and you can’t do that only when people make you feel good or safe,” the 54-year-old Obama said, without mentioning President Trump. “We’ve got to do it all across the board.”
“We have to be an open-hearted nation and that’s who we are,” she added.
“So, let’s just keep living our lives like that every single day and forget what they’re saying in Washington. That’s not necessarily who we are. We know who we are.”…
***********
It’s also Candlemas — a/k/a Groundhog Day — and here in Massachusetts, it’s raining:
If Candlemas is bright and clear, there’ll be two winters in the year;
If Candlemas has snow and rain, old winter shall not come again… “
The rain is supposed to turn to snow as the temperature drops sharply, so any groundhogs getting used for media clips are unlikely to see their shadows unless the camera crew messes up. Since I was one of the Massholes caught in the rush-hour commute home during the April Fools Day blizzard, I never put away the snow shovels before Mother’s Day. But even though it hasn’t been a bad winter so far, I can’t help hoping for an early spring…
Apart from memories, good & bad, what’s on the agenda as we wait for the Friday news drop?

Calendar Update
Hello all, quick calendar update.
I have deposited everyone’s paypal and checks and my flight to Aruba leaves tomorrow, so SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH. I sent a cashier’s check to the printer, everyone’s name is now in an excel file ready to be printed onto the labels I picked up today, and I spoke to the printer and they will be shipped tomorrow, so it looks like Monday-Tuesday I will be sending everything out.
So far we have sold 151 out of the 200 calendars that have been printed, and I would like to sell forty more, leaving a buffer of nine calendars in case something gets lost/destroyed in the mail. So, if you would like to purchase a calendar, send $25 bucks to the paypal link to the right, or email [email protected] and I will send you the address to mail checks.
I have two people who have paid me but have not provided me with a mailing address. ONE OF THEM IS TOM LEVENSON. YOU MAY HAVE HEARD OF HIM.
The other person’s first initial is M. and the last name starts with Pass. If that is you, email your address to me.
This is a pain in the arse and I want to have this done by Thanksgiving next year so they ship for Christmas.

So – a word, before the show. I had planned to share many more pictures from Le Comte … , but had back-end issues. I’ll work with Major x4 to solve. So the good news is I’ve got some great pics from him from Vietnam. One especially poignant for some, I’d expect. I will publish more from his trip next week, once the issues are resolved.
But I’m also publishing some other pictures first – so enjoy!
