Who the hell does he think he’s kidding?
I mean, really. Is there ANYBODY out there who honestly thinks that Rmoney and the right wing* would ever work with Democrats in any meaningful way that isn’t “shut your liberal piehole and do what you’re told”?
I know I’m not the smartest guy around. Hell, with me on the front page and the recent departure of Tim F, the FP IQ just dropped about seven points. But even I can see that this is a desperation flail.
It’s time to hit them harder. If the situation were reversed, they’d be going after our candidate hammer and tongs and even running ads to tie congressional candidates to him. That’s what we should be doing all over the country.
I was gratified to see that you all put us over $50K in a around two and half hours earlier. Give more. You don’t need that 2nd Double Mocha Half-Caf Latte With Cinnamon anyway. I’m in for some more. Let’s see if we can’t top $51K by midnight, Pacific time tonight.
*Rmoney And The Right Wing sounds like an 80’s band gone horribly wrong, doesn’t it? Open Thread, also too.
UPDATE: H/T to commenter BD of MN, the first ship has abandoned the sinking rat. Tim Pawlenty has resigned as co-chairman of the Rmoney campaign and become the bagman for the banksters.

Just ran across this from Steve M and it’s a scary thought:
I’m glad that (apart from Donald Trump) the anti-vaccine movement isn’t really linked to the right. Can you imagine if vaccine skepticism were seized on by the right-wing noise machine? It would spread like wildfire. A third of Americans simply wouldn’t vaccinate their children, insisting that the health effects of vaccination are just a “theory.” Every Republican in Congress would have to sign an anti-vaccine pledge. There’d be movements to make vaccines illegal in the red states, and dispensers of vaccines would be defunded in those states, and their offices would be shut down. Right-wing billionaires would bankroll documentaries linking vaccination to Hitler and eugenicism, and the Fox/talk radio crazies would flock to those documentaries, which would break box-office records. Half the books on the bestseller list would have covers depicting Democratic politicians as Dr. Mengele.
I sometimes wonder if our nation can possibly survive having a population that includes a highly organized, completely insane 27% with its own media and politial party.

The West Wing lives. Sort of. One of the best campaign ads this cycle, no doubt:

We had a thread here awhile back about asshole pizza magnates, troglodytes who not only foist shitty pies off on the public but dump delivery trucks full of money on wingnut candidates. Papa John Schnatter was Exhibit A, whinging about how providing his wage slaves with minimal healthcare coverage would “force” him to raise the price on his cardboard-n-ketchup concoctions by $0.20 per crappy pizza.
In the ensuing discussion, we learned that the Little Caesars owners seem to be the exception to the “every pizza magnate is a wingnut asshole” rule. So if forced to buy substandard chain pies, liberals might consider forking over their dough to LC.
But we also discussed the merits of making one’s own pie and ordering pizza from independent pie emporiums. Commenter Zifnab had a great idea on that score:
Can we get a “Really good independent pizza shops near you” Open Thread in protest, maybe? I’ve got three or four really amazing pie shops that I could name, just on the west side of Houston.
Dolce Vita has the kind of pizza you’d order on a hot date with a girl you’re trying to impress. Friends Pizza is this little shop run by a Brazilian guy that makes hands-down some of the best order-out I’ve ever eaten. There’s a Grimbaldi’s in Sugar Land, that is really nice. And New York Pizzaria is great too.
Why anyone would order Papa John’s in H-town is beyond me.
So here it is: What’s the best pizza place in your town, if you care to share? What’s your favorite homemade pizza innovation? This is far more important than politics, people — this is PIZZA. But it’s also an open thread, so please feel free to discuss whatever…including politics.

Betty Cracker’s piece earlier, taken with Tom Levenson’s piece below are the kinds of things to warm my day. They give me good feelings about the election coming up. Obama looks to win, and win big. I heard on NPR this morning that he was up by eight points over Romney on average in current national polling, an advantage that none of the last three winning presidents enjoyed over their opponents at this stage of the election.
That’s great. It’s also not enough. I don’t want the President to win. I want him to utterly destroy the republican candidate and his Eddie Munster in a cheap suit-looking succubus incubus as viable political candidates forever. To paraphrase Anne-Laurie from earlier today, throw the bastard an anvil. I want to see six more seats in the US Senate (but I’ll settle for three in this tough year) and I want to see Nancy Pelosi wield the Speaker’s gavel again, but I’d call it a win if we send 15 freshman teabaggers home with their balls in their hands.
I want to run up the motherfucking score.
H/T to commenter Josie, contact safe seat House Dems and ask them to contribute to protecting their weaker brethren and increasing the caucus through this story at GOS.
And here’s our Act Blue thermometer, which will be making an appearance on every one of my posts from now till election day:
Let’s see if we can’t break 50K today!

Has the Romney campaign joined the bleedin’ choir invisible?
Is it an ex-campaign?
It ain’t over til it’s over, but Jeebus, notorious tosspot Peggy Noonan called for an intervention! Which is like receiving an offer for elocution and deportment lessons from the Honey Boo Boo clan!
I shamelessly purloined the copy for the illustrations above from Rumproast commenters HumboldtBlue and Lowkey, respectively. But I suspect you clever little wood-sprites can come up with additional rejoinders to the question: How dead is Romney’s campaign?
